We renovated the exterior and the 4-car garage of this colonial, New England-style estate in Haverford, PA. The 3-story main house has white, western red cedar siding and a green roof. The detached, 4-car garage also functions as a gentleman’s workshop. Originally, that building was two separate structures. The challenge was to create one building with a cohesive look that fit with the main house’s New England style. Challenge accepted! We started by building a breezeway to connect the two structures. The new building’s exterior mimics that of the main house’s siding, stone and roof, and has copper downspouts and gutters. The stone exterior has a German shmear finish to make the stone look as old as the stone on the house. The workshop portion features mahogany, carriage style doors. The workshop floors are reclaimed Belgian block brick. RUDLOFF Custom Builders has won Best of Houzz for Customer Service in 2014, 2015 2016 and 2017. Santa Cruz, CA - This custom architectural garage door and gate project in the Northern California area was designed in a Spanish Colonial style and crafted by hand to capture that charming appeal of old world door craftsmanship found throughout Europe. The custom home was exquisitely built without sparing a single detail that would engulf the Spanish Colonial authentic architectural design. Beautiful, hand-selected terracotta roof tiles and white plastered walls just like in historical homes in Colonial Spain were used for this home construction, not to mention the wooden beam detailing particularly on the bay window above the garage. All these authentic Spanish Colonial architectural elements made this home the perfect backdrop for our custom Spanish Colonial Garage Doors and Gates.

The Laurel was a project that required a rigorous lesson in southern architectural vernacular. The site being located in the hot climate of the Carolina shoreline, the client was eager to capture cross breezes and utilize outdoor entertainment spaces. The home was designed with three covered porches, one partially covered courtyard, and one screened porch, all accessed by way of French doors and extra tall double-hung windows. The open main level floor plan centers on common livings spaces, while still leaving room for a luxurious master suite. The upstairs loft includes two individual bed and bath suites, providing ample room for guests. Native materials were used in construction, including a metal roof and local timber.

The best of past and present architectural styles combine in this welcoming, farmhouse-inspired design. Clad in low-maintenance siding, the distinctive exterior has plenty of street appeal, with its columned porch, multiple gables, shutters and interesting roof lines. Other exterior highlights included trusses over the garage doors, horizontal lap siding and brick and stone accents. The interior is equally impressive, with an open floor plan that accommodates today’s family and modern lifestyles. An eight-foot covered porch leads into a large foyer and a powder room. Beyond, the spacious first floor includes more than 2,000 square feet, with one side dominated by public spaces that include a large open living room, centrally located kitchen with a large island that seats six and a u-shaped counter plan, formal dining area that seats eight for holidays and special occasions and a convenient laundry and mud room. The left side of the floor plan contains the serene master suite, with an oversized master bath, large walk-in closet and 16 by 18-foot master bedroom that includes a large picture window that lets in maximum light and is perfect for capturing nearby views. Relax with a cup of morning coffee or an evening cocktail on the nearby covered patio, which can be accessed from both the living room and the master bedroom. Upstairs, an additional 900 square feet includes two 11 by 14-foot upper bedrooms with bath and closet and a an approximately 700 square foot guest suite over the garage that includes a relaxing sitting area, galley kitchen and bath, perfect for guests or in-laws.

This 5,077 square foot Traditional Coastal Colonial custom home was designed by P2 Design. The home displays harmonious symmetry, with a horizontal white siding façade, van deusen blue wood shutters that complement the tasteful matching paneled front door, and natural stone chimneys. The architectural style fits neatly in the neighborhood by drawing on the surrounding colonial homes, giving it a touch of history, and blending it with a more casual traditional coastal appearance. This residence is situated on a flat site with views north and west to the mountain range. The opposing roof forms open the primary living spaces on the ground floor to these views, while the upper floor captures the sun and view to the south. The integrity of these two forms are emphasized by a linear skylight at their meeting point. The sequence of entry to the house begins at the south of the property adjacent to a vast conservation easement, and is fortified by a wall that defines a path of movement and connects the interior spaces to the outdoors. Gray is the hot new color in cabinetry. This kitchen takes gray and steps it up a notch by using this fabulous color on the classic cabinetry, intricate tile back splash and leathered island counter top. Adding a few ice blue accents makes this kitchen a winner. The hanging lights add layers to the room and really elevate it, while the unique designs of the cabinets make the room extremely stylish and chic.
