This beautiful kitchen was designed by Cathy from our Nashua showroom. This transitional Showplace kitchen is in a newly constructed ADA home, designed specifically around the homeowners’ needs and disability. The kitchen design features a versatile, flat-panel door style with a medium matte finish and quartz countertops. The dual height island and special sink/stove aprons allow for a wheelchair to slide underneath with ease, which gives all members of the family a chance to participate in meal prep and socialization within the kitchen. Another special ADA feature is a special wall oven that opens side to side instead of up and down, allowing easier access for anyone in a wheelchair. Other special features include decorative glass doors, plate organizer drawer, crown molding that fades into the wall, and a wood hood. An absolutely beautiful home with all the features needed to assist the homeowner with everyday life. In the master bath, we removed the tub and the shower and created a large open, barrier free shower with a fold up shower seat and grab bars. We also added a handheld shower head on a sliding bar to be ready for whatever the future holds. The second bathroom was created from a spare bedroom. Again a large open space was installed with a roll-in, wheelchair accessible shower. This time a curved shower rod was used allowing more space inside the shower. As always, we installed grab bars and a hand held shower head. The homeowner wanted to keep the option open for anyone who might want to use a bathtub, so that feature was also included in the guest bath. Both bathrooms incorporate aging in place features while looking beautiful.

The shower includes both an overhead shower head as well as a hand held shower head that also slides on the rail.

This existing client in Farmington Hills asked us to redesign and install a new front walkway for his home. It had to go compliment the style of the home and be barrier free. So his guest would not have to step up to the porch. We created this beautiful paver ramp. It starts flat at the driveway and gradually slopes up to the front porch. Landforms Inc.

An accessible shower design with both fixed and hand held shower heads. Both the diverting and pressure valves are lined up within an accessible reach distance. The folding bench seat can be sprayed from either shower head and the recessed can light keeps things visible. Grab bars surround the user for safety. A recessed shampoo storage niche is enhanced using random glass mosaic tiles. DT

Completion of all the shower wall and floor tile. Shower fixtures have been trimmed out, with a separate handheld for shower use and cleaning. Includes separate shower valve and diverter. Artisan subway tile makes the wall tile appear to be installed unevenly, but that is the intended look the homeowner wanted. Trimmed out the shower bench with a piece of the countertop material. The curb-less shower was installed for the homeowners to be able to "age in place" and access the shower if one becomes disabled. The new vinyl floor plank was married to the hexagonal shower floor tile so a threshold wasn't needed. Just waiting on the shower glass to be installed to complete the shower.

The spare lines and geometry of the master bath vanity set the stage for unique ways to organize trinkets and jewelry. One-of-a-kind boxes and trays stand on their own when set against the white countertop and walls, creating a display of specialty pieces.
