We created an almost crystalline form that reflected the push and pull of the most important factors on the site: views directly to the NNW, an approach from the ESE, and of course, sun from direct south. To keep the size modest, we peeled away the excess spaces and scaled down any rooms that desired intimacy (the bedrooms) or did not require height (the pool room).

The clients for this project wanted a home with a traditional feel that fit the local aesthetic, but with a contemporary flare. The gabled forms and materials call back, while the exaggerated knee-braces and large banks of windows lend a little modernity. With a northerly exposure towards the lake the design opens up to the view without having concerns about excessive solar gain. A personal touch was added by the client fabricating the brackets for the post and beam connections.

Architectural windows add style and elegance to living areas within the house. However they tend to let in excess amounts of visible light, heat and UV rays that can damage furnishings. These windows are difficult to cover with conventional blinds (and why would you want to) due to their odd shape. Window films can be cut to the shape of the glass while allowing you to leave the open feel of the shape.

Inspiration for a victorian dining room remodel in Nashville with green walls and a standard fireplace

Ornamental grasses, winter berry, and other perennials are planted to create a beautiful garden on top of an area where the rain gutters drain into. The resulting rain garden can withstand excessive water from heavy rains while looking good when the weather is drier.

The original primary bathroom, while spacious enough to be impressive, unfortunately fell short in terms of functionality. The shower was so cramped that no adult could use it comfortably. The odd angles, combined with the dark and outdated finishes, along with a massive built-in tub that consumed excessive space, made it clear that a complete transformation was needed.
In our redesign, we introduced elegant walnut cabinetry and created a stunning centerpiece in the shower, featuring dual shower heads and dual handheld options.
This transformation turned the client’s bathroom into a perfect morning oasis. The clients are absolutely thrilled with their revamped space, which offers a complete escape from their daily routines. We are so excited that we got to impact our clients’ lives in a positive way.

Green River Stone Company's private quarry lies at the bottom of an ancient lake. 50 million years ago, fortuitous conditions combined to preserve fish perfectly.
Our technicians remove excess stone using fine hand tools to reveal the pristine fossils in stunning detail. The finished fossil mural is a snapshot in time, a timeless piece of natural art.

By removing the trim of the existing window I gained additional space and eliminated excess detail. The Corian book case was crafted from just one sheet and uses the back side of the material. It was a perfect match to the tile so was polished for use, instead of the standard front face.

The homeowners sought to create a modest, modern, lakeside cottage, nestled into a narrow lot in Tonka Bay. The site inspired a modified shotgun-style floor plan, with rooms laid out in succession from front to back. Simple and authentic materials provide a soft and inviting palette for this modern home. Wood finishes in both warm and soft grey tones complement a combination of clean white walls, blue glass tiles, steel frames, and concrete surfaces. Sustainable strategies were incorporated to provide healthy living and a net-positive-energy-use home. Onsite geothermal, solar panels, battery storage, insulation systems, and triple-pane windows combine to provide independence from frequent power outages and supply excess power to the electrical grid.

By comparing the before photo to the after shot, the walkway is noticeably wider and more comfortable when both clients are in the kitchen. The clients were also happy that more of the flooring was showing once the excess cabinetry was gone, as they laid the tile by hand themselves and were proud to have it on display.

Hotel Reego is a city-center resort located next to the
main highway. It features a small restaurant and limited
indoor seating, with the primary leisure area being the
spacious lawn. To maximize the guests' relaxation and
leisure experience, I have prioritized a larger grass area
while avoiding excessive planting.
