This project demonstrates how thoughtful space planning can turn a secondary room into one of the most hardworking areas of the home. To maximize the long, galley-style layout, we installed a seamless run of white shaker-style cabinetry paired with durable white quartz countertops. The design features a deep, integrated utility sink with a high-arc faucet, perfect for everything from soaking linens to quick clean-ups. To save precious floor space, we utilized a stacked washer and dryer configuration, allowing for additional countertop workspace and specialized storage nooks, including a dedicated area for pet needs. Custom Task Lighting: Bright under-cabinet LEDs ensure a well-lit workspace for sorting and folding. The clients wanted to be living and functioning in the home by November 1st with permits the construction began in August. The KitchenLab Interiors (KLI) team began design in May so it was a tight timeline! KLI phased the project and did a partial renovation on all guest baths. They waited to do the master bath until May. The home includes 7 bathrooms + the master. All existing plumbing fixtures were Waterworks so KLI kept those along with some tile but brought in Tabarka tile. The designers wanted to bring in vintage hacienda Spanish with a small European influence- the opposite of Miami modern. One of the ways they were able to accomplish this was with terracotta flooring that has patina. KLI set out to create a boutique hotel where each bath is similar but different. Every detail was designed with the guest in mind- they even designed a place for suitcases.

Our clients came to us looking to remodel their condo. They wanted to use this second space as a studio for their parents and guests when they came to visit. Our client found the space to be extremely outdated and wanted to complete a remodel, including new plumbing and electrical. The condo is in an Art-Deco building and the owners wanted to stay with the same style. The cabinet doors in the kitchen were reclaimed wood from a salvage yard. In the bathroom we kept a classic, clean design.

A living room in the Oakland Hills for a family with two young kids. The goal was simple: sophisticated enough for the adults, relaxed enough for real life. Dark painted built-ins anchor the space with quiet drama, while a fuzzy rug, playful organic lighting, and family-friendly fabrics keep it warm, approachable, and never too precious to use.

With windows and doors on 3 sides, the kitchen is flooded with amazing light and beautiful breezes. The finishes were selected from a driftwood palate as a nod to the beach one block away, The limestone floor (beyond practical) dares all to find the sand traveling in on kids' feet. The living room was envisioned as a calm, inviting retreat with a fresh palette of soft greens and blues. We layered transitional furnishings with subtle traditional elements to create a space that feels both timeless and approachable. While slightly more elevated in tone, the design remains inherently livable—reflecting our clients’ desire for a room that welcomes both adults and children with ease. Durability was key throughout. Every fabric and finish was carefully selected with real family life in mind, ensuring nothing feels too precious or off-limits. The result is a home that supports everyday living beautifully—effortless, comfortable, and designed to be enjoyed.

A full renovation removed interior walls and introduced expansive sliding doors that open to the patio, creating an indoor outdoor living experience.
