We had a few problems to solve during the gut remodel of this Midcentury kitchen. First, in order to put the dishwasher next to the sink, we had to move the peninsula to the left a bit. Then we hid the microwave by placing it under the peninsula--no one needs to see a big microwave on the counter! We chose a subtle light fixture with black accents to balance the volume of the larger fixture in the dining room, and to match with the faucet. We kept the pulls modern and simple. Inspiration for an eclectic living room remodel in San Francisco

To honor their roots, this eclectic 2018 new build capitalizes on the couples’ personalities in many ways. With an affinity for geodes and rock formations, as well as keeping glass and organic elements in mind, inspiration is evident in every room. The couple’s Colorado background encouraged we incorporate refined western nods throughout the residence, while sophisticated features of transitional and traditional designs. Each room was designed with consideration of the clients’ love of color except the master bedroom and bath suite, which was done in soothing neutrals.

A classic, elegant master suite for the husband and wife, and a fun, sophisticated entertainment space for their family -- it was a dream project! To turn the master suite into a luxury retreat for two young executives, we mixed rich textures with a playful, yet regal color palette of purples, grays, yellows and ivories. For fun family gatherings, where both children and adults are encouraged to play, I envisioned a handsome billiard room and bar, inspired by the husband’s favorite pub.

The keeping room is accented with two amethyst wing chairs. The chevron pattern on the window treatments has a horizontal impact that encourages the eye to sweep across the room. A Bonisolli Photography

The airy plan offers spaciousness in a limited-fronted site of the American foursquare house. The goal for the design was creating a contemporary foursquare style house. The family room and kitchen of this American foursquare interior are separated by a glassy built-in rather than walls, encouraging visual connection between the spaces in the four square house. Though nestled in the city, this American foursquare home feels like a classic country home.
