The cabinetry was all custom made and features Shaker-style bones. By playing with the scale of the cabinets and adding fun, oversized, textured knobs in the center of some of the cabinet doors, we were able to add some 1960s funk. Window trim in a zippy yellow also helps to add a playful element to the mix. Hardwood floors made from Cerused oak, treated with a light whitewash, are arranged in a herringbone pattern and bring a classic old-world feel to the room.

This mudroom drop zone is a masterclass in blending organic textures with high-functioning design for a busy household. The space is defined by expansive, custom warm wood built-ins—likely white oak—featuring vertical beadboard backing and a seamless wrap-around bench. Bathroom - contemporary bathroom idea in Chicago

This hall bath, prior to the remodel, was a 2 part bath with tub and toilet in one, and the vanity in the other part separated by a wall with a door. We turned it into one sinlge space. and with the use of handmade (irregular) subway tile and Carrara marble turned it into a monochromatic yet fresh and elegant hall bath with a soothing Spa-like ambience. French doors lead out to the lake side deck of this home. A wet bar features an under counter wine refrigerator, a small bar sink, and an under counter beverage center. A reclaimed wood shelf runs the length of the wet bar and offers great storage for glasses, alcohol, etc for parties. There are so many details in this kitchen it's hard to decide where to look. Each part of it is so carefully thought out, with no detail left to spare. Our clients eclectic taste and her deep trust in us, made this remodel not only top notch, but easy and fun! We used solid walnut cabinets and open shelves to bring warmth to the space and mixing patterns, but being consistent in color and tone allowed us to incorporate a lot of style into one space. The taupe hexagon mosaic floor tile has a rough texture making it slip resistant - perfect for a shower floor. Location: Spring Lake, NJ, US Our design goal for this renovation and addition was to present a modern interpretation of Colonial Plantation Style. This home features dark wood floors, wood paneling and a light soothing color scheme. The Dining Room features classic silk De Gournay Wallpaper which further fuses the indoor and outdoor seamlessness of the home. The amazing tile installations permeate the decor with color, texture and pattern. The shaker-style kitchen is refreshed by using black cabinetry, a custom stainless hood and La Cornue Range. Tile the splashback with a pattern - While the traditional subway pattern remains a popular choice with tiling, you can try some alternatives, such as herringbone or hexagon. Hamptons-style kitchens often feature marble or fine imported tiles, but you can find less expensive tiles that still look similar. GET THE LOOK FOR LESS: If your budget doesn’t permit marble tiles, stick to simple budget friendly white subway tiles.
