Custom Grabill appliance panels were used on a 30” Thermador refrigerator and a 24” freezer, giving the look of a unified hidden pantry. An open hutch above was incorporated to allow for display space within the kitchen, illuminated with puck lighting. A Thermador rangetop with a custom hood creates a focal point within one area of the perimeter, while a Bella Casa Farm Sink allows for a second focal point in the perimeter.

When a couple with young children decided to purchase their first Manhattan apartment, they called in designer Christopher Maya to create something livable and contemporary. In the Foyer, you are greeted by a phillip jeffries gold leaf ceiling that is adorned with two scalloped flush mounts from shades of light. Photographer: Christian Harder

This inviting space features a decorative concrete patio with a custom concrete fire pit and Ipe floating bench. The lush landscaping and cedar privacy fence provides a tranquil setting for city living.

Home bar - transitional home bar idea in Chicago

A beautiful transitional design was created by removing the range and microwave and adding a cooktop, under counter oven and hood. The microwave was relocated and an under counter microwave was incorporated into the design. These appliances were moved to balance the design and create a perfect symmetry. Additionally the small appliances, coffee maker, blender and toaster were incorporated into the pantries to keep them hidden and the tops clean. The walls were removed to create a great room concept that not only makes the kitchen a larger area but also transmits an inviting design appeal. The master bath room had walls removed to accommodate a large double vanity. Toilet and shower was relocated to recreate a better design flow. Products used were Miralis matte shaker white cabinetry.
