We designed this hall bath as an "exotic luxury" destination, utilizing a specialized Kohler DTV electronic control system to manage a precision hydrotherapy array. It’s a sophisticated, compact spa experience that offers guests the same level of technical performance found in the primary suite. Technical & Artisan Highlights: Exotic Glass Tile Artistry: The focal point of the shower is the stunning floor-to-ceiling back wall, featuring an intricate, high-gloss glass mosaic tile in a Moroccan-inspired pattern. This exotic texture is balanced by dark, linear-grain porcelain side walls, creating a bold, high-contrast aesthetic. Streamlined DTV Digital Control: The shower is powered by a computerized DTV interface (visible on the left wall), allowing guests to digitally program their perfect water temperature and flow. This removes the clutter of traditional valves for a sleek, modern look. Integrated Body Massage Array: Despite the streamlined design, this shower packs a punch with three wall-mounted massaging body sprayers. These are strategically aligned to provide a targeted hydrotherapy experience, all controlled via the digital keypad. Versatile Handheld Wand: For added functionality and ease of maintenance, we integrated a professional-grade handheld spray wand on a sliding bar. This provides a flexible secondary water source that complements the fixed massage heads. Custom Glass & Lighting: The shower is enclosed in heavy-duty, frameless glass to keep the focus on the decorative tile work. We also integrated recessed LED lighting to highlight the reflective qualities of the glass mosaic, giving the space a constant "jewel-box" glow.

Hayden Master Spa: 18-Head Digital Hydrotherapy & Total Sensory Wellness This master en-suite in Hayden, Idaho, is a masterclass in high-tech wellness and custom engineering. We moved beyond standard luxury to create a "Total Immersion" environment, centered around a massive, custom-tiled steam suite that functions as a private residential spa. This project demonstrates our ability to integrate complex computerized systems with high-end architectural finishes. The Ultimate Spa Features: 18-Head Digital Shower Matrix: The heart of the suite is a Kohler DTV digital interface, controlling a massive array of 18 total water outlets. This includes a ceiling-mounted rainforest head, high-pressure wall-mounted massaging body sprayers, and precision handshowers—all programmable for a customized hydrotherapy experience. Polk Audio Soundscape: To create a truly immersive atmosphere, we integrated a high-fidelity Polk Audio sound system with Bluetooth connectivity. These moisture-resistant, marine-grade speakers are built directly into the shower architecture, providing crisp, studio-quality audio. Integrated Towel Warmer: For the ultimate post-shower experience, we installed a professional-grade towel warmer. This feature ensures that the spa feeling doesn't end when the water stops, providing perfectly heated towels that complement the overall warmth of the room. Intelligent Thermal Control: Beneath the large-format Italian porcelain tile, we installed a thermostat-controlled radiant heating system. This provides invisible, consistent warmth that extends from the vanity area directly into the shower floor. The residence – an ensemble of structures designed in a modern ranch vernacular – is effortlessly unified through layered, interconnected outdoor gathering spaces and regional materials that elaborates upon the experience of moving between structures, heightening and renewing one’s sense of place. Upon entering the courtyard, one is immediately aware of seamless and unfolding relationships between architecture and landscape through a sophisticated, regional palette of natural stone, water, and plants. Set upon architectural focal points, two perpendicular sandstone paths descend into the space and converge upon a monolithic, hand-carved granite fountain. The design of the fountain is purposefully quiet, both in its detailing and operation. The feature includes a recessed interior, allowing water to become still before it reaches the surface, with lightly cleft sides, allowing the water to delicately bounce as it descends into the geometric lower granite basin. The landscape architect’s selection of various stone material extends the tones of the home’s granite walls and contextual surroundings into the garden, but also be detailed in a manner that balances rural and modern qualities. The majority of the paving is constructed of rectilinear gray sandstone with a natural finish and snapped edges, laid in a staggered running bond organization. Throughout the garden, thoughtful attention was also given to the configuration and layout of terraces, pathways, and steps. In doing so, this ensured that the edges of the terrace and its interface to other elements were designed so that no “leftover” stone paver pieces would be found. Within the central courtyard, split-faced stone stairs descend into a rectilinear plinth of lawn, punctuated by a carved granite fire pit. Leveraging the property’s existing topographic relief, a shallow infinity-edge dipping pool abstracts the transparent and cavity-like pools found throughout the Rocky Mountains. The design purposefully achieves the illusion of a larger water feature with the distant pond and offers a refreshing recreational element. Containing the infinity edge, a designed granite escarpment emerges from the meadow, juxtaposing the geometric water feature and providing informal seating ledges. The site’s prior use required the landscape architect to incorporate a highly technical and complex sub-surface structural system. The initial geotechnical report identified the building envelopes rested on 12 feet of man-placed fill. Assuming a 1 percent settlement, the team faced concerns that the terraces would settle up to 12 inches. In response, a grid of structural micro-piles provides the necessary foundation for the construction of terraces immediately outside of the architecture, under the water features and site walls. The solution enabled the crisp detailing and design resolution of the architectural structures to seamlessly connect with the horizontal stone terraces.

We used the Screeneze Screen Porch System in Bronze to screen the porch. The Screeneze framing system is Screeneze also available in White, Sand, and Clay. Bronze works here with the porch’s dark walnut color scheme. We also created an X-shaped barn-style cedar knee wall for the screened porch. We stained the wood dark walnut with extra walnut stain for an extra rich finish to match the porch ceiling.

This project includes multiple hardwired outdoor speaker bollards around the backyard space which also integrates with outdoor TV.
