Renovisions recently remodeled a first-floor bath for this South Shore couple. They needed a better solution to their existing, outdated fiberglass shower stall and had difficulty squatting to enter the shower. As bathroom designers, we realize that a neo-angle shower is a simple and minimalistic design option where space is a premium. The clipped corner creates an angled opening that allows easy access to the shower between other fixtures in the bathroom.
This new shower has a curb using a combination of glass and tile for the walls. Taking advantage of every possible inch for the shower made an enormous difference in comfort while showering. A traditional shower head along with a multi-function hand-held shower head and a shampoo niche both save space and provide a relaxing showering experience. The custom 3/8″ thick glass shower enclosure with mitered corners provides a clean and seamless appearance. The vanity’s bead-board design in sage green compliments the unique veining and hues in the quartz countertop.
Overall, the clients were ecstatic with their newly transformed bathroom and are eager to share it with friends and family. One friend in fact, exclaimed that the bathroom resembled one she had seen in a five star resort!

This loft space overlooks the living room below, offering a stunning vantage point framed by sleek metal railings that echo the home’s modern aesthetic. The open design enhances connection between levels, allowing light to flow freely while maintaining a sense of spaciousness and architectural cohesion. Below, a modern kitchen and contemporary fireplace anchor the space, adding warmth, style, and a perfect setting for entertaining.

Nestled in the pristine beauty of the north woods of Wisconsin is the natural landscape of majestic trees, clear spring fed lakes, fascinating wildlife and exhilarating outdoor recreational activities. It is inviting to many families, friends and couples throughout the year The lakes in particular provide for an enormous amount of fun and relaxation. For those so fortunate to have a property it is customary to have a boathouse to store your swimming or boating gear and equipment. Recently Parrett was selected to provide windows and doors for a new boathouse and replacement windows and doors for an existing home. The boathouse windows consisted of folding windows and doors allowing for opening the windows the complete 10 foot expanse. These same doors were backed by a full length horizontal pulled screen. The folding window system was set on the second level loft designed as an elevated viewing area of the lake. Mulled directly to the top of the folding window was a Napoleon shaped direct set. On the opposite side of the second level was a window system matching the shape of the lakeside window system. The upper mulled window was a duplicate of the window on the lake side however the window below consisted of four awning windows. Due to the awnings being elevated from the lower floor and not easily accessible the windows were set up with individual electronic motors for operation which can be operated by either a switch or a remote control. The system allows for operating all of the windows at once or individually. The windows were made out of solid mahogany to the interior and a high performance woodgrain aluminum clad to the exterior. The lower boathouse door is a four panel solid mahogany plank style folding door system with a horizontal pull screen. Greeting anyone entering the boathouse is a custom designed entry door which has a carved pattern to the exterior emulating an owl. The owl door was made out of solid white oak and bordered with a 10 inch wide flat casing with a 12 inch keystone and plinth blocks located on top. Parrett was proud to be part of this fun, picturesque and very functional project.

This home is built into a hill with a walkout basement that has one heck of a view! Not only that, but right next to their walkout basement is the entrance to their two-story, enormous deck that can host parties for years to come!

If walls could talk, the stories harbored in this Wrightsville Beach historic house on Henderson Street would go on for days. The history that pours from the front doors as guests are welcomed in was important for her new owner's to preserve while remodeling. And so, here, the cedar-shaked beach cottage stands on stilts overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway telling stories of her birth in 1941, survival of hurricanes like Hazel, hot summer nights, well over 70 Thanksgiving dinners when fresh catch from her dock was more important than the turkey baking in her kitchen, children counting shooting stars from her front porch and, now, her new life after quite a bit of reconstruction.
While maintaining every bit of history possible, each room was reevaluated closely by the owners and Schmidt Custom Builders in a collaboration to bring new life to the bones of this three-story beach beauty. New hardwoods went in to replace what was no longer able to be resurfaced to match the original flooring. New fixtures adorn every wall and ceiling to add classic modernity as well as a coat of fresh paint. Floor to ceiling windows were added to the living room to bring scenes of the water world in. And above the living room, an en suite was added as a getaway retreat for the parents of four. This master bathroom includes a wall-to-wall countertop with his and hers vanities, an enormous rainfall shower and a free-standing tub that stares off into the sound. The kitchen took on a complete new look with all new appliances, fresh white cabinets, backsplash, fixtures and countertops as it was opened up into the living room to create more space. On the outside, Schmidt Custom Builders added a custom outdoor shower to the sound side of the home and a full bar with a tap that serves as the perfect welcome to the L-shaped porch.

This open concept floor plan was created by removing a large l-shaped wall between the living room and kitchen. This living room features ample seating with two large sofas, one includes a sleeper for overnight guests, and three accent chairs, one with an ottoman and the other with a recliner. Perfect for hosting a large gathering. There's plenty of tables around no matter which seat you are in, including versatile two toned nesting tables. The tiled fireplace keeps the large space at a comfortable temperature during each season. The dark wood stained, hand planed, hardwood flooring boasts through the entire space, with an enormous neutral shag area rug for added comfort. Recessed lighting, side table lamps and a ceiling fan with light offers ample lighting for reading or watching tv on the corner cabinet. The piano is quaintly displayed between the living room and kitchen, in the space that used to be the original dining room. The entire space as been painted using a Sherwin Williams light green paint color.

The exterior of this villa style family house pops against its sprawling natural backdrop. The home’s elegant simplicity shown outwards is pleasing to the eye, as its welcoming entry summons you to the vast space inside. Richly textured white walls, offset by custom iron rails, bannisters, and chandelier/sconce ‘candle’ lighting provide a magical feel to the interior. The grand stairway commands attention; with a bridge dividing the upper-level, providing the master suite its own wing of private retreat. Filling this vertical space, a simple fireplace is elevated by floor-to-ceiling white brick and adorned with an enormous mirror that repeats the home’s charming features. The elegant high contrast styling is carried throughout, with bursts of colour brought inside by window placements that capture the property’s natural surroundings to create dynamic seasonal art. Indoor-outdoor flow is emphasized in several points of access to covered patios from the unobstructed greatroom, making this home ideal for entertaining and family enjoyment.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION & RESIDENCE OWNER’S REVIEW
My husband and I came across some of Alex Sukhomlinov’s beautifully handcrafted pieces of “Décor” at an antique shop in Vancouver about 4 years ago. We were so impressed with his work that we set up an appointment to meet him at his studio. At that time, we were setting up law offices in Vancouver and were looking for items to add to the overall ‘Old World Charm’ to accompany several French Empire Antiques we had brought up from L.A. His abilities as an artist and a master craftsman were matched equally by his passion and vision for what we were looking for.
Thrilled with the finished offices we then invited him to our home in Cochrane, Alberta and that is when we let him have free reign on designing our library décor and add finishing touches to our living room. We have had several world-renowned artists and many world travellers to our home since the completion of Alex’s work. The overall comments are: THIS IS IN CANADA??? THIS IS BETTER THAN ANY MANSION I’VE EVER BEEN TO!! THIS BLOWS NAPOLEAN’S LIBRARY OUT OF THE WATER!! THIS IS BETTER THAN VERSAILLES!! We are pleased to pass on any photos or answer any questions prospective clients may have. Alex was very easy and accommodating to work with. He takes enormous pride in his work. There is NO ONE ELSE that can do what he does. He creates Masterpieces that are so worthy of his time and effort. We are very honoured to have him contribute to our beautiful home and look forward to future projects with him.

A truly special property located in a sought after Toronto neighbourhood, this large family home renovation sought to retain the charm and history of the house in a contemporary way. The full scale underpin and large rear addition served to bring in natural light and expand the possibilities of the spaces. A vaulted third floor contains the master bedroom and bathroom with a cozy library/lounge that walks out to the third floor deck - revealing views of the downtown skyline. A soft inviting palate permeates the home but is juxtaposed with punches of colour, pattern and texture. The interior design playfully combines original parts of the home with vintage elements as well as glass and steel and millwork to divide spaces for working, relaxing and entertaining. An enormous sliding glass door opens the main floor to the sprawling rear deck and pool/hot tub area seamlessly. Across the lawn - the garage clad with reclaimed barnboard from the old structure has been newly build and fully rough-in for a potential future laneway house.

Located along the cliffs of the Hollywood Hills in the exclusive Mt. Olympus neighborhood this celebrity-owned modern style property is a perfect home for anyone looking to be close to the Hollywood action, while also being able to enjoy privacy.
Hidden from the street by a wall of tall greenery and secured by stainless steel doors, this property has a large lot with spectacular, unobstructed city views. Each room leads outdoors to an enormous flat yard with a heated pool & spa.

In this beautiful Houston remodel, we took on the exterior AND interior - with a new outdoor kitchen, patio cover and balcony outside and a Mid-Century Modern redesign on the inside:
"This project was really unique, not only in the extensive scope of it, but in the number of different elements needing to be coordinated with each other," says Outdoor Homescapes of Houston owner Wayne Franks. "Our entire team really rose to the challenge."
OUTSIDE
The new outdoor living space includes a 14 x 20-foot patio addition with an outdoor kitchen and balcony.
We also extended the roof over the patio between the house and the breezeway (the new section is 26 x 14 feet).
On the patio and balcony, we laid about 1,100-square foot of new hardscaping in the place of pea gravel. The new material is a gorgeous, honed-and-filled Nysa travertine tile in a Versailles pattern. We used the same tile for the new pool coping, too.
We also added French doors leading to the patio and balcony from a lower bedroom and upper game room, respectively:
The outdoor kitchen above features Southern Cream cobblestone facing and a Titanium granite countertop and raised bar.
The 8 x 12-foot, L-shaped kitchen island houses an RCS 27-inch grill, plus an RCS ice maker, lowered power burner, fridge and sink.
The outdoor ceiling is tongue-and-groove pine boards, done in the Minwax stain "Jacobean."
INSIDE
Inside, we repainted the entire house from top to bottom, including baseboards, doors, crown molding and cabinets. We also updated the lighting throughout.
"Their style before was really non-existent," says Lisha Maxey, senior designer with Outdoor Homescapes and owner of LGH Design Services in Houston.
"They did what most families do - got items when they needed them, worrying less about creating a unified style for the home."
Other than a new travertine tile floor the client had put in 6 months earlier, the space had never been updated. The drapery had been there for 15 years. And the living room had an enormous leather sectional couch that virtually filled the entire room.
In its place, we put all new, Mid-Century Modern furniture from World Market. The drapery fabric and chandelier came from High Fashion Home.
All the other new sconces and chandeliers throughout the house came from Pottery Barn and all décor accents from World Market.
The couple and their two teenaged sons got bedroom makeovers as well.
One of the sons, for instance, started with childish bunk beds and piles of books everywhere.
"We gave him a grown-up space he could enjoy well into his high school years," says Lisha.
The new bed is also from World Market.
We also updated the kitchen by removing all the old wallpaper and window blinds and adding new paint and knobs and pulls for the cabinets. (The family plans to update the backsplash later.)
The top handrail on the stairs got a coat of black paint, and we added a console table (from Kirkland's) in the downstairs hallway.
In the dining room, we painted the cabinet and mirror frames black and added new drapes, but kept the existing furniture and flooring.
"I'm just so pleased with how it turned out - especially Lisha's coordination of all the materials and finishes," says Wayne. "But as a full-service outdoor design team, this is what we do, and our all our great reviews are telling us we're doing it well."

This breathtaking Durango mountain lodge has three levels totaling 7,000 square feet, that give the feeling of a mountain lodge overlooking incredible lake and mountain views. This quality, healthy home has ample room for friends and family gatherings with five bedrooms, six bathrooms, enormous rec room, wet bar, T.V. room and outdoor patio with barbeque.
The custom home construction also features three entertainment centers, two laundry rooms, loft office, four gas fireplaces, with a sand stone hearth in the commanding great room. A well-appointed master bedroom has his and her closets and a gas fireplace next to the tub.

The owners wanted a modern country house, but with a touch of distinction. They had been living with the original construction finishes for ten years and were ready for something special, something that felt personalized and intentional. They had spent months searching for inspiration, and when we sat down together, one thing was clear: they wanted warmth, natural materials, and a level of craftsmanship that could be seen and felt.
The kitchen became the heart of the transformation. Custom white oak cabinets with vertical grain and black hardware set the tone: natural, organic, and sophisticated. We designed them to reach the ceiling, maximizing storage space and creating striking vertical lines. The black soapstone countertops and backsplash contrast with the warmth of the wood, while the enormous island with its polished stone countertop became the family’s new gathering place.
Regarding the vaulted ceiling with exposed beams, we opened it up during the demolition and found a beautiful existing structure that had been hidden behind drywall. Instead of covering it up again, we celebrated it with those robust wooden beams that anchor the entire space.
The brass accessories and sconces provide the necessary warmth and glamour without being overwhelming. These are the details that elevate the rustic style to something more refined.
But what truly stands out is the master bathroom. The symmetrical layout with matching white oak vanities flanking an arched doorway leading to the shower is pure architectural drama. Through that arch, you glimpse the white-tiled bathroom: a spa-like sanctuary with a freestanding bathtub and walk-in shower that makes you feel miles away from the stresses of daily life.
The herringbone brick-patterned tile floor adds texture and earthy tones to the space, while the open shelving of the vanities provides light and accessibility. And those brass faucets and ceramic sconces? Perfection.
At Evergreen, we believe that what good design should achieve is making you want to be at home. We create the difference between house and home.

These clients win the award for ‘Most Jarrett Design Projects in One Home’! We consider ourselves extremely fortunate to have been able to work with these kind folks so consistently over the years.
The most recent project features their master bath, a room they have been wanting to tackle for many years. We think it was well worth the wait! It started off as an outdated space with an enormous platform tub open to the bedroom featuring a large round column. The open concept was inspired by island homes long ago, but it was time for some privacy. The water closet, shower and linen closet served the clients well, but the tub and vanities had to be updated with storage improvements desired. The clients also wanted to add organized spaces for clothing, shoes and handbags. Swapping the large tub for a dainty freestanding tub centered on the new window, cleared space for gorgeous his and hers vanities and armoires flanking the tub. The area where the old double vanity existed was transformed into personalized storage closets boasting beautiful custom mirrored doors. The bathroom floors and shower surround were replaced with classic white and grey materials. Handmade vessel sinks and faucets add a rich touch. Soft brass wire doors are the highlight of a freestanding custom armoire created to house handbags adding more convenient storage and beauty to the bedroom. Star sconces, bell jar fixture, wallpaper and window treatments selected by the homeowner with the help of the talented Lisa Abdalla Interiors provide the finishing traditional touches for this sanctuary.

Attractive mid-century modern home built in 1957.
Scope of work for this design/build remodel included reworking the space for an open floor plan, making this home feel modern while keeping some of the homes original charm. We completely reconfigured the entry and stair case, moved walls and installed a free span ridge beam to allow for an open concept. Some of the custom features were 2 sided fireplace surround, new metal railings with a walnut cap, a hand crafted walnut door surround, and last but not least a big beautiful custom kitchen with an enormous island. Exterior work included a new metal roof, siding and new windows.
