New 3400sf hilltop residence is overlooking the ocean and city below. An intimate courtyard serves as a counterbalance to the dramatic terraces and distant views. An infinity pool, firepit, outdoor kitchen, and a covered loggia complete the view side of the layout.

Master Bedroom with a large window with expansive panoramic window to "live in the view" of the distant mountains and city lights. Builder - Build Inc, Interior Design - Tate Studio Architects, Photography - Thompson Photographic.

The sloping site for this modest, two-bedroom house provides views through an oak savanna to Oregon’s Yamhill Valley and the Coastal Mountain Range. Our clients asked for a simple, modern, comfortable house that took advantage of both close and distant views. It’s long bar-shaped plan allows for views from each space, maximum day-lighting and natural ventilation. Centered in the bar is the great room, which includes the living, dining, and kitchen spaces. To one side is a large deck and a terrace off the other. The material palette is simple: beams, windows, doors, and cabinets are all Douglas Fir and the floors are all either hardwood or slate.

Step into this expansive master suite! The concern? Storage. Our solution? A his and hers closet system, which utilized building closet cabinetry in the dead-nook-space in the sitting area. This would now be designated now as his' closet, complete with drawers, pull outs for shoes, hanging areas, and a special fake drawer panel for laundry basket. Cabinetry finished in BM Distant Gray.
The master bathroom received (2) new floating vanities (his and hers) with flat panel drawers and stainless steel finger pulls, open shelving, and finished with a gray glaze.
Designed and built by Wheatland Custom Cabinetry & Woodwork.

This great room should really be called the 'grand room'. Spanning over 320 sq ft and with 19 ft ceilings, this room is bathed with sunlight from four huge horizontal windows. Built-ins feature a 100" Napoleon fireplace and floating shelves complete with LED lighting. Built-ins painted Distant Gray (2125-10) and the back pannels are Black Panther (OC-68), both are Benjamin Moore colors. Rough-ins for TV and media. Walls painted in Benjamin Moore American White (2112-70). Flooring supplied by Torlys (Colossia Pelzer Oak).

One of two master bedrooms, this spacious, light-filled suite is accented with rustic ledgestone walls. Pocketing doors and clerestory windows allow the enjoyment of distant views.
The room is outfitted with a set of metal and leather accent chairs from Charleston Forge and a custom vinyl-upholstered bed.

There are two kitchens in this photograph. The 'distant kitchen' is a caterers kitchen, which is the compliment to the main kitchen.

Located near the base of Scottsdale landmark Pinnacle Peak, the Desert Prairie is surrounded by distant peaks as well as boulder conservation easements. This 30,710 square foot site was unique in terrain and shape and was in close proximity to adjacent properties. These unique challenges initiated a truly unique piece of architecture.
Planning of this residence was very complex as it weaved among the boulders. The owners were agnostic regarding style, yet wanted a warm palate with clean lines. The arrival point of the design journey was a desert interpretation of a prairie-styled home. The materials meet the surrounding desert with great harmony. Copper, undulating limestone, and Madre Perla quartzite all blend into a low-slung and highly protected home.
Located in Estancia Golf Club, the 5,325 square foot (conditioned) residence has been featured in Luxe Interiors + Design’s September/October 2018 issue. Additionally, the home has received numerous design awards.

Inspiration for a transitional beige floor eat-in kitchen remodel in Baltimore with shaker cabinets, white cabinets, white backsplash, white appliances, an island and white countertops

We designed a “tree house” suspended above the ground on glued-laminated timber columns supporting two stories, forty feet above the forest floor. Suquamish means “place of clear water”. The care of the land that drove this residence included simple strategies for capturing rain and percolating storm water, minimal excavation and removal of soils, low-impact concrete foundations, and a light structure that captures views of the forest, water, and a distant Seattle skyline to the east.
