While the master bathroom may be the most simple of all the bathrooms in terms of the design, it was actually the most difficult to execute. The homeowners wanted a serene, clean escape, but needed ample storage and wanted to incorporate a slightly more luxurious feel. Alongside the homeowner Daniella, the designers looked through many different tile options, finally settling on Bianco Dolomiti – Direto polished marble. They all loved the bright white background with the slight variation and veining, which gave it more character than a traditional Thassos. The designers opted to use 12 x 24 tiles to create a focus wall behind the vanity, which created the perfect backdrop for the custom-made floating vanity, medicine cabinets, wall mounted faucets and sconces. The designers originally wanted the floor to be cement, but when they saw the Area grey porcelain tile installed at the NEMO Tile Red Bank showroom, they knew it would be perfect. They opted for the larger 48 x 48 tiles to minimize the number of seams, which maintains the focus on the beautiful Bianco Dolomiti – Direto marble.

The master bath in this home was designed to give a spa like escape to the lady of the home. A free standing tub was used in the master in place of a drop in tub. The family room has a beautiful stone fireplace with bookcases to give the room a beautiful room feeling. The fireplace wall was also given a unique look to draw the eye to that wall as a focal point in the room. A drop zone was added into the laundry area just inside the garage entrance which has both benches as well as cubbies for the homeowners to be able to drop items when returning from activities during their daily routines. Keeping budget in mind when renovating this Master Suite, Studio Steidley ripped up the old carpet and replaced it with a low maintenance, durable vinyl. Baseboards were replaced and the room was repainted, providing a fresh, relaxing atmosphere where the clients can escape from everyday chaos.

Designing a completely round home is challenging! Add to that the two tubes are merely 8' wide. We commissioned an artist to paint a beautiful wall mural inspired by the Hawaiian Islands providing color, texture, visual interest and most important... visual perspective. Rather than feel trapped by the limits of the metal walls, our homeowners a surrounded by the illusion of depth and a view beyond... thus creating a relaxing master retreat for this couple. Luxury bedding and accent pillows suggest a tropical escape, even though the room is located 20' underground.

It’s easier to tune the world out and let luxury in when you can escape to a bedroom suite that is truly sweet. Lavishly swathed in graphite gray upholstery, the Emmeline bed is a gracious centerpiece that will anchor any soothing sanctuary with its statuesque headboard and tailored diamond tufting. An eclectic pair of end tables, a stylish set of lamps and pillows, and a chic woven rug are the complementary elements that bring warmth and elegance.

The Master Bedroom suite remained the only real neutral room as far as the color palette. This serves the owners need to escape the daily hustle-bustle and recharge, so it must be calm and relaxing. A softer palette with light off-whites and warm tones against the warm grey Wainscott wall. Layered accent lighting in the form of a wall sconce spot for each side of the bed in case one person would like to read in bed at night, as well as more ambient accent table tamps if more light desired. Warm woods, reflective glass, and lots of soft textures make this bedroom rich and luxe but with a more organic feel to the materials and fabrics used.

We are so proud to have owner Pamela Harvey's master suite as part of an editorial profile in Romantic Homes magazine. By prioritizing the design of her own bedroom, she was able to create a relaxing and romantic space to come home to.
