These young homeowners purchased the house from its original owner, who had meticulously
cared for it since overseeing its construction nearly 50 years ago.
While the home was in excellent condition, it needed updates to better suit the new owners'
lifestyle and growing family. The renovation involved moving a few walls and rearranging key
rooms to optimize the layout for an open, functional flow. A spacious island with seating was
added to enhance the kitchen's usability, along with well-thought-out cabinetry.
The final design reflects the homeowners' contemporary style while preserving the home's
original charm.

I cannot get over the condition that this is in. This was well cared for. With the exception of a couple of blemishes on the top, in excellent condition. I do have a picture of the top. The cabinet is beautiful with the carvings on the sides and the detailed drawers. There are 3 drawers on either side and one in the center. The stand is in excellent condition. All the wheels work well on the feet. The original belt does need to be re-stapled. The machine is just beautiful. The colors are still so vibrant. I have a picture of the back. Included are parts and tools and the original operating manual.
When closed it measures 16" across, 18" wide and stands 29 1/2". When open it is 50 1/2" across.

This client came to us with a unique challenge: create a modern design that matches her fun and funky personality but to make it as "green" and chemical free as possible. We rose to the challenge, researching the best options for sustainable, green and chemical free furnishings. The upholstery pieces are made from sustainable and chemical free materials, the dining table is made of sustainable wood with a chemical free finish. The rugs are from a fair-trade company that supports education for women in India. The client had hired a Feng Shui expert to provide her with a report which we used to design the space. The wallpaper behind the living room sofa is custom designed and custom-made. It is a map made up of hundred of small photos that the homeowner provided to us. It represents the area in her home that will bring travel and connect her to the people she loves. The large, colorful art piece in the dining area is hung in the area of the home that will bring joy around family and children. The hearts and pink/red colored wallpaper in the den will evoke love and relationships.
The client has a colorful, fun personality and we wanted to infuse the design with it. A white backdrop allows all of the pinks, reds, navy blues and turquoises to pop, creating a lively, modern feeling. The textures in the floor and wall coverings and in the fabrics create a lived in, collected feeling and add a touch of bohemian chic style. The new modern cable and walnut stair banister is in keeping with the original modern feel of the row house and keeps the narrow staircase from feeling tight and closed in.
This was a fun, creative and unique project for us. This particular client was one of Olamar's first clients eight years ago when we first opened our doors. At that time the house was nothing but a condemned shell that the client renovated, with our assistance. At that time we designed the kitchen, which is still in excellent condition and still looks amazing!

The kitchen is the most used room in the home. Our clients came to us asking for help with their outdated kitchen. The home was built in 2003 and had seen many years of use with two growing children, family and friends.
The original cabinets were of good quality and were still in excellent condition. We faux painted the old light maple cabinets with a beautiful dark Java stain.

The large refrigerator that we purchased was drawing too much attention, so we had the cabinet maker create some pannels so that it would fit in with the rest of the room. We did the same with the old–but in excellent condition–dishwasher.

Fantastic antique Tudor single-arm sconce, dating from the 1920s. This sconce begins with a crenellated upper backplate which moves down to a circular center, tapering off in the lower portion. This wall lamp is in excellent condition; it has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. We kept the original nonfunctioning turn switch for nostalgia's sake; however, we will gladly replace it with a new one if desired. The sconce measures 4" wide, 15-1/4" tall, and projects 4-1/2" from the wall.

Connie and Bob were looking for more elbow room in their compact cottage home overlooking Canandaigua Lake. With the original cottage in excellent condition, the plan was to maintain much of the structure, from siding to the deck to the roof. The most logical path to a balanced, comfortable, increase in size was to craft timber frame additions on each side of the existing home. The larger, lake facing addition used traditional scissor trusses and includes additional loft space off the master bedroom with a unique, square lookout perch. Both additions were crafted from Easter White Pine with Western Red Cedar exterior components.

Fantastic antique five-light Tudor chandelier with fleur-de-lis details, dating from the 1920s. This fixture begins in an understated canopy and chain with a pierced Art Deco style loop finial. Beneath it is a small crenellated bowl and five thick limbs that extend down to create the dome-like body, attaching to a lower circular band. The band features an undulating upper edge and fleur-de-lis details, with five chandelier arms that curve up and out, supporting each bobeche. The pie crust bobeches feature a crimped edge and a downward facing horn finial. This chandelier is in excellent condition; it has been professionally rewired and comes with all necessary attachments for modern installation. The fixture measures 17-1/2" wide, 13-1/2" tall (body only), and 29" long overall.

We transformed this 2001 kitchen from a dated space to a stunning transitional space that beautifully complements the home’s architecture and scenic golf course views. The original cabinetry, still in excellent condition, was thoughtfully refinished in a rich, cool-toned walnut stain. To add contrast and a touch of modern sophistication, we redesigned the island and serving station with updated materials and details.
A striking quartzite was hand-selected for its layered cool and warm tones, bringing depth and elegance to the space. By seamlessly carrying the stone from the countertop to the backsplash, we created a cohesive and timeless statement. Every design choice and layout enhancement was made to elevate the home’s luxurious feel while honoring its existing character.
