This house is so full of character, included this exposed brick wall! To compliment the brick, rather than compete with it, we kept the fireplace in a simple marble mosaic. A desire for a more modern and zen-like environment in a historical, turn of the century stone and stucco house was the drive and challenge for this sophisticated Siemasko + Verbridge Interiors project. Along with a fresh color palette, new furniture is woven with antiques, books, and artwork to enliven the space. Carefully selected finishes enhance the openness of the glass pool structure, without competing with the grand ocean views. Thoughtfully designed cabinetry and family friendly furnishings, including a kitchenette, billiard area, and home theater, were designed for both kids and adults.

We have a nice wood hood here, it's not too flashy, not trying to compete with the view, but it has its own lovely and graceful presence.

The matching vanity top and shower pan were chosen from cultered crushed granite, to avoid having them compete with the new tile, and tile accents. The vanity itself was shortened up 6" and reused. The toilet also had to be shifted 8". These adjustments were made to accomodate the deeper shower

First floor play room pops with color found on the futon, kid's table and chairs, the coffee table bench and through art and accessories. The neutral backdrop lets the space breathe and the colors don't compete.

Inspiration for a large rustic brown two-story wood gable roof remodel

Before the gut remodel, these two adjacent spaces lacked the cool Midcentury style the homeowners craved The kitchen was our main focus, but dining room was also part of the design, because the rooms have such a strong relationship to each other. We consulted on furniture and lighting in that room, making sure the two light fixtures (one over the sink, the other over the dining table) didn't compete for attention. The harmony of the spaces was achieved by keeping to a neutral color palette and an emphasis on textural accents: the stone back splash, the woven rug, the voluminous light fixture, the table runner and so on.
