During the late 1800s and early 1900s, many farmers who lived in the fertile valleys of Pennsylvania’s Susquehanna River and Allegheny Mountains grew tobacco. Using a mixture of pine species as siding, floor joists and roof rafters, they constructed barns for drying tobacco – a unique process that gave what we call tobacco pine its heavily mixed color and character (without odor). Tobacco-stained pine hardwood flooring creates a unique, “old pine” appearance with deep, rich shades of brown and red intermingled with the wood’s original honey color. This dark, naturally weathered look will help you add warmth and charm to a more rustic décor.

Bedroom - modern bedroom idea in Orange County

The kitchen features a sophisticated mix of clean white cabinets and a large, dark wood central island. To the left, is a built-in hutch/coffee drink station in a bright saturated teal. Luxurious white countertops with light grey veining wrap the surfaces.Three large glass cloche pendant lights hang from a coffered ceiling, adding a touch of artisan flair. The island is paired with four eclectic dark wood stools from Baker Furniture featuring an intricate lattice-back design and pale blue cushions.

Linda did this Naples cottage bedroom in a navy and white nautical flavor. The planked wood beamed cathedral ceiling painted in a crisp white really sets off the deep, navy painted walls. The white roman shades with navy banding don't deminish the ocean views. A Lexington Ocean club king bed, nite stands, and armoire are a sharp and masculine look with a touch of the island in the woven bed bench. Deep rich dark wide planked wood floors set off the Capel outdoor area rug and navy and white bedding completes the picture.

New Moroccan Villa on the Santa Barbara Riviera, overlooking the Pacific ocean and the city. In this terra cotta and deep blue home, we used natural stone mosaics and glass mosaics, along with custom carved stone columns. Every room is colorful with deep, rich colors. In the master bath we used blue stone mosaics on the groin vaulted ceiling of the shower. All the lighting was designed and made in Marrakesh, as were many furniture pieces. The entry black and white columns are also imported from Morocco. We also designed the carved doors and had them made in Marrakesh. Cabinetry doors we designed were carved in Canada. The carved plaster molding were made especially for us, and all was shipped in a large container (just before covid-19 hit the shipping world!) Classic glass paneled doors that lead into a refrigerated wine cellar. Making the most of Amber Blaze Mahogany as the primary wood choice and completing the look with Classic Mahongany stain finish was definitely a winning combo. Look at how the marble slab floorings set-off the deep, rich color of the wood. And the raised panel ceiling adds just the right touch, especially with the LED lighting. That lovely wine cellar art is displayed to its full potential, owing to all the elements coming into place.

The octagonal coffer ceiling design of the Living Room was derived from a similar antique ceiling installed in the Library of the Hearst Castle in California. The floors of are wide plank solid walnut boards with a deep rich stain. Eclectic antiques accent contemporary furnishings in a comfortable mix of the classical and the modern. Remodeled from a funky old house built in the 60's on Oxnard Shores. This little white cottage has the master bedroom, a playroom, guest bedroom and girls' bunk room upstairs, while downstairs there is a 1960s feel family room with an industrial modern style bar for the family's many parties and celebrations. A great room open to the dining area with a zinc dining table and rattan chairs. Fireplace features custom iron doors, and green glass tile surround. New white cabinets and bookshelves flank the real wood burning fire place. Simple clean white cabinetry in the kitchen with x designs on glass cabinet doors and peninsula ends. Durable, beautiful white quartzite counter tops and yes! porcelain planked floors for durability! The girls can run in and out without worrying about the beach sand damage!.
