Creating new kitchens are something we really enjoy, and this wonderful example is another reason why! The old kitchen was more than ready to be put out to pasture, as most are, so we took the opportunity to change it up and add an island to create more functionality and a better traffic flow. New cabinets painted with Benjamin Moore paint finish, Quartz countertops, and a textured backsplash were combined to create a different ambiance in this kitchen. The homeowner chose a "tile look" Duraceramic floor, which offers the look of tile, but is softer and warmer to the foot. A new fridge was still in the works as of these pictures being taken, but the end result is a definite breath of fresh air for this kitchen. Awesome!

The kitchen of your dreams is well within your budget. If you’ve been envisioning something unique in terms of design, we can bring it to life. Kitchen remodeling is not always as simple as it appears. The upgrades must be finished, depending on the size of your kitchen. All you need is a team of experts to guide you through the entire kitchen remodeling process, from design to completion.
From project planning and design to sourcing materials and installation, Cavalier Homes is equipped to undertake every aspect of your kitchen remodel. We take on all of the responsibilities required to complete the kitchen remodeling work on time. Our home remodeling team is dedicated to making your kitchen as spectacular as you have imagined.
Important factors to consider before remodeling your kitchen:
As previously stated, a kitchen renovation can appear to be a massive undertaking. When you choose Cavalier Homes, you’ll be working with a Long Island home remodeling company that has been in business for nearly 40 years. Not only do we have four decades of design and craftsmanship experience, but we also have a professional team that will guide you through the entire kitchen remodeling process.
Here are some crucial factors to take into account in order to maximize the value of your kitchen remodeling service:
#1 Budget:
This is quite an important factor as every home renovation project starts here. Think about the aspects that are important to you before deciding on the overall remodeling budget. If it’s flooring, you should probably spend more money there and perhaps spend less on appliances and lighting.
#2 Design:
Keeping the existing design of your kitchen definitely keeps your budget low, but it may not be possible to realize what you have envisioned. However, walking through our ideas will yield the best results.
Take some time to consider your workflow when remodeling your kitchen. What would work best for your cooking style? Is it easy to move around your kitchen? What happens if your family grows?
#3 Appliances:
Upgrading their current appliances is one of the main reasons homeowners think about remodeling their kitchens. The adjustments that may be necessary to make room for the new appliances must possibly be taken into consideration. We will assist you in preparing the extra wiring, plumbing, and cabinetry.
#4 Countertops and Cabinets:
For a more elegant appearance, choose countertops made of wood, marble, or granite. Wooden surfaces add character and charm while not costing a lot. Solid wood cabinets and slabs of granite, marble, or quartz are classic choices that will never go out of style.
#5 Lighting and Flooring:
These elements can make a significant difference in your kitchen’s appearance, giving it a stunning and unique look.
In addition to the above, you’ll have to compare the costs and benefits of upgrading to current trends versus classic designs. Kitchen renovations remain one of the most popular home improvement projects among the majority of homeowners. Contact us to discuss the design of your new kitchen and how we can assist you in providing the best kitchen remodeling service possible.

This was a full exterior rebuild due to 1 tree falling on the house and a second tree falling on the garage. The exterior features 4 different types of siding including prefinished stained siding by Woodtone, Board and Batten and Cedarmill siding by James Hardie and woodgrain siding by Cemplank. The roofing is OC Duration Designer shingles with dark bronze standing seam accents. The windows are Series 100 by Andersen and the home features an iron door.

Laundry rooms and mudrooms can be a headache for many homeowners. They are usually cramped with poor functionality and little storage space. Joe and Kristin suffered all those aches and more, as their laundry room lacked clothing storage. Shoes were crammed in every corner. There was nowhere to fold clothes without taking them to the kitchen. They were ready for a complete laundry room remodel project.
Joe and Kristin interviewed several local remodeling companies but didn’t connect with anyone who could understand their vision. During the summer, when they were attending their son’s race venue, they noticed fellow kart racers Todd and Christine Jurs’ sponsor banner for their remodeling company, Advance Design Studio. Immediately they were thrilled that they knew someone they trusted who could handle the renovation.
“We wanted someone that we actually knew, who has a little bit more invested than an outside person that we don’t have any ties to,” Kristin said.
Project Designer Nicole Ryan came to their home in Warrenville for the initial consultation. Kristin, an avid HGTV viewer, brought her ideas to Nicole. Throughout the design process, they worked together designing the space, selecting materials, and choosing colors. Nicole made sure to incorporate Kristin’s must-haves into the finished laundry room remodel.
“It was really easy. Nicole made the transition very easy,” Kristin said of Nicole’s work in the design phase of the project. With the materials selected and the drawings finalized, it was time to begin construction. Kristin and Joe were impressed with how quickly and cleanly this phase went.
“Everyone that came in was very respectful, very neat, and that was a big part for me because I didn’t want dust going through the rest of my house,” Kristin said.
The new combination mudroom/laundry room is everything Kristin and Joe hoped. There is plenty of storage, three pull-out laundry hampers for presorting laundry, a large central island for folding clothes, a designated bar to hang dry, and even a unique rotating shoe rack to keep shoes from cluttering the space.
“My rotating shoe rack,” Kristin said when asked what her favorite part of her new laundry room was. “We have four kids. We have a lot of shoes and sporting events. So it makes sense to have all that space for shoes.”
The center island has an exceptional feature as well. It has wheels. Kristin wanted to be able to move the island out of the way for different functions in the room. An island with wheels can be placed wherever needed in the space.
The two existing closets were reconfigured with built-in closet storage systems to make them more functional than before with shelves for baskets holding gloves and hats, umbrellas, and coats.
“They love it,” Project Designer Nicole Ryan said. “They had a vision of how they wanted the space to function but didn’t know exactly how to get it there. My design took all their needs and used the most efficient products to get them the desired outcome. Tons of function, while still looking beautiful!”
The “White” Hudson Panel Dura Supreme cabinetry on the perimeter brightens the space and contrasts the popular blue “Gale Force” Dura Supreme cabinetry of the rolling island. The black and white encaustic design porcelain tile backsplash adds visual interest to the room above the white quartz countertops. Additionally, an oil-rubbed bronze bar for hanging clothes is conveniently located above the washer/dryer, and a stainless-steel under-mount sink with a matching Kohler faucet offers perfect functionality.
“I would definitely recommend Advance Design; they’ve been wonderful. They were so helpful. Any little changes we had, they were able to accommodate,” Kristin said.

Our clients came to us wanting to update their Heather Ridge Estates 2006 Frisco home. They had lived in the home for over 10 years and were ready for a change but didn’t want to move. They lived directly across from Cottonwood Park, so they definitely weren’t going to find that view anywhere else! They wanted to lighten up the kitchen without removing or painting the beautiful dark wood cabinets and they wanted to update two bathrooms. In the master bathroom, they wanted to keep the cabinets but paint them but wanted to gut and replace everything else. They wanted to do the same in the guest bath, which was very traditional. They wanted something more modern with clean lines.
In the kitchen, we installed sleek Silestone Calacatta Gold Quartz- polished countertops with a timeless Emser Motif in Lace White 4x12 backsplash. Class stainless Moen Arbor MotionSense Wave High Arc Kitchen Faucet was installed above their Blanco Silgranit double bowl undermount sink. The existing floors remained as is and they kept their existing pendant lights that hung over the kitchen peninsula but it all looks different now. Before, this kitchen was much darker, but now, it is classic and timeless.
In the master bathroom, the cabinets were painted Sherwin Williams Elephant Ear and topped them with polished Silestone Calacatta Gold Quartz. Greyson vanity lights in polished chrome were installed above each his and hers sinks. Two Kohler Caxton Oval 17x14 under-mount bathroom sinks were installed with polished chrome Kohler Archer sink faucet. The shower was completely gutted and redone. The shower floor is a cool Bedrosians Hemisphere Floor & Wall Mosaic in Balboa tile. Shower sidewalls, as well as the main floor tile, is Purestone 12x24 tile in Bianco Matte Finish. Kohler Artifacts Showerhead with Katalyst Spray in Polished Chrome was installed, as well as a shower arm. Kohler Archer Deck-mount bath faucet in polished chrome was installed. The tub deck was changed to the Purestone 12x24 tile in Bianco with a Matte Finish. Purestone 12x24 tile in Bianco Muretto Textured Finish was used for the Tub/Shower Accent Back Wall.
In their guest bath, everything except the bathtub was replaced. We started with a Shaker style Chiffon painted finish single vanity by Quality Cabinets, topped with polished Silestone Calacatta Gold Quartz. Our clients chose a Kohler Caxton Oval 17x14 under-mount bathroom sink and Kohler Archer Sink Faucet keeping consistency throughout their house. Kohler Archer hardware was also used in the bathtub/shower combo. An Ashton 3 Light 23" wide vanity light with clear glass shades in polished chrome was installed above the 25.6” Travis Round Wood Accent Mirror to finish it off. This bathroom is completely renewed and classic, as is the master bathroom and their kitchen!

These South Shore of Boston homeowners are no different than many recent clients who show an interest in upgrading their dated and aged bathrooms. They are looking to modernize, reflecting today’s bath trends but also desire increased re-sale value with new fixtures, tile and ventilation system. Given the time we spend in our baths, it is not surprising. (A recent Houzz, survey found that 60% of people occupy their bathrooms for at least one hour per day plus 58% of people surveyed said they use their smart phone or tablet to handle a multitude of activities.)
This stunning full bath Renovision involved replacing the existing builder-grade vanity, sink and faucet with striking dark blue cabinetry featuring a bank of three deep drawers on each side of a two-door sink base. This client likes the new standard vanity height, no 34.5” which allows more storage space for cosmetic and cleaning supply items.
Silestone’s Blanco Zeus countertop clearly modernizes the look and feel of this bath and doesn’t take away from the grey wood-look planked porcelain tiled floor which is on trend. The tub/shower walls with niche for shampoos and 3”x6” white subway tiles reflect a classic, clean and fresh look. The curved shower rod provides additional room while showering and its chrome finish ties in with the new shiny fixtures.
Adding a few architectural elements definitely enhanced this bath. Renovisions re-worked the existing closet space with a custom built piece which included open shelving to store bath towels and door(s) on the bottom to accommodate laundry hamper.
This furniture-look closet along with the window, trims and plantation shutters were color matched in the same white painted finish; stylish and sensible indeed!

So, about that blue! I know you’re all wondering… Our clients told us that some of their most fond memories are from being on vacation in the Caribbean. That azure sea and pure white sand – they wanted to recreate the feel in their home. Bold colour is an excellent choice when clients LOVE it. It has to be a colour that they will never tire of, and in this case, it gives the space character and pop, and definitely makes it more fun than… white, grey and sparkles.

Therefore, we invite you to browse on our product portfolio to see the differences in each piece. Our clients came to us wanting to maximize the space they had. They were not planning on moving anytime soon, as they loved their neighborhood. They wanted to renovate the front of their house, which included the front atrium, living room, kitchen, and powder bath. They hated their kitchen because it was completely closed off, had low ceilings, was dark and outdated, not to mention the floors were different in each of these rooms! The pantry was in the breakfast area and the kitchen table became a junk catcher, being the first thing you see when coming in from the garage/laundry room. In their living room, they wanted the spaces on either side of the fireplace to be symmetrical, whether that be bookshelves, a wet bar or closed off. Both parents are working professionals with no time and/or desire to design, create and figure this out on their own. They needed help figuring out how to reconfigure their current space in order to maximize what they already had, as they could not see an obvious solution. They could not envision how it would look so the fact that our designers were able to show them their new kitchen in 3D was pertinent.
We removed the pass-through windows that surrounded the atrium and front dining room, as well as the entire kitchen wall, completely opening up those two rooms. We removed a hall that used to lead between the kitchen and the living room since it was a complete waste of space! The ceilings were raised to 10’ in the kitchen and we were able to leave the skylight, letting in that natural light they wanted. We were able to give them a much larger pantry with tons of shelving and increase the size of their laundry room by utilizing the space of their old breakfast nook.
We relocated the door to the garage into their new elongated laundry room, built a wet bar across from their new larger pantry (with a pocket door) and the flow and functionality of these new spaces is just perfect! All new Waypoint cabinets were installed one two main kitchen surrounding walls painted Linen. Calacatta Bianco Polished Porcelain Tile 4x12 was used for the backsplash. A large eat-at island was installed, painted Stone, where the family can now gather for homework, meals, and mingling. The soft champagne bronze hardware and accent lighting really give this white and gray kitchen a soft classic look.
In the living room, we removed the built-in bookshelves to the left of the fireplace and closed off the wet-bar on the other side, giving them more space in their master suite. White Oak wood flooring, stained Putney, was installed throughout the entire new space, giving it the continuity they were looking for.
In the guest bathroom, Carrara white herringbone marble mosaic 12x12 tile was used on the shower floor and niche, while basic marble Bianco polished 12x24 porcelain tile was used on the walls. Luxart polished chrome traditional hardware gives this timeless bathroom the perfect shine.
Our clients are so happy with the new functionality and look of their space. It has definitely changed their lives in a way they could have never imagined!

This designer client relationship is one based on friendship. Senior Designer Cori Dyer and client have an indescribable partnership and unmentioned understanding when it comes to decorating this home. A vintage charmer with a modern flair, filled with collectables and uncommon goods that make this space a unique and spectacular.
Cori Dyer:
I first met Sally when our boys became friends at Chaminade in 2007.
Since then, we have stayed close and become great friends.
Several years back she asked for my help giving her ideas on ways to spruce things up a bit and work with her on a major remodel.
A little intimidating as Sally has a beautiful home and is an avid collector of vintage finds.... way before the trend of blending old and new was popular.
She has an eye for unique ways to use vintage pieces and incorporating those into some of the most interesting and compelling displays. What has made this design relationship work is simply one of respect. I know when to give her that push outside of her comfort zone and incorporate her collections with selections that work with what she has, but that offer a new spin on putting it all together.
From that initial "spruce up" has come a makeover in her Living Room and currently one completed in her Family Room.
Although there are signs of my design throughout her home, the detail and selection of the collections and vintage finds are all Sally!!
I truly think that is how Design should be. Blending old and new, and a Designer listening to what makes the client happy.
Client: It was fun to be in style for a year or two, but it’s back to being the quirky lady. I started collecting in my teens and enjoy the hunt for new finds of all types. Cori helped me to enjoy my collections in a new and modern way! As always I had too many things. With her designer eye she taught me to blend the old and the new and to use different materials. The best part was going shopping with one of my best friends, who just happens to be a designer!! She is definitely the ying to my much needed yang.

We have blended grey & white together in this latest kitchen project to create an understated sophistication look. The open plan shaker-style design, satin Duco grey & white, can be styled in a classic or contemporary direction, but will always look stunning. We have toped it off with Sigma Quartz Stone & Ash countertops and a custom-made solid rubber wood countertop for the breakfast nook on the island – mixing different textures to create warmth. This kitchen is fitted out with al the bells and whistles from soft-closing hardware to roller-shutters to hide items from the countertops. Definitely one of our favourite projects we’ve done thus far.

Landscape Contractor Values:
Any given Landscape Contractor may have a different approach, but Landscape Contractor, Brett Berry of Berry Outdoor Living creates living areas that feel connected to the home. As a Landscape Designer and Landscape Contractor working with a Landscape Architect, we try to create the space so it feels relaxed. It should feel like it's been in place with the home for years and not an "add-on".
As a Landscape Contractor that merges old and new construction into the landscape design, the goal is to build a space people want to spend time, whether at the bar of the outdoor kitchen, fire pit, patio, or covered porch. When a space becomes a large part of the homeowners' daily life, as a Landscape Contractor, that's when I know a project has been completed with excellence. I work closely with a Landscape Architect through the design process to ensure the space has the correct "feel".
A Landscape Contractor must build the space to flow from the inside of the home out. The patio and outdoor living space feels like an extension of the home, or another "room" of the home and feels wrapped with fresh, low-maintenance landscaping.
In Kansas City patio, and landscaping design, there is a clear trend toward a cleaner, more defined look influenced by a more modern era viewpoint that values a non-cluttered look and feel. So, as a Landscape Contractor, in our circle of clients, we've seen a definite shift toward cleaner, artisan-crafted backyards and fewer "boxy", shrub-heavy yards. A Landscape Contractor with a keen sense designs this effect.

As is the true distinction of the Ziegler method, we collaborated with one of California's most innovative designers Mario Romano to create this one of a kind custom garage door. This is both modern design and artisan construction of a custom garage door at its finest. The flush mount door installation make this modern garage door almost invisible. This is one of three Mario Romano houses we provided flush mounted garage doors for and all are a different Romano influence of design. This Santa Monica seamless door is definitely a champion of modern garage doors and design conceptualization. Thank you Mario Romano for your continued patriotism to the Ziegler Family. We love working with designers to help fulfill their designs, if you are looking for a great garage door, pedestrian gate, driveway gate or high security entrance then call our design center in Southern California 714-437-0870
