Our clients wanted to replace an existing suburban home with a modern house at the same Lexington address where they had lived for years. The structure the clients envisioned would complement their lives and integrate the interior of the home with the natural environment of their generous property. The sleek, angular home is still a respectful neighbor, especially in the evening, when warm light emanates from the expansive transparencies used to open the house to its surroundings. The home re-envisions the suburban neighborhood in which it stands, balancing relationship to the neighborhood with an updated aesthetic.
The floor plan is arranged in a “T” shape which includes a two-story wing consisting of individual studies and bedrooms and a single-story common area. The two-story section is arranged with great fluidity between interior and exterior spaces and features generous exterior balconies. A staircase beautifully encased in glass stands as the linchpin between the two areas. The spacious, single-story common area extends from the stairwell and includes a living room and kitchen. A recessed wooden ceiling defines the living room area within the open plan space.
Separating common from private spaces has served our clients well. As luck would have it, construction on the house was just finishing up as we entered the Covid lockdown of 2020. Since the studies in the two-story wing were physically and acoustically separate, zoom calls for work could carry on uninterrupted while life happened in the kitchen and living room spaces. The expansive panes of glass, outdoor balconies, and a broad deck along the living room provided our clients with a structured sense of continuity in their lives without compromising their commitment to aesthetically smart and beautiful design.

Our client's spacious upscale residence was built in Gainesville, Georgia. This exquisite dwelling showcases an exterior adorned with brick, shake, and siding, complemented by natural wood front columns, Board & Batten shutters, and cedar gable corbels.
The residence, featuring a three-car garage, boasts a spacious front porch adorned with stone flooring. Inside, the family room showcases a soaring vaulted ceiling and a floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace, flanked by custom wood grain cabinets and bookshelves. This family room seamlessly connects to the kitchen and dining room, with access to a generous covered deck.
The expansive kitchen offers plenty of counter and cabinet space, along with stainless steel appliances and a generously sized central island. In the dining room, you'll find horizontal natural grain paneling on the back wall, a craftsman-style tray ceiling, and a lovely view of the outdoor living area. Hardwood flooring extends throughout the living space.
In the master bedroom, hardwood flooring and abundant natural light create a welcoming atmosphere. The sophisticated master bathroom offers his and hers vanities, a freestanding soaking tub, a separate shower, and a water closet for added convenience.
The outdoor living area was meticulously planned, featuring a roomy sundeck, with a section that includes a vaulted ceiling adorned with wood inlays. Additionally, the full daylight basement has been prepared for potential future expansion.

Designed for a family who loves opening their home to friends and family, this spacious Redmond kitchen was created with entertaining at its heart. The expansive custom island provides generous room for guests to gather, sit, share a glass of wine, and visit while meals are being prepared—making the kitchen as much a social space as a place to cook.
The oversized stone-topped island is complemented by custom cabinetry, professional-style stainless-steel appliances, abundant counter space, distinctive pendant lighting, and a wall of windows that brings the surrounding Pacific Northwest landscape into the room. A combination of crisp white cabinetry and the contrasting island creates a timeless, sophisticated palette, while warm hardwood flooring keeps the expansive space inviting.
Every detail was considered to accommodate both everyday family life and large-scale entertaining. Generous circulation around the island allows multiple people to comfortably move through the kitchen, while plentiful seating encourages guests to linger. The open connection to the home's dining and entertaining spaces allows gatherings to flow naturally from one room to another.
More than simply a beautiful kitchen, this is a space designed around the way the homeowners live: welcoming people into their home, cooking together, celebrating, and spending time with the people who matter most.

On Lake Washington, an existing pool terrace was disconnected from the rest of the yard and and waterfront. The site had a challenging slope, but it was no match for a thoughtful design and some earth moving equipment! A retaining wall at the edge of the existing pool was replaced with a wide, generous stair welcoming guests to a new, bocce-style terrace below complete with gas fire pit and stunning views. A gentle, winding path leads down to a waters-edge patio with intersecting stone and concrete patterns creating a visually dynamic experience. A small sandy beach and generous lawn complete the experience. A California style planting palette with beach groundcover, perennials and elegant, flowing grasses highlighted with LED low-voltage outdoor lighting complete the vacation-home-in-the-city feel.

Forest Villa House - Mclean, VA
1528 Forrest Villa is situated in the heart of McLean, VA in a well-established neighborhood. This unique site is perfect for this modern house design because it sits at the top of a hill and has a grand view of the landscape.
We have designed a home that feels like a retreat but offers all the amenities a family needs to keep up with the fast pace of Northern VA. The house offers over 8,200 sqft of luxury living area on three finished levels.
The main level is an open-concept floor plan designed to entertain. The central area is the great room and the kitchen separated by a two-sided fireplace, but it’s surrounded by a very generous dining room, a study with custom built-ins and an outdoor covered patio with another gas fireplace. We also have a functional mudroom with a powder room right-off the 3-car garage with plenty of storage. The open stair case anchors the front elevation of the home to the front porch and the site.
The second level offers a master suite with an expansive custom his/her walk-in closet, a master bath with a curb less shower area, a free-standing soaking tub and his/her vanities. Additionally, this level has 4 generously sized en-suite bedrooms with full baths and walk-in closets and a full size laundry room with lots of storage.
The lower level has a guest en-suite bedroom with a full bathroom and walk-in closet. It also has a rec room with a glass enclosed wine cellar to display your favorite wine collection. We have added a large exercise room, a media room fully wired, a full bath and lots of storage space.
The materials used for the home are of the highest quality. From the aluminum clad oversized windows, to the unique roofing structure, the Nichiha rectangular siding and stacked veneer stone, we have hand-picked materials that stand the test of time and complement the modern design of the home.
In total this 8200 sqft home has 6 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms, 2 half-baths and a 3-car garage.

When our clients came to us, their master bathroom was doing them no favors. An awkwardly oversized corner tub that hadn't seen a bubble bath in years, a shower barely large enough to turn around in, and a color palette best described as "contractor default." The bones were there — a generously sized footprint — but the space had zero personality and even less function.
Our first move was rethinking how the square footage was being used. Out went the hulking corner tub, and in its place: a spa-worthy walk-in shower that finally earns the space it occupies. Classic white subway tile with soft gray grout lines gives it a timeless foundation, while dual showerheads — a traditional wall-mount and a ceiling-mounted rain shower — turn every morning into something worth waking up for. Built-in niches keep everything organized without interrupting the clean aesthetic.
The commode room got a full character transplant. Wainscoting grounds the space with architectural detail, while a custom nautical map wallcovering wraps the room in something deeply personal — a curated cartographic love letter to the waterways and places that matter most to this family. The addition of a traditional pedestal bidet elevates both the function and the feeling of the space.
Back in the main bathroom, the clients' personality finally has a place to live. A bold, saturated blue on the custom double vanity cabinetry makes an unapologetic statement — the kind that makes you smile every time you walk in. Wall-mounted brushed nickel faucets and coordinating hardware keep the look polished and cohesive throughout. A heated towel rack and radiant heated floors are the quiet luxuries that tip this bathroom from "really nice" into "I never want to leave."
New windows flood the space with natural light, making the already generous footprint feel even more expansive and bringing out the best in every finish and material choice.
The result is a bathroom that works as hard as it looks good — and one that finally, unmistakably, feels like them.

This 'inner' bathroom will never be in the dark with a generous skylight installed above the shower so you always have natural light. LED downlights to the ceiling were kept to a minimum with a gorgeous feature pendant being another source of light in this small but perfectly formed Guest Bathroom. The generous shower size will always make guests feel special; with the full frameless shower glass and the brushed brass fittings throughout are like pieces of jewellery.

The Kittredge is approximately 2,292 square feet and is a two-story home that provides generous living spaces and rooms. The main level of this home has a covered porch, a powder bath, entryway, kitchen, great room, dining/sunroom, pocket office, walk-in pantry and three bay garage. In addition to these features, there are also options to have a fireplace in the great room, a gourmet kitchen, an additional bay on the garage, a garage access door and a patio or covered patio. The second level of the Kittredge includes three bedrooms, two baths, a laundry room and a generous loft. If desired, you could also add in a fourth bedroom instead of the loft. This home comes with an unfinished lower level. If you finished it through Richfield Homes, we would add in a bedroom with a walk-in closet, a full bath, a spacious game room and storage.

Immediately upon entering the front door of this modern remodel, you are greeted with a state-of-the-art lighted glass-front wine closet backed with quartz and wine pegs. Designed to highlight the owner’s superb worldwide wine collection and capture their travel memories, this spectacular wine closet and adjoining bar area provides the perfect serving area while entertaining family and friends.
A fresh mixture of finishes, colors, and style brings new life and traditional elegance to the streamlined kitchen. The generous quartz countertop island features raised stained butcher block for the bar seating area. The drop-down ceiling is detailed in stained wood with subtle brass inlays, recessed hood, and lighting.
A home addition allowed for a completely new primary bath design and layout, including a supersized walk-in shower, lighted dry sauna, soaking tub, and generous floating vanity with integrated sinks and radiant floor heating. The primary suite coordinates seamlessly with its stained tongue & groove raised ceiling, and wrapped beams.

A large addition to this Goleta home allowed for a spacious kitchen and a generously sized island. The two ceiling levels added to the interesting kitchen space. White with pewter accented cabinets pair with the Folkstone stained alder island. Sleek stainless steel appliances including a full fridge, separate freezer drawers, beverage mini-fridge, and a range top were integrated in to the cabinetry for a seamless look. Notice glass in the upper section of the tall wall cabinets on either side of the attractive wood hood which allows for both lighting and display. Note the generous cooking prep area and the ample clean up space. Tons of storage throughout the entire kitchen.
