All plants were removed. The existing soil was heavily amended with composted cattle manure and worm castings to add much needed nutrients and hold moisture closer to the surface. Rain water was redirected into the garden to provide natural irrigation and give the new plantings a chance to compete with the Maple Trees. Updated photos to come in 2018 as this garden fills in and blooms.

This smart kitchen renovation in Silver Spring, Maryland, involved removing three walls and a centrally located powder room and a closet. The powder room was relocated into the original closet area, and the patio door moved nearby. The main window was enlarged to create an anchor and focal point for the new kitchen as well as to enhance the view onto the lovely backyard. An angled island keeps the room feeling spacious and open, and a corner pantry was designed so as not to lose precious storage space.

The sleek ultra-contemporary cabinetry with the added flair of the chevron natural stone backsplash and Caesarstone counter top really pops with the classic Mexican Saltillo tile flooring as a quiet back dropin this cooks dream kitchen which competes with the stunning view of the City.

The strié of a Tillbury carpet chosen by Jesse Carrier and Mara Miller for this study adds texture without competing with the bolder textiles of curtains and upholstery.

This large, devout family in West LA hired us to make their new construction, storybook traditional home dreams come true. And we had such a joy in working with them and love the end result. Small touches of contemporary lighting and art make the space feel updated and fresh, while materials and forms of the furnishings lent themselves to a truly timeless result. The basketweave backsplash lends beautiful interest while not competing with the cabinet design. We love a good traditional design, and had a wonderful time with this project and these clients.

The large hexagon tiles were grouted with bright white to keep the pattern subtle so it wouldn't compete with the dramatic patterned floor. The island lights, stainless steel appliances and glass front upper cabinets add a bit of sparkle to the space.

Inspiration for a transitional home design remodel in New York

This is the third space we have competed for this homeowner (master bath, kitchen, & hall bath). Though not the master, this hall bath will serve as the spa-retreat for the home. It features a glass accent wall, marble mosaic floor, and a deep soaking tub. Wall color is Spinach White by Sherwin Williams.
