This client asked me to provide them with ample storage in their ski vacation condo's kitchen. I wanted to take advantage of the end wall to maximize the countertop and give them more storage with a cabinet under the new range that is 92" wide. Even though the cabinet is well supported, the cabinet opening has no center divider which would hinder any individual seeking out pots and kettles from below. The other elements fell into logical places including a generous pantry to the right of the refrigerator. In trying to maintain the sleek look of the backsplash, I worked diligently with the electrician to avoid outlets in the backsplash area as much as possible using Task Lighting's angled power strips. I love working with the outlet strips that tuck up under the cabinetry; they are brilliantly discreet. One of the special elements in this kitchen is the log pedestal base under the cantilevered bar top that is a continuation of the cap on the half wall. This log is from my neighbor's tree which they were cutting down in perfect timing with this renovation. Other components from this same tree are incorporated elsewhere in the condo. The owners of this 1950s colonial on Philadelphia’s Main Line wanted to preserve its traditional architecture and take advantage of the kitchen’s ample footprint. In addition to reworking the floorplan and improving the flow, the owner wanted a large island with several seating options, a desk area and a small table for dining. One of the design goals was to transform the spacious room into a functional kitchen that still felt intimate and comfortable for everyday use. Furniture style inset cabinetry kept the room in tune with the home’s original character and made it feel less utilitarian. Removing the wall that hindered the flow and views between the kitchen and the adjacent family room ensured that the main entertaining areas flowed together. Stylistically, we wanted to avoid the typical white kitchen, opting instead to pull in rich wood tones to create a warmer and more classic look.

This Riverdale courtyard is a beautiful, multi-functional space specifically designed to meet the needs of the client. The small bbq shelf on the upper deck provides just the right amount of space without hindering the transition down to grade. Wrapped steps ramp up the style in a very simple, linear space. Artificial turf is great for the resident dog, and it can take a beating from a kids using the basketball net. The perimeter walkway is heated in the winter so that there is always a clear path to the garage, no matter the weather. Wide re-purposed carriage doors swing into the yard and allow the garage to integrate with the landscape. The space under the deck is a perfect hidden lounge with total privacy and a sense of calm. A custom screen hides the AC unit, and the trough drain becomes a playful feature with a whimsical fish pattern.

Guest Bedroom: A neutral color palette with hints of tan and texture, gathers the space in a harmonious look. Mix of modern and ethnic set of hanging lights brings the space together beautifully! There's almost a hidden(camouflaged) wardrobe area, that goes unnoticed and doesn't hinders the aesthetics of the space. The accent chair with side table suffices the functional need of the client providing them a corner to relax and take the views in.
