This residential kitchen project was performed in conjunction with Legacy Custom Homes/RSD, Frank Ponterio Interiors, and NuHaus/Exclusive Woodworking. The goal of this project was to fabricate and install marble slabs in a fashion that mimicked the custom millwork in the rest of this estate home on the Northshore of Chicago. John Tithof and Jason Cranmer, along with the fabrication production team, executed this project on behalf of Tithof Tile & Marble. The client wanted the panels to appear as if carved from dimensional stone blocks rather than the classic full height stone backsplash. One of the primary focuses was keeping the client involved through the templating and layout process to ensure they knew what their project would look like before anything was cut or installed. The evolution of this process has changed in recent years. Gone are the days of blue tape and visualizing the completed job. With the recent introduction of the revolutionary Perfect Match and Slabsmith software programs we have the ability to digitally layout every slab project and create a virtual representation of the project for approval prior to cutting.

A young family moving from NYC to their first home in Westchester County found this delightful colonial in Larchmont New York. Studio Dearborn teamed up with Classic Construction Group to redesign space. They stole four feet from the adjacent family room to accommodate a new, classic white kitchen open to the family room. Classic white wall cabinetry with a sophisticated island in soft grey is the focal point of this West Palm Beach kitchen that can convert to an open air kitchen. The cabinets above the Sub Zero refrigerator are in stainless matching the effect of the stainless column to the ceiling at the Wolf exhaust hood. Calacatta marble for the tops and full height backsplash complete this transitional inset kitchen.

We created a massive double shower with long bench and Pella clerestory window which frames the towering oak trees beyond. The steel gridscape showe door and panels speak to the windows. We clad the walls in a porcelain marble-like porcelain and the floors in the same porcelain but with a honed finish.

The existing kitchen was completely remodeled to create a compact chef's kitchen. The client is a true chef, who teaches cooking classes, and we were able to get a professional grade kitchen in an 11x7 footprint! The new island creates adequate prep space. The bookcases on the front add a ton of storage and interesting display in an otherwise useless walkway. The South wall is the exposed brick original to the 1900's home. To compliment the brick, we chose a warm nutmeg stain in cherry cabinets. The countertops are a durable quartz that look like marble but are sturdy enough for this work horse kitchen. The retro pendants are oversized to add a lot of interest in this small space.
