Our vision for this new-build condo was to create a captivating space that celebrates our client’s individuality, bringing together a diverse mix of styles, textures, and elements while maintaining a cohesive and contemporary feel. It combines the fresh, clean look of white as the predominant color with eclectic accents that add our client’s personality and character to the space. There are several “areas'' within this multi-functional space. A large sectional in a greige velvet serves as the centerpiece of the seating area, grounded by pops of blue and pink in the custom Morrocan rug. The cobalt blue theme is carried throughout, seen in the accents, art and even the ombre glass console table of the entry. A set of two blue swivel chairs by the windows, are the perfect setting for a glass of wine in the early evening as the light glistens in through the custom white sheers. The airy dining table is made of glass and carved marble and surrounded by chrome sculptural dining chairs. Above, the multi-faceted antique mirror multi-pendant chandelier drips down from the high ceiling. Our client’s antique carved wood chairs, reupholstered in a linen zebra, flank the selenite and brass bar cabinet. In the corner by the fireplace, a lucite and cowhide desk is paired with a brightly colored vintage chair. On the right of the fireplace, a leather swing, perfectly suited for reading. Lastly, the white kitchen with shimmering blue quartzite countertops brings the design in full circle.

Claude Clémaron Bespoke Wood Interiors built this luxury bespoke fitted living room cabinets for our client’s residence in Guildford, Surrey. Expertly crafted and made to last in sustainable wood, the storage and display furniture brings unique character to the room. The style, dimensions and composition of the fitted furniture pieces was briefed by our client’s interior designer. The floor to ceiling and wall to wall bespoke cabinetry wraps around the doorway leading to the entrance hall. Other features include a custom-lit space to accommodate a piano, two fireside niches housing a pair of matching table lamps and tailored cubbyhole display boxes. Cubbies are more versatile than shelving in a unit, as they can display items such as ornaments and pictures and can be individually customised with lighting, doors or internal shelves. The result is a beautifully organised multipurpose media room and music lounge for relaxing, watching TV, entertaining and playing the piano. Classic shaker-style with contemporary features Handcrafted in a classic style in a deep grey green satin matt finish the cabinetry also incorporates contemporary features such as lighting and concealed cabling. To minimise disruption and speed installation, the cabinets were prefinished in Fallow & Ball Card Room Green before delivery. The lower cupboards feature shaker-style recessed flat panel doors. These are handle-free with concealed hinges to maintain the unit’s streamlined look; and the soft-closing doors are operated by an effortless push to open system. Integrated lighting with concealed wiring The made to measure fitted unit has been customised with integrated lighting. Lights include spotlights for the piano player, essential for reading sheet music, and flush built in mini-LED downlights in some of the display openings to highlight key items. Concealed sensors mean it only takes a wave of the hand to dim or switch the lights on or off. Both lighting and cabling were installed into the cabinets prior to installation with wiring concealed, yet accessible.

Bay spacing and sequences of light and dark, glass and partition, were upheld in the renovation and restoration, as were the classic modern reveal details, which let each material read individually. Architect Bohlin Cywinski Jackson, Seattle,WA Stone Installers Gallegos Corporation, Basalt, CO Stone Supplier Quarra Stone Company, Madison, WI Stone Quarry Bertozzi Felice di Rovai G & C Srl, Pietrasanta (LU), Italy Truffer AG, Vals, Switzerland The Independence Pass Residence is sited at the edge of a nature preserve in Aspen, Colorado with views of an alpine meadow, forests of evergreen and aspen trees, the Roaring Fork River and the Rocky Mountains. The owners requested something very different from large, ostentatious heavy-timber homes that appear throughout the Aspen slopes: a home that would reach out to nature, not to gird against it; one that would feel light and modern, yet not on display. Approached from the north, a driveway leads from the main road to a private parking court, sheltered from wind and weather. The house stretches between two existing hills on the site; forming a threshold to the views of the meandering river and nature preserve beyond. The lower level is expressed as a series of stone-clad walls that extend the building into the landscape. The upper level is a sleek box with a metal roof that floats on slender columns. Pre-weathered wood siding is used to clad the upper level of the buildings and will continue to weather to a silver grey. All exterior cladding materials are intended to weather naturally with little maintenance to a palette of soft grays. A wall of black-stained cedar boards marks the main entry and extends through the house into a double-height space with a floating stair. Cantilevered wood stair treads lead to the upper level and main living pavilion where full-height walls of glass reveal panoramic views of the nature preserve and New York peak. The living room, dining room and kitchen occupy the center of the linear floor plan, with a master bedroom suite to the west and a family room and outdoor courtyard to the east. A fireplace clad in Vals quartzite forms the western edge of the living room with a large skylight above. A reading alcove with a bench of wood slats is lined with Douglas fir panels and stainless steel shelves for display of the owner’s photography collection. Sliding panels of glass open to an outdoor deck, further blurring the boundary between interior and exterior. A second stair connecting all levels of the house is crafted of a one-inch thick steel plate that is both structure and guardrail, slicing through the vertical space. Ground level spaces include three bedrooms with individual baths, a guest suite, mudroom and exercise room.
