This project was designed and installed by Harold Leidner Landscape Architects. The expansive property features a lush landscaping, front motor court with travertine pavers and a luxury pool and spa. The pool area was designed to have a private resort feel to allow for entertaining. In addition to the spacious loggia and cabana spaces, the owner also wanted to have shade protection near the water, so a custom designed pavilion was built on the end of the pool to provide a shaded destination with cushion lounges that extend out into the water, flanked by fountains and adjacent to a fire bowl feature with a classic fire place surround. A truly elegant outdoor space for parties and entertaining with a sophisticated, modern flavor.

Paul Zimmerman photo. This well - traveled client has spent time in Africa and wanted to bring that flavor to her hall bath! The multi-colored natural stone allowed her to mix wood with wall colors and bronze fixtures for a wonderful native feel.

This design scheme blends femininity, sophistication, and the bling of Art Deco with earthy, natural accents. An amoeba-shaped rug breaks the linearity in the living room that’s furnished with a lady bug-red sleeper sofa with gold piping and another curvy sofa. These are juxtaposed with chairs that have a modern Danish flavor, and the side tables add an earthy touch. The dining area can be used as a work station as well and features an elliptical-shaped table with gold velvet upholstered chairs and bubble chandeliers. A velvet, aubergine headboard graces the bed in the master bedroom that’s painted in a subtle shade of silver. Abstract murals and vibrant photography complete the look. The building is a Will Bruder design from the mid 90's and owned & operated by Jackson Hole Title & Escrow. It's an interesting space with all angled walls, lots of glass & a center atrium that extends from the main level to the 3rd floor ceiling. My client wanted to soften the masculinity of the spaces and give it a vibrant fresh look. She has love for contemporary design, especially mid century modern and is always eager to push boundaries with her design choices. I used 'Cocobolo' paper from Flavor Paper as the starting point for pattern and color direction. 30" Satellite pendants from DWR hang on every level in the atrium and can be seen from all pathways. Humorous artwork from The Grand Image, candy bins, a metallic chevron stripe and funky, loose lighting from Tech add to the playfulness of the space. Photo Credit: David Agnello

This mid century modern home boasted irreplaceable features including original wood cabinets, wood ceiling, and a wall of floor to ceiling windows. C&R developed a design that incorporated the existing details with additional custom cabinets that matched perfectly. A new lighting plan, quartz counter tops, plumbing fixtures, tile backsplash and floors, and new appliances transformed this kitchen while retaining all the mid century flavor.

This Boulder, Colorado remodel by fuentesdesign demonstrates the possibility of renewal in American suburbs, and Passive House design principles. Once an inefficient single story 1,000 square-foot ranch house with a forced air furnace, has been transformed into a two-story, solar powered 2500 square-foot three bedroom home ready for the next generation. The new design for the home is modern with a sustainable theme, incorporating a palette of natural materials including; reclaimed wood finishes, FSC-certified pine Zola windows and doors, and natural earth and lime plasters that soften the interior and crisp contemporary exterior with a flavor of the west. A Ninety-percent efficient energy recovery fresh air ventilation system provides constant filtered fresh air to every room. The existing interior brick was removed and replaced with insulation. The remaining heating and cooling loads are easily met with the highest degree of comfort via a mini-split heat pump, the peak heat load has been cut by a factor of 4, despite the house doubling in size. During the coldest part of the Colorado winter, a wood stove for ambiance and low carbon back up heat creates a special place in both the living and kitchen area, and upstairs loft. This ultra energy efficient home relies on extremely high levels of insulation, air-tight detailing and construction, and the implementation of high performance, custom made European windows and doors by Zola Windows. Zola’s ThermoPlus Clad line, which boasts R-11 triple glazing and is thermally broken with a layer of patented German Purenit®, was selected for the project. These windows also provide a seamless indoor/outdoor connection, with 9′ wide folding doors from the dining area and a matching 9′ wide custom countertop folding window that opens the kitchen up to a grassy court where mature trees provide shade and extend the living space during the summer months. Set in a wildflower-filled mountain meadow, this Tuscan-inspired home is given a few design twists, incorporating the local mountain home flavor with modern design elements. The plan of the home is roughly 4500 square feet, and settled on the site in a single level. A series of ‘pods’ break the home into separate zones of use, as well as creating interesting exterior spaces. Clean, contemporary lines work seamlessly with the heavy timbers throughout the interior spaces. An open concept plan for the great room, kitchen, and dining acts as the focus, and all other spaces radiate off that point. Bedrooms are designed to be cozy, with lots of storage with cubbies and built-ins. Natural lighting has been strategically designed to allow diffused light to filter into circulation spaces. Exterior materials of historic planking, stone, slate roofing and stucco, along with accents of copper add a rich texture to the home. Our homeowners approached us for design help shortly after purchasing a fixer upper. They wanted to redesign the home into an open concept plan. Their goal was something that would serve multiple functions: allow them to entertain small groups while accommodating their two small children not only now but into the future as they grow up and have social lives of their own. They wanted the kitchen opened up to the living room to create a Great Room. The living room was also in need of an update including the bulky, existing brick fireplace. They were interested in an aesthetic that would have a mid-century flair with a modern layout. We added built-in cabinetry on either side of the fireplace mimicking the wood and stain color true to the era. The adjacent Family Room, needed minor updates to carry the mid-century flavor throughout.

This eclectic kitchen has the flavors of farmhouse, rustic modern and traditional all wrapped into one. The wall was removed between the original kitchen to allow for an open concept while still maintaining a kitchen work space. All of the millwork, beams and finishes were added during construction to this space which was once a drywall box. The end results are casual and stunning!

Recalling the Old World flavor of the Italian Countryside, this traditional kitchen features ivory plaster walls and reclaimed wood beams in a rich honey stain. The distressed and glazed finish of the center island coordinates with the walls, while its extra-thick wood top matches the stain of the perimeter cabinets. Topping the perimeter cabinetry is doubly thick quartzite with an ogee edge. The mosaic tile backsplash in shades of ivory, cream, and gold adds just the right amount of shimmer. Hanging above the island are a pair of gold and glass mini chandeliers which pull in the gold of the sconces that flank the limestone hood by Francois & Co. Bronze cabinet hardware adds a bit of jewelry to this hard-working space. A glimpse of beautiful blue linen draperies in the living room can be seen through the doorway.
