This remodel was so much fun! Our client's 10 year old daughter wanted to change her bright pink horse themed room into her shades of peach woodland creatures "big girl" room. We love all of the textures and the new layout, which provided space for a reading area. A fresh new look for a super cute kid!

We designed this beautiful cedar shake home with a metal roof and oyster shell embedded tabby fireplace. The pool is the heart of this home! The glass roll up garage door brings the outside in, and allows for entertaining to flow freely. Lots of outdoor space for lounging and soaking up the sun. An extra living space above the 3 car garage, including a kitchen area, enables guests to visit while providing access to some of the creature comforts of home. The crowning touch is the cupolas that allows for a 360 degree view, including spectacular views of the ocean.

One of my favorite spaces to design are those that bring the outdoors in while capturing the luxurious comforts of home. This screened-in porch captures that concept beautifully with weather resistant drapery, all weather furnishings, and all the creature comforts of an indoor family room.

The owners of this magnificent fly-in/ fly-out lodge had a vision for a home that would showcase their love of nature, animals, flying and big game hunting. Featured in the 2011 Design New York Magazine, we are proud to bring this vision to life.
Chuck Smith, AIA, created the architectural design for the timber frame lodge which is situated next to a regional airport. Heather DeMoras Design Consultants was chosen to continue the owners vision through careful interior design and selection of finishes, furniture and lighting, built-ins, and accessories.
HDDC's involvement touched every aspect of the home, from Kitchen and Trophy Room design to each of the guest baths and every room in between. Drawings and 3D visualization were produced for built in details such as massive fireplaces and their surrounding mill work, the trophy room and its world map ceiling and floor with inlaid compass rose, custom molding, trim & paneling throughout the house, and a master bath suite inspired by and Oak Forest. A home of this caliber requires and attention to detail beyond simple finishes. Extensive tile designs highlight natural scenes and animals. Many portions of the home received artisan paint effects to soften the scale and highlight architectural features. Artistic balustrades depict woodland creatures in forest settings. To insure the continuity of the Owner's vision, we assisted in the selection of furniture and accessories, and even assisted with the selection of windows and doors, exterior finishes and custom exterior lighting fixtures.
Interior details include ceiling fans with finishes and custom detailing to coordinate with the other custom lighting fixtures of the home. The Dining Room boasts of a bronze moose chandelier above the dining room table. Along with custom furniture, other touches include a hand stitched Mennonite quilt in the Master Bedroom and murals by our decorative artist.

This landscape is fit for fairies and magical creatures! Landscape lighting along a winding path, a bridge over a small stream and around the pergola and patio twinkles to lead the eye — and visitors — throughout the property after the sun goes down.

Kowabungalo... on an edge of a valley rim falling off to the Aspen Valley. Breathtaking view to Mount Soprus and up the valley to Aspen. Side view to a heavy thicket natural area with deer and wild creatures... Amazing at night with the lights from the valley.

Thoughtfully designed wall storage and display shelving can be a wall moment that transforms everyday storage into an artistic focal point. Built-in cabinetry is elevated with luxurious grasscloth-paneled doors, whimsical antique brass dragon serpant hardware and art deco style wallpaper behind. The upper sea creature cabinet pulls and lower Asian inspired cabinet hardware add unexpected design touches to the otherwise structured unit. A striking collection of dark, matte and glossy ceramics is artfully arranged on the shelf and a plaid curtain in complementary tones softens the edge of the space, tying the entire palette together with sophistication.

On the interior of the patio cover, we used a beautiful pine tongue and groove ceiling. The ceiling is stained in dark Walnut to give it a rustic appeal. We also stained the cedar posts in extra dark Walnut. We also included all the creature comforts you would expect in one of our custom designs… these include two ceiling fans, recessed can lighting and six speakers.

The aim of the Legno Venezia collection is to continue the life of the typical Venetian briccole, sculpted by the industriousness of sea creatures, in the houses in the form of floors, walls and furniture panels. The series resulting from the latest innovative production line recently activated by Laminam offers the versions Laminam 3 (1000x3000), and Laminam 5 (1000x3000) that offer three different wood species in Sand, Rope and Smoke, to satisfy all tastes and styles.

A collection of the favourite native species. Designed in house by the talented artistic team, these British produced ceramic tiles feature a number of our much loved native creatures. Who can resist the proud stag, inquisitive hare or striding pheasant? Not us.

The symmetry continues with twin pocket gardens featuring topiary standards which flank the pool’s walk-in steps. At the opposite end a lounge area with comfortable outdoor sofa, plus a cabana with change room and storage, provide all the essential creature comforts.
