Townhouse renovation in Brooklyn: We redesigned the rear end of the house as an expanded family kitchen with a back door to the deck. We also added a new connection from the entrance hall to the kitchen and fit a small powder room under the stairs. The old windows and doors were replaced with new, larger ones, and the entire kitchen was gutted and refitted with new cabinetry and a banquette dining area. Perimeter cabinets refinished to an off white finish. Island refinished to a walnut woodgrain finish. Add ons include new raised side panels, crown & light rail molding, corbels & glass door. New countertops include Absolute Black Honed granite on perimeter and Super White Quartzite on Island. The backsplash is Carrara subway tile. Refrigerator surround was rebuilt with new trim on the sides and top to attach the cabinets above to give it a custom look. New crown molding to tie this area in with the surrounding perimeter cabinets.

This dated kitchen got a major remodel. The new kitchen features traditional maple cabinets with a black glaze. The granite counter tops and new back splash finish off the updated elegant feel. Special features such as the pull out spice rack and mixer stand add to a custom feel.

Glazed honey maple kitchen cabinets are one of the most commonly used woods for wood kitchen cabinets. Most realtors will tell you that nothing is more appealing to potential home buyers than natural wood kitchen cabinets. They bring a sense of elegance and warmth into any kitchen. There are a number of additional advantages of wood kitchen cabinets.

This McLean family had recently built a family room addition and wanted to create an open concept kitchen to connect all the spaces. Schroeder Design/Build created a new kitchen, adjacent banquette seating area with storage and a screened porch. Now anyone in the kitchen can be a part of what's happening in the family room. An island with seating provides additional seating for nights of entertaining.

The wall of maple cabinet storage is from Wellborn, New Haven style in Bleu finish. Each grandchild gets their own section of storage. The bench seating (with more storage below!) has a Formica Flax Gauze top in Glacier Java. It also serves as a sep for smaller children to reach the upper storage shelves. This Wauwatosa Georgian Colonial home was in need of a kitchen remodel to that stayed true to the style of the home while blending in with the other recent updates made to the home. The previous kitchen had a broken stove, inefficient storage, high maintenance finishes, and lacked the simplicity that the clients wanted. Now after the remodel there is improved circulation into the dinette for entertaining family and friends. Lighting was vastly improved and now highlights the coffered ceiling, subway tile backsplash, and cabinetry. The clean look of the full overlay white Plato cabinetry allows for a contrast with the Verde Peacock Lite granite countertops. A 36″ Thermador cooktop and GE appliances provide for an updated stainless look and a kitchen ready for cooking. The Ebony stained maple hardwood flooring adds the final soft touch for an updated kitchen in 2015.

The home office portion of the gift wrapping room uses the same white maple Wellborn cabinets connected by walnut countertops. The office space was originally set up so the lady of the house had a computer and printer for her craft projects, but the man of the house finds himself (and their dog!) spending a lot of time at this station because it's inviting and inspiring.
