These South Shore of Boston Homeowners approached the Team at Renovisions to power-up their powder room. Their half bath, located on the first floor, is used by several guests particularly over the holidays. When considering the heavy traffic and the daily use from two toddlers in the household, it was smart to go with a stylish, yet practical design. Wainscot made a nice change to this room, adding an architectural interest and an overall classic feel to this cape-style traditional home. Installing custom wainscoting may be a challenge for most DIY’s, however in this case the homeowners knew they needed a professional and felt they were in great hands with Renovisions. Details certainly made a difference in this project; adding crown molding, careful attention to baseboards and trims had a big hand in creating a finished look. The painted wood vanity in color, sage reflects the trend toward using furniture-like pieces for cabinets. The smart configuration of drawers and door, allows for plenty of storage, a true luxury for a powder room. The quartz countertop was a stunning choice with veining of sage, black and white creating a Wow response when you enter the room. The dark stained wood trims and wainscoting were painted a bright white finish and allowed the selected green/beige hue to pop. Decorative black framed family pictures produced a dramatic statement and were appealing to all guests. The attractive glass mirror is outfitted with sconce light fixtures on either side, ensuring minimal shadows. The homeowners are thrilled with their new look and proud to boast what was once a simple bathroom into a showcase of their personal style and taste. "We are very happy with our new bathroom. A Gilmans Kitchens and Baths - Design Build Project (NKBA Award winning Guest Bath) All three bathrooms in this home were remodeled to match the updated, more contemporary furnishings of the other areas of the home. It was important to the clients that all of the spaces felt clean, spacious and that they were all functional. The master bathroom and daughter's bathroom feature shades of gray an white with textured and glossy cabinets. When these homeowners bought the executive property years ago they didn't really notice that all the bathroom countertops were several inches lower than today's standard height. Add that irritating anomaly to badly outdated bathrooms in terms of colors, materials and functionality, well, you've got the perfect remodeling storm—all three baths at once needed to be remodeled. This presented some challenges as well as some opportunities. Cost and time efficiencies can be gained by doing all the bathrooms at once, assuming the homeowners have a latrine out back, leave the property until the work is done, or have a fourth bathroom—which was the case with this ambitious project. The homeowners were able to continue to utilize their Master Bedroom throughout the project, as the prep for the work area included a temporary plastic wall barrier and floor coverings, creating a protected hallway to the workspace and keeping dust minimized in adjacent areas. In the end we updated the main floor powder room with new custom vanity, sink and mirror, replaced all the materials in the guest bathroom, including the tub, opened up the feel and functionality without changing the foot print, and completely gutted the master bath, moving the vanity wall forward to allow for a much larger walk-in shower. This bathroom design in Yardley, PA offers a soothing spa retreat, featuring warm colors, natural textures, and sleek lines. The DuraSupreme floating vanity cabinet with a Chroma door in a painted black finish is complemented by a Cambria Beaumont countertop and striking brass hardware. The color scheme is carried through in the Sigma Stixx single handled satin brass finish faucet, as well as the shower plumbing fixtures, towel bar, and robe hook. Two unique round mirrors hang above the vanity and a Toto Drake II toilet sits next to the vanity. The alcove shower design includes a Fleurco Horizon Matte Black shower door. We created a truly relaxing spa retreat with a teak floor and wall, textured pebble style backsplash, and soothing motion sensor lighting under the vanity.

Here we recreated the primary bath by borrowing space from an adjacent laundry room and hall bath. The new design delivers a spacious bathroom suite with the bonus of improved laundry storage.

This small guest bath has lots of room. The pocket door installation and the bard door shower glass doors created a much more functional space.
