The wide-span, open wing design provides a feeling of open movement and flow throughout the home. Interior design elements are tightly edited to their most elemental form. This is the hallway from the garage. Note the energy-efficient LED strips in the upper cabinets providing plenty of light behind the glass and below. These are rated at 2700k which provides a color similar to incandescent lighting. Design solutions included creating a great prep space with Taj Mahal countertops that provides excellent space for work but the area is completely hidden from the point of view from the great room. Another design solution to note is the hidden door to the pantry at the far right side of the cabinetry. Behind the door is a full pantry with an ice maker, wine room and refrigerator. Barnett, Ltd. In keeping with the grand Palladian architectural style of the Pondbank House, the landscape architect has created an impressive series of complementary Mediterranean garden spaces using local stone for terracing and High Plains adapted plants. In addition to a kitchen and cutting garden and diverse planting schemes featuring over 250 species, there are many delightful pieces of garden art and creative garden details. Decorative fountain walls distribute roof and storm drainage to terraced plantings. An infinity lawn edge creates a “ha-ha” effect from the pool terrace to the borrowed landscape in the distance. A lovely moon gate leads to a secluded Japanese-style spa garden, an “aromabo” for contemplative relaxation and outdoor aromatherapy. H2D transformed this Mercer Island home into a light filled place to enjoy family, friends and the outdoors. The waterfront home had sweeping views of the lake which were obstructed with the original chopped up floor plan. The goal for the renovation was to open up the main floor to create a great room feel between the sitting room, kitchen, dining and living spaces. A new kitchen was designed for the space with warm toned VG fir shaker style cabinets, reclaimed beamed ceiling, expansive island, and large accordion doors out to the deck. The kitchen and dining room are oriented to take advantage of the waterfront views. Other newly remodeled spaces on the main floor include: entry, mudroom, laundry, pantry, and powder. The remodel of the second floor consisted of combining the existing rooms to create a dedicated master suite with bedroom, large spa-like bathroom, and walk in closet. Example of an eclectic living room design in St Louis

The inspiration for this dining room came from a massive 19th century French trumeau mirror in need of major restoration. The space originally had a mural, and needed something just as grand in scale to take its place. The clients travelled to France frequently and loved the look of floor to ceiling boiserie which is so prevalent there. In order to achieve that look without paying $100k to import boiserie, we transformed a grand scale trumeau and trimmed it to fit exactly in the space as a boiserie trumeau would. Tonal shifts between Farrow and Ball French Grey and Light Grey create depth while working an overall tone. The chairs, 1950's Maison Jansen, were an incredible find at auction. They were reupholstered to blend with the tone on tone effect of the room.
