Every detail of this European villa-style home exudes a uniquely finished feel. Our design goals were to invoke a sense of travel while simultaneously cultivating a homely and inviting ambience. This project reflects our commitment to crafting spaces seamlessly blending luxury with functionality.
The living room drew its inspiration from a collection of pillows characterized by rich velvet, plaid, and paisley patterns in shades of blue and red. This design approach conveyed a British Colonial style with a touch of Ralph Lauren's distinctive flair. A blue chenille fabric was employed to upholster a tufted sofa adorned with leather and brass bridle bit accents on the sides. At the center of the room is a striking plaid ottoman, complemented by a pair of blood-red leather chairs positioned to capture a picturesque lake view. Enhancing this view are paisley drapes, which extend from floor to pine ceiling.

Location: Situated on Bunurong country near the town of Sorrento, the site was uniquely positioned between the back beach and the footy oval. The broad wedge-shaped site featured a steep vegetated dune climbing 6 meters to the rear and remnant coastal Moonah trees at the front, providing a distinctive natural context.
Design Brief: The objective was to create an enduring 4-bedroom holiday house that harmonized with its coastal environment. The design was intended to be both stylish and robust, offering high amenity and serviceability. This house was envisioned as a long-term investment, serving the dual purpose of accommodating a growing family and functioning as a part-time rental property.
Architectural Features:
Contextual Integration: The architectural response meticulously respected and enhanced the site's natural features, seamlessly integrating the vegetated dune and preserving the Moonah trees within the landscape strategy.
Materiality and Aesthetics: The material palette was selected for its durability and ability to withstand the harsh coastal conditions while maintaining a refined and stylish appearance. This included the use of resilient, high-quality materials that age gracefully over time.
Spatial Versatility: The spatial configuration was designed to adapt to the evolving needs of a growing family and the demands of a rental property. Flexible spaces were created to provide a balance between communal living areas and private retreats.
Indoor-Outdoor Connectivity: Emphasizing seamless indoor-outdoor connections, the design featured expansive glazing, outdoor terraces, and integrated landscaping to blur the boundaries between interior and exterior spaces.
High Amenity and Comfort: The house boasted a laminate black-butt chef's kitchen, stone and tile surfaces, and state-of-the-art climate control systems, including integrated heating and cooling, to ensure year-round comfort and ease of maintenance.
The architectural vision aimed to create a timeless residence that would serve as a cherished family retreat and a sought-after rental property, responding elegantly to its coastal context and the demands of modern living.

This staircase breathes traditional elegance into the home with classic design elements. Dark-stained treads and handrail create rich contrast against crisp white risers, newels, and vertical balusters. Wainscoting runs alongside the staircase, adding another layer of traditional detail that enhances the home's refined character.
Centrally positioned, the staircase features a second-story balcony that wraps two sides above the main floor. This thoughtful design allows natural light to flow freely throughout the home while creating visual connection between levels. The result is a staircase that honors traditional craftsmanship while serving the functional needs of contemporary living.

This kitchen showcases a modern, industrial design with a sleek and functional aesthetic. Key features of the kitchen include:
Walls and Ceiling: The walls and ceiling have a raw concrete finish, emphasizing the industrial style of the space.
Cabinetry: Dark matte cabinets provide a stark contrast to the concrete walls, creating a bold and contemporary look. The cabinetry is minimalist with flat panel doors and no visible handles, contributing to the clean lines of the kitchen.
Countertops: Light wooden countertops add warmth and a touch of natural material to the otherwise industrial space. The countertops extend across the L-shaped perimeter and the central island.
Island: The central island features the same dark cabinetry with a wooden countertop, offering additional workspace and storage. A bowl of fresh lemons adds a pop of color to the island.
Lighting: Track lighting on the ceiling and under-cabinet lighting ensure the kitchen is well-lit, providing both ambient and task lighting. The lighting highlights the textures and finishes of the space.
Appliances: Modern stainless-steel appliances, including a built-in oven and microwave, are integrated into the cabinetry for a seamless look.
Sink and Faucet: The sink area, positioned under a large window, features a modern black faucet. The window allows natural light to flood the kitchen, enhancing the open and airy feel.
Open Shelving: A small section of open shelving next to the cabinetry displays kitchen essentials and decorative items, adding a personal touch.
Flooring: The flooring is consistent with the concrete theme, using large concrete tiles that complement the walls and ceiling, maintaining the industrial aesthetic throughout the space.
Overall, this kitchen blends industrial elements with modern design, creating a stylish, functional, and inviting space. The combination of dark cabinetry, wooden countertops, and concrete finishes results in a balanced and visually appealing environment.

The Mid-Levels of Hong Kong Island is one of the most prominent luxury residential areas. This project - Estoril Court in Mid-Levels Central is one of the rare heritage mansions in Hong Kong with a "thousand-year lease," comprising a total of 240 units.
The young couple, with their two daughters, have settled here. For the wide experience husband, the most important aspect of a home is that it carries the "depth of love." His wife's preferences and the children's interests were frequently mentioned during this project. "I hope the design can break through conventions and avoid falling into the trap of popular but clichéd styles. Kyle and I resonate deeply on this point; we both pursue a 'more personal expression.' Family life should be relaxing, natural, and bringing joy to my family members."
This residence features a square layout and excellent natural lighting, with a practicality rate of nearly 90%. However, its over 40-year-old structure poses numerous constraints on renovations. Adhering to the existing structure and the wisdom of geomancy, Karv One Design has re-examined the relationship among the landscape, windows, and functional flow within the home. They have integrated practicality, beauty, and self-expression into every corner, enhancing the happiness of living.
Once stepping into the living room, you are greeted by Hong Kong's most spectacular vistas. The ever-changing scenery of Victoria Harbour, both day and night, the immense skyscrapers of different banks and commercial buildings and the panoramic views of the Peak are all within sight. The expansive dimensions of the living room are a response to the surrounding environment, providing ample space for family bonding and companionship, while also allowing the breathtaking skyline views to seamlessly integrate into daily life.
Unlike traditional whole-house decoration, the design of Hong Kong homes emphasizes collage and customization. The minimalist aesthetic of the space corresponds to the luxurious craftsmanship and time costs involved. Elements such as natural stone, artistic paint, parquet flooring, wood veneer, and leather have all been meticulously coordinated in terms of color and proportion, while a significant amount of storage space has been cleverly concealed within the walls.
The study room is deliberately positioned to one side of the living room, embracing the gentle stretch of sunlight. The arched iron partition, exuding a vintage flavor and traces of time, not only serves as a natural divider of space but also becomes a highlight of the interior decoration with its unique artistic form, creating a serene yet stylish atmosphere. It ensures privacy without compromising on openness, allowing the home owner to work in the study room while still keeping an eye on the children playing in the living room.
Custom-made artisanal furniture offers a whole new expression of comfort and practicality to the space. The Giorgetti HUG armchair combines a sculptural sense of form with a flowing sense of shape. When natural light filters in, a rich artistic atmosphere permeates and grows within, making the home a place of tranquility and peace of mind.
The fireplace plays a significant role in the dining room. In the warm climate of Hong Kong, the fireplace rarely serves a practical purpose; it is designed to create a cozy atmosphere for family gatherings. During the winter Christmas season, it will be adorned with gifts wrapped in beautiful paper, serving as a nostalgic reminder of memories and expressions of love.
The original open-plan layout of the master bedroom has been reconfigured and divided. The ultimate goal of the enclosed space is to provide comfort and ease of sleep. The pale green color is also carefully coordinated, focusing on creating a serene and pleasant atmosphere. The combination of "green," "wood," and "metal elements" is based on Feng Shui considerations, serving to stabilize and concentrate the energy flow.
The children's room is simple yet cozy, where sunlight awakens the space and transparent glass windows bring in the ocean view. The palette of pale blue and white adds warmth and vitality to the space, inspiring children's boundless imagination about the unknown world and giving them the courage to see mountains, seas, and the world beyond.
The unique, customized storage design is cleverly hidden within the space, blending handicraft and industrial design. Adorned with delicate textures such as rounded corners and layered elements, the craftsmanship is meticulous and exquisite, demonstrating exceptional ingenuity. It adds a sense of depth and artistry to the visual experience.
The lighting system in the space brings more enjoyable experiences to "living as you desire." The smart system caters to various states of living scenarios at different times, as well as to the subtle needs of ambient temperature, brightness, and tactile atmosphere. Whether it's solo time or family moments, day or night, everyone has a comfortable place to be.
The "Estoril Court" project is a full-service case that last for 12 months. We had hundreds of communications and exchanges with the home owner, and continuously coordinated and collaborated with the property management, on-site construction and installation workers, manufacturers, and various suppliers, striving for perfection in craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail in execution. Finally, seeing the satisfied expressions of the home owner and their family, we felt that it was an ideal conveyance.

Preserving the existing gray ceramic flooring allowed the renovation budget to be invested where it delivered the greatest impact while maintaining a cohesive, high-end aesthetic. The new cabinetry, wallcovering, paint, and finishes were thoughtfully selected to complement the floor's sophisticated neutral palette, creating a timeless and harmonious luxury laundry room without unnecessary demolition.
A lively designer wallpaper introduces personality, movement, and artistic charm, transforming a purely utilitarian space into one that feels inviting and uplifting. Layered with complementary accent colors and refined finishes, the playful pattern brings warmth and energy to everyday routines while elevating the room's bespoke character.
Every inch of the room was carefully optimized to maximize both functionality and storage. A discreet fold-down drying rack positioned beside the window provides a practical solution for air-drying delicate garments while remaining virtually invisible when not in use. Combined with custom cabinetry, generous countertops, and thoughtfully integrated storage, this detail exemplifies how intelligent space planning and tailored design solutions can transform a hardworking laundry room into a beautifully organized, luxurious space that enhances daily living.

This custom bedroom design was carefully tailored to balance elegance, comfort, and creativity while maximizing the functionality of the space. Both the bed and dresser were custom designed to coordinate seamlessly with the millwork and bookcase wall on the opposite side of the room, creating a cohesive and thoughtfully curated environment.
The custom bed features integrated storage drawers below, providing generous hidden space for extra bedding, larger art projects, and creative materials — an essential feature for a young artist with many ongoing projects. The upholstered headboard wall introduces softness and architectural interest through its subtle semi-circle profile, echoing the same curved detailing used throughout the room, including the custom desk. Wrapped in a soft blue suede fabric, the headboard brings warmth, comfort, and a calming connection to the client’s favorite color.
The dresser was designed with softly curved edges to enhance the gentle, sophisticated feel of the space. To add texture and visual depth, the drawer fronts were finished in a linen-inspired material and accented with handmade ceramic blue knobs, introducing playful personality while maintaining an elevated aesthetic.
Layered blue accents continue throughout the room in the upholstery, accessories, and blackout drapery fabric, which was selected not only for its softness and elegance but also to provide maximum sleeping comfort. The orientation of the bed was especially intentional, positioned to allow views out the window upon waking while still making the room layout function efficiently within the available footprint.
Every detail within the space was thoughtfully considered to create a serene and inspiring retreat that feels refined, functional, and deeply personal to its young owner.

This glam eclectic office design masterfully blends elegance with vibrant charm, creating an inspiring and functional workspace. Central to this design is the standing desk, which is paired with an upholstered office chair featuring a sophisticated brass base. Strategically positioned along the window wall, this setup not only ensures an abundance of natural light but also offers a refreshing view of the outside, promoting productivity and well-being. Adding to the room's allure is a luxurious floral chair nestled in a cozy corner, forming an inviting reading nook. This charming spot is complemented by a stylish side table and a pleated floor lamp, providing the perfect ambiance for leisurely breaks. On the opposite wall, a fluted credenza with discreet doors offers ample storage with its adjustable shelving. Above it, a striking black plant wall art piece, along with carefully chosen decor, creates a captivating backdrop for video calls, enhancing the room's visual appeal. A large brass antique floor mirror adds a touch of timeless charm, reflecting the room's eclectic beauty. Resembling a blooming spring garden, a vibrant rug ties the entire design together, infusing the space with energy and elegance. This office design not only boasts practicality but also exudes a glamorous, eclectic vibe that makes working a delightful experience.

Casey & Tom envisioned a master bathroom that would combine functionality with timeless elegance. Their existing space needed a complete overhaul, from layout modifications to high-end finishes.
They sought a luxurious shower, a freestanding bathtub, improved storage solutions, and upgraded lighting to create a spa-like retreat within their home.
The shower walls feature Annie Selke Flora Barely Blue Porcelain Wall 18x18", bringing a refined touch. Penny Round Matte White Porcelain Mosaic was used for the shower flooring and wall niche, creating a crisp contrast.
The shower was finished with a frameless clear tempered glass enclosure featuring a custom door.
A freestanding bathtub was positioned against the same wall as the vanity, offering a focal point of relaxation. The bathtub plumbing was reconfigured to accommodate this update, with a new floor-mount bathtub faucet installed.
The storage and functionality were improved with the installation of two Ariel Cambridge Bathroom Vanities with Pure White Quartz Tops, set side by side but kept separate for a distinctive look.
A thoughtfully designed space now reflects Casey and Tom’s style, combining practicality with elegance. The result is a tranquil bathroom that enhances comfort and everyday convenience.

Custom Gourmet Outdoor Kitchen supplied with Stainless Steel Appliances. Wicker Barstools with Sunbrella cushions are positioned against the stacked stone high bar. Multi Gray color pavers enhance the pool and loggia for a contemporary and cohesive design.

The project involved a spacious 900 sq. ft. master suite addition, complemented by an expanded kitchen and dining area. What began as a simple addition evolved into a complete home remodel, including a guest bathroom and adjacent his-and-her offices.
The design vision centered on clean, modern lines combined with warm, earthy tones and natural materials.
In the kitchen, the absence of upper cabinets creates a minimalist feel, with sleek floating shelves illuminated by built-in LED lights. The hood was integrated into the ceiling/wall, finished with drywall and plaster to seamlessly blend into the space, making it almost invisible. A semi-transparent barn door conceals the bar and laundry area, which were thoughtfully incorporated into the kitchen design.
The master suite features a spacious bathroom with custom details, including a floating vanity designed to exact specifications. The 4” thick waterfall countertop wraps around the vanity for a refined look. The mirrors, also functional as storage, feature hidden medicine cabinets built directly into the wall.
The bathroom floor is lined with warm beige tiles, complemented by 3D peach-colored tiles in the shower and vanity wall, adding texture and warmth to the space. An elegant architectural light fixture, positioned between the two mirrors, enhances the overall ambiance.

Located in a beautiful spot within Wellesley, Massachusetts, Sunspace Design played a key role in introducing this architectural gem to a client’s home—a custom double hip skylight crowning a gorgeous room. The resulting construction offers fluid transitions between indoor and outdoor spaces within the home, and blends well with the existing architecture.
The skylight boasts solid mahogany framing with a robust steel sub-frame. Durability meets sophistication. We used a layer of insulated tempered glass atop heat-strengthened laminated safety glass, further enhanced with a PPG Solarban 70 coating, to ensure optimal thermal performance. The dual-sealed, argon gas-filled glass system is efficient and resilient against oft-challenging New England weather.
Collaborative effort was key to the project’s success. MASS Architect, with their skylight concept drawings, inspired the project’s genesis, while Sunspace prepared a full suite of engineered shop drawings to complement the concepts. The local general contractor's preliminary framing and structural curb preparation accelerated our team’s installation of the skylight. As the frame was assembled at the Sunspace Design shop and positioned above the room via crane operation, a swift two-day field installation saved time and expense for all involved.
At Sunspace Design we’re all about pairing natural light with refined architecture. This double hip skylight is a focal point in the new room that welcomes the sun’s radiance into the heart of the client’s home. We take pride in our role, from engineering to fabrication, careful transportation, and quality installation. Our projects are journeys where architectural ideas are transformed into tangible, breathtaking spaces that elevate the way we live and create memories.

The double vanity offers ample storage and symmetry, complemented by warm brass fixtures and soft lighting that create a balanced, inviting atmosphere. Large mirrors and layered lighting enhance brightness and openness throughout the space.
A standout feature is the custom shower, finished with textured tile that adds visual interest without overwhelming the design. The freestanding tub, positioned near expansive windows, brings in natural light and creates a calm, spa-like focal point.
Every element—from layout to material selection—was chosen to ensure long-term durability, comfort, and everyday usability. The result is a bathroom that feels elevated, cohesive, and built to stand the test of time.
