In this space we took a low area where a sump pump was discharging and all water from the property was flowing through after rain and transformed it into a visually pleasing and functional area of the property.

Drainage line installed at highest point of wall where water stands and pushed through the wall. The secondary pipe is to attach to corner downspout on other corner of home. Drainage ties into patio drainage system and discharging into the drywell.

The narrow and shallow, integral copper gutter is inserted at the edge of the deck. Water is allowed to flow under the shoe of the 'cantilever' glass railing. Hidden drain pipe fastened under the gutter carries the water to discharge.

Inspiration for a large transitional side yard gravel landscaping in Toronto.

The roof was designed to reduce water run off and maintenance. The roof features a small parapet and an internal down spout in the side wall. Water is discharged into two media beds that crawling ivy is rooted in. The wall is painted with a Lotusan Paint that washes clean with every rain. Remaining or overflow water follows a rain chain into the bed on the ground.

The waterfall is both functional (i.e., aeration) and aesthetic (i.e. beautiful). It discharges into a small shallow wading area where the little ones can play.

This 5’ high multi-level waterfall and 35’ meandering stream discharge into 10’ x 15’ freeform Koi pond.
