The patterns, colors and furniture plan all played important roles in this individualistic dining room. Moving the dining table to the back wall rather then the center of the room allowed the opportunity to add a long beautiful banquette with flanking bookcases. I turned the paper to be hung horizontal to get a more modern stripe and that coordinates well with the sheers. The unique dining chairs feature a Malachite patterned fabric with emerald mohair seats while the banquette has many different patterned pillows adding a nice warmth to the room. The two Shagreen bookcases give more space which dining rooms tend to lack to add personalized accessories and frames.

This elegant dining room combines classic and modern elements for a striking, inviting space. White wainscoting and warm wood floors provide a timeless foundation, while a sculptural black-and-white chandelier adds sculptural interest overhead. A wood dining table with eight upholstered chairs anchors the room, and a vibrant abstract painting in pink, orange, white, and blue injects color and energy, creating a dynamic yet balanced dining environment. This dining room combines modern, rustic and classic styles. The colors are inspired by the original art work placed on the accent wall. Dining room accessories are understated to compliment the dining room painting. Custom made draperies complete the look. Natural fabric for the upholstery chairs is selected to work with the modern dining room rug. A rustic chandelier is high above the dining room table to showcase the painting. Almost every room in the house offers stunning views of the outdoor living space and golf course. The dining room is subtly elegant creating an intimate dining space but also a space to enjoy looking outdoors. The custom chairs have a curved back design to contrast with the linear dining table. The host and hostess chairs add texture and Texas chic with their velvet alligator skin fabric. Permanently set, the tableware sparkles under the crystal chandelier revitalized by a talented faux finisher.

We helped stylish blogger Erin Hatzis - one half of Suburban Bitches - choose chairs for her new wood and iron dining room table from Restoration Hardware. The silver tabouret chairs she had paired with her old, farmhouse table just weren't working, and Erin needed sorting through the overwhelming number of options available online.
She had her eye on the handwoven, antiqued zinc CB2 Reed chair, and Decorist suggested layering in two Pascal Modern Shell Chairs from Overstock (with a sheepskin overlay for added comfort!) to blend the mid-century elements she had in her living room. This beautiful light filled dining room is graced by two large glass icicle chandeliers and a metallic cork wallpapered ceiling. The stunning Caracole dining table features golden accents and seats up to 10 guests. Custom drapery flanks both sides of the oval dining room, while a custom Alex Turco art piece echoes all of the neutral colors in the room. The dining room is both opulent and inviting, offering a beautiful space for hours of dining and conversation.

A mid-century inspired light and bright colors help create a soothing color palette.

Custom locally built dining table designed by For a family wanting a dramatic entry and dining room, but with requirements that it be an indestructible venue for weekly brunches with guest lists including small children! Our first solution was to create a contrasting border integral to the hardwood floor, in lieu of an area rug. From there, we introduced furniture in resilient materials such as fiberglass chairs and a locally made custom table of Heather's design in reclaimed hardwood, steel and acrylic. Luxurious drapes, dramatic accessories and a chandelier with glimmer added the required panache.

Complete overhaul of the common area in this wonderful Arcadia home.
The living room, dining room and kitchen were redone.
The direction was to obtain a contemporary look but to preserve the warmth of a ranch home.
The perfect combination of modern colors such as grays and whites blend and work perfectly together with the abundant amount of wood tones in this design.
The open kitchen is separated from the dining area with a large 10' peninsula with a waterfall finish detail.
Notice the 3 different cabinet colors, the white of the upper cabinets, the Ash gray for the base cabinets and the magnificent olive of the peninsula are proof that you don't have to be afraid of using more than 1 color in your kitchen cabinets.
The kitchen layout includes a secondary sink and a secondary dishwasher! For the busy life style of a modern family.
The fireplace was completely redone with classic materials but in a contemporary layout.
Notice the porcelain slab material on the hearth of the fireplace, the subway tile layout is a modern aligned pattern and the comfortable sitting nook on the side facing the large windows so you can enjoy a good book with a bright view.
The bamboo flooring is continues throughout the house for a combining effect, tying together all the different spaces of the house.
All the finish details and hardware are honed gold finish, gold tones compliment the wooden materials perfectly.

Vivid colors and modern influences make an impact in a transitional dining room. The six purple velvet strie chairs and two geometric head chairs contribute elegant color against a neutral backdrop. - Photo by Jeff Mateer
The entire room is wrapped up in a beautiful shimmered gold wall paper.

A live edge table by Urban Hardwoods is complemented by luxurious dining chairs and a beautiful modern organic chandelier by John Pomp. The host chairs feature a pattern which echoes the pattern of the rug in the living room.
