The Renovation of this home held a host of issues to resolve. The original fireplace was awkward and the ceiling was very complex. The original fireplace concept was designed to use a 3-sided fireplace to divide two rooms which became the focal point of the Great Room. For this particular floor plan since the Great Room was open to the rest of the main floor a sectional was the perfect choice to ground the space. It did just that! We use rock and stone where it makes hydrologic and ecological sense in our waters. We do not use stone excessively since it is expensive and is very often over-done which results in unnatural appearing ponds. 30 years of experience as Biologists has shown us extensive rock and stone features in the wild. We paid attention and bring that to our projects to incorporate the exact correct materials in elements such as waterfalls, pools, riffles and shorelines. Each element calls for a particular geometry of materials. Using the same rock in a waterfall as in a riffle or stream makes for a contrived artificial appearance. You may not be able to verbalize the error, but when you see the finished habitat, you will feel the difference. Our responsibility is to know the difference and employ it. In this expansive Argyle estate kitchen remodel, one island simply wasn't enough. We designed and built a stunning Double Island configuration to separate the "work zone" from the "entertainment zone." This project showcases the full power of The Design House's vertical integration—coordinating complex stone fabrication, custom cabinetry, and structural beam installation under one single contract. The "One-Stop" Execution: The Showpiece Island: The primary island features a massive slab of Fantasy Brown Stone with dramatic movement. Because we own Stonemeyer Granite, we handled the delicate vein-matching and fabrication in-house, ensuring the natural flow of the stone wasn't interrupted by poor seams. The Prep Island: To balance the drama, the secondary island features a clean, durable Pure White Quartz, providing a bulletproof surface for food prep and serving. Architectural Details: We installed exposed cedar beams to draw the eye upward to the vaulted ceilings, adding warmth to the modern black-and-white palette. This Medina garage condo remodel combines the best of old and new. Our client wanted to incorporate a vintage gas pump, so we created a design with a unique retro-style “gas station” for the lower half of the garage. Integrated brick acts as the exterior of the “gas station” as well as a wall between each room. Upstairs, you’ll notice a more modern design, with cable handrail features in the overlook, working as a “window” into the lower level. The loft provides a beautiful kitchen with modern farmhouse touches, including an island with shiplap details, custom cabinetry, and rustic lighting fixtures. The goal of this loft was to create a great space for entertaining, which is made evident by the great island and overlook bar incorporated into the railing. By extending the facade of the gas station to the ceiling, the Gonyea Transformations team created a great entertainment nook and privacy wall to form a relaxed environment in the upper-level loft.
