Originally constructed in the 1700s, this historic building once served as a barn, enduring the test of time for centuries. Today, it has been rejuvenated into an artist's studio, thoughtfully designed by architect Anthony Miksitz, preserving its rich heritage while accommodating a new purpose. The studio boasts exposed support beams and soaring ceilings, paying homage to the structure's original function. Pitt Street Bathroom Renovation Located in a historic home that has been thoughtfully converted into multiple apartments, this 600-square-foot residence presented a unique design challenge: creating a luxurious, highly functional bathroom within a limited footprint. We completely reimagined the existing space, removing the outdated finishes and transforming it into a timeless retreat. Classic polished chrome fixtures, marble throughout, and a custom glass shower enclosure create an elegant, enduring aesthetic. To maximize functionality, we also incorporated space for a laundry area where none previously existed—an essential upgrade without compromising the room's design. Working closely with Kohler, we carefully selected finishes that complement the home's historic character while providing modern performance. The result is a sophisticated bathroom that feels both spacious and refined, proving that exceptional design isn't limited by square footage.

Jennifer Hazen from Reico Kitchen and Bath in Charlottesville, VA, designed a transitional-inspired kitchen featuring Masterpiece cabinetry. The kitchen’s perimeter cabinets feature the Ganon full overlay door style in a Cottage finish, while the kitchen island is an Evergreen finish. The perimeter and coffee bar area feature countertops and full height backsplash in Hilite Venatino Gold quartz, while the island countertop features Taj Mahal Quartzite with a 3-inch mitered apron. The kitchen also features KitchenAid and Frigidaire appliances. Jennifer shared insights into the project, highlighting its unique aspects: “The clients wanted to stick with a style that would endure over time while still standing out as classy. The challenge of 8’ ceilings was addressed with an oversized custom hood, carefully constructed together like a puzzle for the installer. The island countertop features a 3-inch mitered apron, creating the appearance of a double-thick slab of Taj Mahal Quartzite. Even the dog has his own quartz top at his feeding station!
