This patio may look like wood, but it is in fact a concrete paver! The paver is a Techo-Bloc product called Borealis. Its natural wood grain surface mimics the beauty of wood, yet gives us the durability of concrete pavers. The pavers were laid directly over the existing concrete patio, which was still in good shape with minimal cracking and settling.
The lovely couple that lives here wanted a new cedar pergola. But what they ended up with was that and an entirely new and cool back patio space that will last for years and years!

This 2014 Luxury Home was part of Midwest Home's Tour. David Kopfmann of Yardscapes, was able to lend to the architecture of the home and create some very detailed touches with different styles of stone and plant material. This image is of the side yard, where David used mortared limestone for the fireplace and a concrete paver for the patio. He used plant material to create texture and color. Boulder outcroppings were also used to lend some interest and retaining along the walkway.

Hanging baskets for now but the homeowner will eventually plant vines to grow up and over the arbor, creating a "doorway" to the dining area. Pavers are Anchor Charleston - the untumbled version - color: Northwoods.

The warm tones and undulating shape of this paver patio make for a soft feeling in an expansive space. Planter walls and steps in coordinating block of the same color finish off the space. Design and installation by Merrifield Garden Center.

These homeowners wanted to maintain their home's existing tropical mediterranean vibes, so we enhanced their space with accenting multi-tone pavers. These paving stones are rich in color and texture, adding to the existing beauty of their home. Artificial turf was added in for drought tolerance and low maintenance. Landscape lighting flows throughout the front and the backyard. Lastly, they requested a water feature to be included on their private backyard patio for added relaxation and ambiance.

This sloped backyard was a jungle, full of overgrown plants. The water coming off the slope pitched towards the home creating drainage and water issues in the basement. Our solution was to create a large patio for entertaining using Permeable Pavers which allow water to pass between the joints acting like a large catch basin.

The color of the Belgard Dublin 3 piece pavers is "Toscana" for the band area. The dimensions of the bench in this project was 23' long in a backward "S" pattern. The seats are 22" Deep and the back rest is 18" High from the seat; which includes the top cap. The top paver cap is 10" and sits back from the front, with only an inch forward. Also for comfort when you lean back. There are 6 seat cushions made with Sunbrella fabric and they are 3" high for extra comfort.
