In Seabrook, Wash., home of the 2013 Sunset Idea Town, designer Brian Paquette married coastal charm with big city style in this imaginative morning room.
In a colorful flight of fancy, a whimsical wingback chair by CR Laine makes a bold statement against the modern wallpaper when upholstered in Canvas Melon with contrast welting in Trax Emerald and lumbar pillow in Canvas. On the neighboring CR Laine sofa, throw pillows in Cathedral Ocean, available through Silver State, mimic the graphic elements of the wallpaper and mirror the color palette of the wingback chair.
Upholstered in Timor Tamale, sturdy movable cubes can be rearranged on a whim to serve as an ottoman, additional seating, a coffee table or whatever your imagination can dream.

Laundry may be a chore we all face, but it doesn't have to feel like one. Clean and serene is the theme for this laundry center. Located in a busy part of the house next to the back door and combined with coat and shoe storage into a mud room, it still offers a sense of peace and calm by providing a place for everything and preventing chaos from taking over.
It's easier to keep the room looking tidy when you have a good organizational system like this one. Shelves and cabinets above the side-by-side front loading washer and dryer provide convenient storage for detergent, dryer sheets, fabric softener and other laundry aids. A shelf with a basket is a great place to temporarily store all the little items that were left in pockets and shouldn't go in the wash. The small hanging rod in the corner takes care of the delicate drip dry items that can't go in the dryer, while the small sink with storage cabinets is large enough for hand wash and things you want to quickly rinse out like swim suits. It's also a great place to stop and wash dirty hands before continuing into the rest of the house. A garbage can is hidden in the cabinet beneath the sink. The lower shelves with baskets next to the sink can store either folded clothing that has yet to be put away, or a basket or dirty laundry waiting to go into the wash.
The oil rubbed bronze finish on the cabinet handles and faucet ties in with blue, beige, dark brown and white color scheme present throughout the first floor of the home and is a strong accent against the white. It also ties in perfectly with the dark wood look ceramic tiles on the floor.

The laundry room is no place to scrimp on creativity and functionality. We like a built-in spot for laundry baskets with plenty of room for detergents and other items in bright cabinets.

This tiny home is located on a treelined street in the Kitsilano neighborhood of Vancouver. We helped our client create a living and dining space with a beach vibe in this small front room that comfortably accommodates their growing family of four. The starting point for the decor was the client's treasured antique chaise (positioned under the large window) and the scheme grew from there. We employed a few important space saving techniques in this room... One is building seating into a corner that doubles as storage, the other is tucking a footstool, which can double as an extra seat, under the custom wood coffee table. The TV is carefully concealed in the custom millwork above the fireplace. Finally, we personalized this space by designing a family gallery wall that combines family photos and shadow boxes of treasured keepsakes. Nestled off of the kitchen and near the garage, this laundry room is both ample and beautiful. Folding tables, upper cabinets, and a space to hang whatever your heart desires makes this laundry room convenient and user friendly. Vinyl flooring gives the allusion of tile while providing a practical and cost-effective way to add a bit of personality to an otherwise utilitarian space!

A quintessential 1925 bungalow located in the charming neighborhood of Virginia Highland in Atlanta, this project included a renovation of the kitchen, family room and powder room on the first floor, and the laundry and primary bath on the second. The Copper Sky Design + Remodel team reconfigured the first floor to better accommodate additional cabinetry and an island in the kitchen by borrowing space from what was a full bathroom and converting it to a half bath. Upstairs, unfinished attic space was converted to a roomy laundry room while the 200 square foot primary bath remained in its original footprint.

This crisp built-in cabinetry was designed to house necessary detergents and supplies for this household. The former Laundry used to be in a closet at an alternate location in the home. The clients desired to expose it for ease of use.
