How about a media room with soft separation by stone and walnut columns, LED lighted tray ceiling with crown molding, Runco projector, 108” screen surrounded by 10’ x 9’ built-in custom walnut woodwork and stone columns including a component cabinet with slots for subwoofers?

The main goal with this design was to reintegrate the kitchen with the rest of the unit’s living space, creating a free flow between the kitchen area and the living room, allowing for easy communication between family members, or between host and guests. The use of black cabinetry, however, creates a certain demarcation between the two spaces so that it is clear where one space ends and the other begins – thereby ensuring that this elegant space does not feel like an efficiency kitchen.

An upholstered full-size bed in sky blue surrounded by violet walls are the cooler tones with touches of black and white used for this soft and soothing terrace bedroom. Our goal on this project was to make the main floor of this lovely early 20th century home in a popular Vancouver neighborhood work for a growing family of four. We opened up the space, both literally and aesthetically, with windows and skylights, an efficient layout, some carefully selected furniture pieces and a soft colour palette that lends a light and playful feel to the space. Our clients can hardly believe that their once small, dark, uncomfortable main floor has become a bright, functional and beautiful space where they can now comfortably host friends and hang out as a family.
