SeaThru is a new, waterfront, modern home. SeaThru was inspired by the mid-century modern homes from our area, known as the Sarasota School of Architecture. This homes designed to offer more than the standard, ubiquitous rear-yard waterfront outdoor space. A central courtyard offer the residents a respite from the heat that accompanies west sun, and creates a gorgeous intermediate view fro guest staying in the semi-attached guest suite, who can actually SEE THROUGH the main living space and enjoy the bay views. Noble materials such as stone cladding, oak floors, composite wood louver screens and generous amounts of glass lend to a relaxed, warm-contemporary feeling not typically common to these types of homes. This remodel to an existing home updates the interior, creating contemporary spatial features and new materiality. The existing home has a unique style that was used to inspire the forms that define the spaces. The new finishes cater to the homeowners distinct taste in elegant textures. The project scope was limited to the most commonly used spaces: kitchen, living room and main entry corridor. The inclusion of a large multi-slide door and interior glass railing emphasize the tranquil canyon views and flow between rooms. This project is a great example of how limited updates can transform the feel of an existing home while still keeping the overall character intact. Construction Type: Addition/Remodel

Backyard string lights, custom cut to fit the space. 4 x 4 wood post were installed to support one end of the string light runs, otherwise the lights wouldn't be high enough to walk under.
