I am writing on behalf of myself and the parishioners of Holy Trinity Anglican Church to thank you for the beautiful door you donated to us. We truly appreciate your generosity and thoughtfulness in doing this. It will certainly make a great difference to our church both in terms of security and keeping out the elements. Moreover, the great care you took, in matching the style and colour of the wood ensures that it not only complements the other woodwork but adds to the overall appeal in this heritage church.
Many thanks,

The doors are works of art, particularly the cherry storm door. The attention to detail in the measuring, manufacturing and installing of the doors was exceptional. Everyone at Yarrow has been helpful and professional. Project cost with new hardware just over $10,000. The project did take a long time but worth the wait.

I have had the occasion to work with Mick and Yarrow Sash and Door a few times over the past 15 years or so. On the first project, they built windows and doors for the Alloway Reception Centre at Fort Whyte Alive in Winnipeg, out of original growth cedar harvested from salvaged hydro poles. More recently, they built a unique front door and adjacent siding out of walnut for a modern residence in Winnipeg. On both projects the quality was excellent and the components were produced in a timely manner. But more important to me as an architect, is their "can-do" attitude which is helpful and necessary to making uniquely appropriate and beautiful things possible.

We live in a Queen Anne Revival home in Kenora, ON and have used Yarrow Sash and Door throughout our renovation and the renovation of a rental home we own. They have reproduced two doors for us, manufactured several screen doors and designed and produced other custom doors and storm windows as well.
They are professional and their craftsmen are skilled.
We are very happy with their services and will use them again!

I recently built a new home and was looking for a front entry door. My builder did not have a solution I was happy with so I went to Yarrow. I wasn't sure of what I wanted, but they helped me design a beautiful door.. They used quarter sawn red oak and added copper panels that have developed an amazing patina. The door is oversized in width and height and is 2-1/4 inches thick, so it makes quite a statement. We particularly like the weight of the door as it makes it feel secure and substantial. It is also the first thing our guests are greeted by upon visiting our home. Invariably first time visitors to our home complement us on its weight and unique look. We are extremely satisfied with our purchase and would recommend Yarrow.

We are extremely pleased with our new entry doors from Yarrow Sash & Door. From first discussions with Mick to completed installation Yarrow has been an absolute pleasure to deal with. Mick had some wonderful ideas for design, materials and colours. In fact, this was a part of a larger project and the designer hired for the project had nothing to add and no suggested changes from Mick's suggestions - they integrated that well with the rest of what we were doing. The installation team was respectful of our needs, prompt, courteous and communicated well throughout. We have received compliments on our new entry system from everyone who has walked in the door since installation.

If you need anything "custom" Yarrow is your place.
They have made some new heritage-style wood windows and doors for our house and our summer kitchen.
They've done extensive work on our existing heritage windows.
And we bought custom Marvin windows from Yarrow for our basement.
Mick the owner is always willing to think outside the box on custom projects.
The installers who put in our basement windows did a neat job and were courteous.
Be prepared to wait for your project though. Custom work doesn't happen overnight.

We hired Yarrow Sash and Door to replace all the windows and select doors in our heritage church, the St. Peter & St. Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Sundown, Manitoba, Canada. All replacement was consistent with the original doors and windows i.e. 6 or 9 pane windows, 5 panel doors, etc. The staff are very knowledgable of heritage styles and the product they manufacture is excellent. The installation was challenging as the building is 75 years old. Parts, but not all of the window frame, required repair or replacement.. Their workmanship was impeccable. The windows were installed without damage to the original interior and fitted with edging to promote water run off and to maximize sustainability. The staff were respectful of the existing building and site and took care to leave it in good condition.
They providing detailed and timely estimates, worked with us to understand our needs and budgets, and final charges were accurate to estimates. I would not hesitate to recommend Yarrow for heritage or other work.

I got 12 new windows from Yarrow & Sash. Staff came to my home a number of times in the design process, also sent proofs by email for my approval. When I didn't understand something, staff patiently explained, and when the design wasn't exactly right staff worked on it until it was "just right", finding creative solutions to meet my needs. Staff put the original interior shutters back on, making necessary adjustments so they fit perfectly. The windows are a stunning feature of my heritage home! I love how easily they open, and the high quality screens that are almost see-through.
Staff have high integrity - when the owner examined some windows that were drafty (I wondered if they needed replacement, as well), he told me the windows only needed new weather stripping around the openings, and they're good for "another 10 years". Replacement of weather stripping on 3 windows was included in the job, and latches to pull the window tightly shut were installed - this solved the problem. Most companies would have wanted to sell me more windows!
If you care are preserving the heritage look of the windows in your house - this is the best company out there.

Very Impressed with the Service, from the first phone call, to the estimate, through to final install. The Crew that came to the house was top notch, very caring of our home, and took great pride in their work. Very friendly and easy to talk to. One of the windows had a small defect, and it was pointed out to me at install, and a new sash was ordered to replace it. (I may not have even noticed this issue, so that was really appreciated).

Yarrow installed new custom built wood doors and windows in my home this year. The doors they built are of the highest quality. The windows were custom ordered from Marvin Windows. I am extremely pleased with the quality of both the doors and windows. But I was most impressed by the service and the installation. The young crew was terrific. Mark, the crew leader, was fabulous! He is very experienced despite being (relatively) young. He pays attention to detail and obviously takes a lot of pride in his work. Friendly, affable and focused on doing a quality job. If you want cheap, go to Home Depot. If you want quality, go to Yarrow. I highly recommend them.
