Inspiration for a transitional dining room remodel in Chicago with gray walls

Benefiting from varied stone and gravel hardscapes, this back yard is used in many ways. Transitions are marked with a change in structure of paths, walls, and features. The dining area is defined by a seat wall that ends where the fire feature area starts. Garden beds surround the space as an accent, softening the space. You can see the dairy run, range, and then in the right foreground, a sliver of counter with a wall cabinet being used as a base cab underneath. With stock cabinets, it helps to be creative. This light and airy kitchen is the definition of elegance. It has white shaker cabinets with satin gold pulls topped with white quartz counters. The matching white quartz backsplash provides a clean look. The center piece of the room is the large island! With seating for four, the deep blue island is loaded with storage and has a drawer microwave. For a special touch on the white quartz counter, we used an extra thick quartz slab. The striking gold pendants are from Ferguson Lighting. Sleek and contemporary, this beautiful home is located in Villanova, PA. Blue, white and gold are the palette of this transitional design. With custom touches and an emphasis on flow and an open floor plan, the renovation included the kitchen, family room, butler’s pantry, mudroom, two powder rooms and floors. The FlexVase consists of a base part with three different inserts. The inserts can be exchanged to adapt the vase to the bouquet it holds. Based on the canning jar principle, a practical clip holds the pieces together while giving the vase a simple decoration.
