Designer Showhouse renovation of The Burt Family Farm in Cashiers, North Carolina. This bathroom was completely renovated. We painted the worn paneled walls a rich cream, and updated the tile with a handsome travertine floor and wall tile. As a nod to the mountain location, we custom designed this woodland creature print and made a roman shade and shower curtain to give the space character. The beautiful farm style console sink modernized the plumbing but maintained the cottage aesthetic of the bath.

We chose a temporary wall covering for the back wall of the shelves that celebrates the room owner's current passion for woodland creatures but allows for easy removal when her tastes change in time. Our customer Lenore bought an antique French Henry II buffet in the Hunting style for her open dining room with rustic exposed logs in her mountain cabin or cottage. The 1920 antique buffet is heavily carved with a scene of a hunter and stag o the upper cabinet. The lower cabinet doors are carved with fantastic dragon-like creatures.

We designed this beautiful cedar shake home with a metal roof and oyster shell embedded tabby fireplace. The pool is the heart of this home! The glass roll up garage door brings the outside in, and allows for entertaining to flow freely. Lots of outdoor space for lounging and soaking up the sun. An extra living space above the 3 car garage, including a kitchen area, enables guests to visit while providing access to some of the creature comforts of home. The crowning touch is the cupolas that allows for a 360 degree view, including spectacular views of the ocean.

We designed a lovely mudroom in this 1830's home entryway. The seat features walnut from a tree on property. And the cabinets are our personal custom line: Studio 76 Home cabinetry. We also added shiplap on the wall and open storage above and below.

Within the porch, there are many custom finish details that help tie the whole space together with the home. These include painting the brick wall gray in keeping with the color palette chosen for this project along with an alternate exit/entry by way of a single screened door that descends into a custom hardscape path leading to the garage and driveway. We also made sure no creature comfort was overlooked in this porch design. The porch has infrared radiant heating, ceiling fans, recessed canned lighting and an integrated sound system.
