The views from this Big Sky home are captivating! Before the shovels were in the ground, we just knew that blurring the palette between the inside and outside was the key to creating a harmonious living experience.
“Thoughtfully merging technology with design, we worked closely with the design and creative community to compose a unified space that both inspires and functions without distracting from the remarkable location and gorgeous architecture. Our goal was to elevate the space aesthetically and sonically. I think we accomplished that and then some.” – Stephanie Gilboy, SAV Digital Environments

This 7,500 square feet home, situated on a waterfront site in Sag Harbor, New York, was designed as a shared vacation home for four brothers and their families. A collaborative effort between the clients and Cecil Baker + Partners yielded a contemporary home that pays homage to the Eastern Long Island vernacular.
The home is composed of three distinct volumes that step back from one another to optimize both the water view and privacy. The two outer wings take on familiar cedar-clad, pitched roof geometry while the central three-story glass box links them together and anchors the home. The two car garage, with a private living space above, projects from the main house via a breezeway, defining a private garden.
The interior of the home integrates warm, tactile materials and clean modern lines. The use of full-height windows, floor-to-ceiling glass curtain wall, and an operable overhead glass door creates an indoor-outdoor living experience and floods the home with natural light. The subtle choreography of the interior space lends flexibility to the Client for both social and private uses of the home.
The first floor contains an open plan for the kitchen, living room, dining area and sunroom, and the second floor includes two full master suites facing the bay, a guest room with spectacular water views, and a children's room that overlooks the garden. The fully finished basement holds a large playroom, a gym, a full spa bath and a wine cellar. In addition, views in all directions are unobstructed from a third floor roof terrace.

Our firm is currently undertaking a full-home interior renovation that reimagines the residence with elevated materials, thoughtful spatial planning, and modern luxury throughout. The transformation begins with a completely redesigned primary bathroom suite featuring elegant marble flooring, large-format porcelain wall tile, and new brass plumbing fixtures. The space is centered around a deep soaking tub with a 43-inch television mounted above, complemented by integrated surround sound to create a spa-like retreat that balances comfort and sophistication.
Adjacent to the suite, the primary bedroom sitting area has been refreshed with new engineered wood flooring that flows seamlessly throughout the upper levels of the home. The space incorporates sculptural glass wall sconces, premium built-in cabinetry, a 63-inch television, and an entirely new furniture layout designed to enhance both relaxation and functionality. Two additional bathrooms on the top floor echo the home’s cohesive design language, utilizing porcelain floor and shower tile, newly installed cabinetry, and warm bronze hardware to create timeless yet durable spaces.
Moving downstairs, the foyer makes an immediate statement with a six-foot grand chandelier composed of crystal and polished nickel, establishing a dramatic focal point upon entry. Just off the foyer, the powder room introduces a more intimate and layered design, featuring stone elements, darker wall tones, decorative wallpaper, and a custom wall-mounted marble sink. The space is further elevated with a smart toilet and a custom semi-coffered ceiling that adds architectural interest.
The kitchen serves as the heart of the home and has been fully reimagined with semi-custom cabinetry, professional-grade appliances, and distinctive gold welded wire mesh featured in many of the upper cabinet doors. Undercabinet LED lighting enhances both functionality and ambiance, while brass footrails invite guests to comfortably gather in the space. Quartz countertops and a full-height quartz backsplash complete the design, while thoughtful hidden features—such as pullout trash cans, a mixer lift, cutlery dividers, and other integrated storage solutions—ensure everyday convenience.
Engineered wood flooring runs throughout the kitchen and upper two levels, tying the home together with warmth and continuity. Most walls across these floors have been painted in Benjamin Moore 983 “Smokey Taupe,” while many of the ceilings feature “Silhouette” in a flat finish, adding subtle contrast and depth to the interiors.
Stay tuned for more reveals from this project, including the fully designed basement level, which will feature a private gym, bar, and theater space. Finished photography of this remarkable home will be coming soon.

Located in one of İzmir’s most exclusive villas, this refined project brings together architectural elegance and the technical excellence of Serapool porcelain. Inspired by nature, the Piazza Green Series enhances the swimming area with soothing green hues and a natural stone texture, creating a tranquil atmosphere that blends harmoniously with the surrounding landscape. Composed of 100% porcelain tiles, the surfaces feature a water absorption rate below 0.5%, ensuring long-lasting durability. With superior UV resistance, chemical resistance, and thermal shock durability, the materials stand up to outdoor conditions. A PTV ≥ 45° anti-slip rating guarantees maximum safety on wet surfaces. Porcelain stair non-slip pieces and porcelain pool copings deliver both aesthetic continuity and functional integrity at transition points. More than just a swimming space, this application redefines luxury living by uniting elegance, safety, and comfort in a single, cohesive design.

dale cohen designstudio has gathered her favorite artists, designers and purveyors in an installation at the Sag Harbor architectural landmark The Watchcase Project by Cape Advisors. Populating a Watchcase Townhouse with vibrant visual practitioners, Dale has composed a series of rooms that speak to the exquisite quality of space, light, and scale in the Watchcase Project. She has selected a group of artists mostly from the East End.
She has responded to the rooms, staircases, and walls by applying kinetic color and imagery with a contemporary take. And Dale recruited Annie Coggan and Caleb Crawford to do their own room they’ve named the Melville Room. They gathered a series of their work, a practice called Didactic Decorative Objects and inspired by the Sag Harbor Whaling Museum. Researching the work of Herman Melville, who speaks of Sag Harbor is his epic Moby Dick.
The art installation is accompanied by design greats, FritzHansen, Vitra, vintage Knoll and Swedish design company Overman, contemporary and vintage rugs by Doris Leslie Blau, mohair rug by Sacco, fabrics by Fischbacher for Stark and Knoll Luxe, and pillows from Maharam, all to make a dynamic conversation in a domestic setting.

THE CHALLENGE: Transform an outdated and compartmentalized 1950’s era home into an open, light filled, modern residence fit for a young and growing family.
THE SOLUTION: Juxtaposition was the name of the game. Dark floors contrast light walls; small spaces are enlarged by clean layouts; soft textures balance hard surfaces. Balanced opposites create a composed, family friendly residence.

The design leans on warmth and restraint. Terracotta tiles set a grounded, earthy base, while pale stone countertops and light wood cabinetry bring softness and continuity. Built-ins—like the banquette seating—make the space feel tailored, almost seamless. The lighting fixture is sculptural and minimal, a counterpoint to the quiet surfaces, giving the room a touch of modern art. Altogether, it’s a careful balance of natural textures and clean geometry, both inviting and composed.

A perfectly proportioned story and a half cottage, the Farfield is full of traditional details and charm. The front is composed of matching board and batten gables flanking a covered porch featuring square columns with pegged capitols. A tour of the rear façade reveals an asymmetrical elevation with a tall living room gable anchoring the right and a low retractable-screened porch to the left.
Inside, the front foyer opens up to a wide staircase clad in horizontal boards for a more modern feel. To the left, and through a short hall, is a study with private access to the main levels public bathroom. Further back a corridor, framed on one side by the living rooms stone fireplace, connects the master suite to the rest of the house. Entrance to the living room can be gained through a pair of openings flanking the stone fireplace, or via the open concept kitchen/dining room. Neutral grey cabinets featuring a modern take on a recessed panel look, line the perimeter of the kitchen, framing the elongated kitchen island. Twelve leather wrapped chairs provide enough seating for a large family, or gathering of friends. Anchoring the rear of the main level is the screened in porch framed by square columns that match the style of those found at the front porch. Upstairs, there are a total of four separate sleeping chambers. The two bedrooms above the master suite share a bathroom, while the third bedroom to the rear features its own en suite. The fourth is a large bunkroom above the homes two-stall garage large enough to host an abundance of guests.

The best architecture allows what has come before it to be seen and cared for while at the same time injecting something new, if not idealistic. Spartan at first glance, the interior of this stately apartment building, located on the iconic Passeig de Gràcia in Barcelona, quickly begins to unfold as a calculated series of textures, visual artifacts and perfected aesthetic continuities.
The client, a globe-trotting entrepreneur, selected Jeanne Schultz Design Studio for the remodel and requested that the space be reconditioned into a purposeful and peaceful landing pad. It was to be furnished simply using natural and sustainable materials. Schultz began by gently peeling back before adding only the essentials, resulting in a harmoniously restorative living space where darkness and light coexist and comfort reigns.
The design was initially guided by the fireplace—from there a subtle injection of matching color extends up into the thick tiered molding and ceiling trim. “The most reckless patterns live here,” remarks Schultz, referring to the checkered green and white tiles, pink-Pollack-y stone and cast iron detailing. The millwork and warm wood wall panels devour the remainder of the living room, eliminating the need for unnecessary artwork.
A curved living room chair by Kave Home punctuates playfully; its shape reveals its pleasant conformity to the human body and sits back, inviting rest and respite. “It’s good for all body types and sizes,” explains Schultz. The single sofa by Dareels is purposefully oversized, casual and inviting. A beige cover was added to soften the otherwise rectilinear edges. Additionally sourced from Dareels, a small yet centrally located side table anchors the space with its dark black wood texture, its visual weight on par with the larger pieces. The black bulbous free standing lamp converses directly with the antique chandelier above. Composed of individual black leather strips, it is seemingly harsh—yet its soft form is reminiscent of a spring tulip.
The continuation of the color palette slips softly into the dining room where velvety green chairs sit delicately on a cascade array of pointed legs. The doors that lead out to the patio were sanded down and treated so that the original shape and form could be retained. Although the same green paint was used throughout, this set of doors speaks in darker tones alongside the acute and penetrating daylight. A few different shades of white paint were used throughout the space to add additional depth and embellish this shadowy texture.
Specialty lights were added into the space to complement the existing overhead lighting. A wall sconce was added in the living room and extra lighting was placed in the kitchen. However, because of the existing barrel vaulted tile ceiling, sconces were placed on the walls rather than above to avoid penetrating the existing architecture.
