Located in Menlo Park, California, this 3,000 sf. remodel was carefully crafted to generate excitement and make maximum use of the owner’s strict budget and comply with the city’s stringent planning code. It was understood that not everything was to be redone from a prior owner’s quirky remodel which included odd inward angled walls, circular windows and cedar shingles. Remedial work to remove and prevent dry rot ate into the budget as well. Studied alterations to the exterior include a new trellis over the garage door, pushing the entry out to create a new soaring stair hall and stripping the exterior down to simplify its appearance. The new steel entry stair leads to a floating bookcase that pivots to the family room. For budget reasons, it was decided to keep the existing cedar shingles. Upstairs, a large oak multi-level staircase was replaced with the new simple run of stairs. We converted an underused back yard into a modern outdoor living space. Functions include a cedar soaking tub, outdoor shower, fire pit, and dining area. Large rustic exterior home idea in New York

The owners of this home in Mount Vernon Alexandria, converted the Lower level carport into an enclosed sunroom, with optional garage space, an unfinished attic space was turned into a game room with a ping pong table, and future study for their loved grandchildren. There is added extra space footage to the attic space, a cedar closet, new French doors, direct & indirect lighting, new skylight lights to brighten up the attic, triple triangle window, etched glass garage doors, extra garage space, and used client’s provided wooded door connecting the sunroom to the patio.

We converted this screened porch to a Four Seasons Sunroom System 230 Walls Shade Straight room. The room has sliding windows of high performance Conserva-Glass Select and screens. Removed existing ceiling and exposed wood beams to give the room a larger feeling but comfortably warm.

The split back sofa bed by Innovation living is sleek modern Danish design with a bit of mid-century flair. The seating cushion contains a pocketed coil spring, giving the slitting and sleeping area a little rebound give. Each back rest individually reclines in several positions for reclining. The back rests will recline flat to function as a bed for overnight guests.
