This client came to us with a unique challenge: create a modern design that matches her fun and funky personality but to make it as "green" and chemical free as possible. We rose to the challenge, researching the best options for sustainable, green and chemical free furnishings. The upholstery pieces are made from sustainable and chemical free materials, the dining table is made of sustainable wood with a chemical free finish. The rugs are from a fair-trade company that supports education for women in India. The client had hired a Feng Shui expert to provide her with a report which we used to design the space. The wallpaper behind the living room sofa is custom designed and custom-made. It is a map made up of hundred of small photos that the homeowner provided to us. It represents the area in her home that will bring travel and connect her to the people she loves. The large, colorful art piece in the dining area is hung in the area of the home that will bring joy around family and children. The hearts and pink/red colored wallpaper in the den will evoke love and relationships.
The client has a colorful, fun personality and we wanted to infuse the design with it. A white backdrop allows all of the pinks, reds, navy blues and turquoises to pop, creating a lively, modern feeling. The textures in the floor and wall coverings and in the fabrics create a lived in, collected feeling and add a touch of bohemian chic style. The new modern cable and walnut stair banister is in keeping with the original modern feel of the row house and keeps the narrow staircase from feeling tight and closed in.
This was a fun, creative and unique project for us. This particular client was one of Olamar's first clients eight years ago when we first opened our doors. At that time the house was nothing but a condemned shell that the client renovated, with our assistance. At that time we designed the kitchen, which is still in excellent condition and still looks amazing!

We transformed this 2001 kitchen from a dated space to a stunning transitional space that beautifully complements the home’s architecture and scenic golf course views. The original cabinetry, still in excellent condition, was thoughtfully refinished in a rich, cool-toned walnut stain. To add contrast and a touch of modern sophistication, we redesigned the island and serving station with updated materials and details.
A striking quartzite was hand-selected for its layered cool and warm tones, bringing depth and elegance to the space. By seamlessly carrying the stone from the countertop to the backsplash, we created a cohesive and timeless statement. Every design choice and layout enhancement was made to elevate the home’s luxurious feel while honoring its existing character.

The kitchen is the most used room in the home. Our clients came to us asking for help with their outdated kitchen. The home was built in 2003 and had seen many years of use with two growing children, family and friends.
The original cabinets were of good quality and were still in excellent condition. We faux painted the old light maple cabinets with a beautiful dark Java stain.

This is a striking pair of antique single-arm Art Deco sconces, dating from the 1930’s, and made and signed by Lincoln Manufacturing Co. The sconces are crowned with an abstract design and feature a beautifully incised Art Deco backplate ornamented with skyscraper details, stylized flowers and grooved patterns. A single angular arm extends from the bottom of the backplate to support a decorative candle cup with a scaled spike finial. These wall lamps are in excellent condition with a beautifully aged finish. They have been professionally rewired and come with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. We kept the original nonfunctioning turn switches for nostalgia’s sake; however, we will gladly replace them with new ones if desired. The sconces are 11-3/4” tall, 4-5/8” wide, and project 4-3/8” from the wall.

The ring-shaped, cast iron chandelier body features a hammered texture and an underside decorated with abstracted foliate designs. Extending from the chandelier body are five arms, formed of stylized fleur-de-lis, which support hammered bobeches with twisted finials. The client wanted to update their existing roller shades that were in excellent condition. The window frames are not wired for motorization, so we converted them to battery operated. Small additional deduction was taken to make them fit in the same space. Somfy motors and controls make raising and lowering multiple shades so much easier!

Springer signed dining tables sits on a double pedestal D-shaped bases. The goatskin is in very good to excellent condition and is consistent with age, with minimal separation to the goatskin seams. The lacquer finish is in overall excellent condition; consistent with age, including the bases and the top surface. The table length with one leaf is 112” and with two leaves it’s 134”.

This 7 year old carriage home was in excellent condition, yet dated with builder special finishes. I removed several pieces within the kitchen, including dated appliances, a few gingerbread valances, brass knobs, yellow paint, and a boring chandelier above the kitchen table area. I added a mixed materials backsplash, new oil rubbed bronze hardware throughout the home on all cabinetry and doors with the exception of the newly remodeled master bathroom. Large imposing faux pillars dominated the dining area, and once removed, allowed the open floor plan to flow. Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter paint was used throughout the house except in the master bath where I used Sherwin Wms. Pediment.
I added custom window treatments to all bedrooms and the living room, and the client opted for new furniture in the kitchen, living room and dining room, rounding out a most lovely new, and improved, transitional style.
New lighting was added throughout the three bedroom home, and a covered room pergolas was added to the exterior patio area.
The client, newly relocated to the Pittsburgh area from New York wanted a very specific master bathroom, and that is what was delivered: a top of the line, sleek, spa-like space that will allow seamless aging in place.
Overall, the project went flawlessly and my client is very pleased with the results.

Truly a showcase of a piece. This bar curio has it all. Glass ( Mirrored, Transparent, Frosted) , Heavy wood grain gloss throughout, Gold deco handles, Lights everywhere, and complete with a rare Mivox 704 stereo system. We believe that this piece is circa 1970's and is in excellent condition with very minor wear. There are a couple of scratches on the veneer. This bar hutch comes in 6 pieces. Due to all the glass , this piece is only going on "White Glove" service delivery and possibly crating would be involved. The Mivox stereo can also use some upgrading with better speakers. There is enough storage and shelves to display not only your bottles and glasses, but also a record player and complete sound system.
