There was a lot of rotting wood that was behind the old siding making the covered porch area into a serious hazard, as it was on the verge of collapsing. The rotting areas were all fixed, including rotting areas on the roof. The old shingles were removed, rotting areas were fixed and the entire house was re-shingled. Numerous windows were replaced throughout the house including the garage and stable windows. The rear nook windows were replaced with ones that better addressed the space and disability while also addressing the massive rot present due to improper installation in the original construction.

This existing client in Farmington Hills asked us to redesign and install a new front walkway for his home. It had to go compliment the style of the home and be barrier free. So his guest would not have to step up to the porch. We created this beautiful paver ramp. It starts flat at the driveway and gradually slopes up to the front porch. Landforms Inc.

We changed out a typical guest bathroom to an accessible bathroom. It doesn't meet all ADA codes, but it comes close. Features are the 3 panel shower door system that allows more open entry into the shower area for a care giver, or a person who needs a bit more room to maneuver. There is a fixed panel, a panel that slides to the left, and a swinging door that hinges on the right allowing for 40" of entry. Since we didn't want to dig up all the concrete, we kept the same drain area, making sure it was 3". Then our shower dam finishes out just under 2". An easier step over from typical. Features are Kueco fold down/up seat, Kueco support rail at toilet, Hans Grohe hand shower a at seat, Jaclo grab bars in shower and a wall hung sink. Overall an easy installation, as long as all the backing and placements are thought out before any finish construction is done.

This transitional Showplace kitchen is in a newly constructed ADA home, designed specifically around the homeowners’ needs and disability. The kitchen design features a versatile, flat-panel door style with a medium matte finish and quartz countertops. The dual height island and special sink/stove aprons allow for a wheelchair to slide underneath with ease, which gives all members of the family a chance to participate in meal prep and socialization within the kitchen. Another special ADA feature is a special wall oven that opens side to side instead of up and down, allowing easier access for anyone in a wheelchair.
