A traditional kitchen complete with coffered ceiling is a true example of luxury. Beautiful white flush inset cabinets with raised panel doors are completed with crown molding. The island continues with the same cabinet style stained a warm brown to complement. The wood range hood is centered over a wolfe cooktop. A pot filler faucet is mounted within the hexagon Carrera marble accent tile. The back splash is covered in classis Carrera marble. The floors are a natural maple hardwood.

This 1956 John Calder Mackay home had been poorly renovated in years past. We kept the 1400 sqft footprint of the home, but re-oriented and re-imagined the bland white kitchen to a midcentury olive green kitchen that opened up the sight lines to the wall of glass facing the rear yard. We chose materials that felt authentic and appropriate for the house: handmade glazed ceramics, bricks inspired by the California coast, natural white oaks heavy in grain, and honed marbles in complementary hues to the earth tones we peppered throughout the hard and soft finishes. This project was featured in the Wall Street Journal in April 2022.

A kitchen to show the clients love of colour in three show-stopping shades; Paint and Papers 'Plumb brandy' and 'temple', plus Farrow And Ball's 'Charlotte's Locks'. Painted flat panel with handle-less design and open shelving.

This country meets city look was expertly carried out by both the designer and the client. Medallion White Icing cabinetry provides the foundation, while distressed wood open shelving and a butcher block island countertop provides an aesthetic juxtaposition. Finished with mint green accents, this downtown DC kitchen is on the cutting edge stylistically.
