Our Denver studio designed the office area for the Designer Showhouse, and it’s all about female empowerment. Our design language expresses a powerful, well-traveled woman who is also the head of a family and creates subtle, calm strength and harmony. Our client was drawn to the property in Wesley Heights as it was in an established neighborhood of stately homes, on a quiet street with views of park. They wanted a traditional home for their young family with great entertaining spaces that took full advantage of the site. The site was the challenge. The natural grade of the site was far from traditional. The natural grade at the rear of the property was about thirty feet above the street level. Large mature trees provided shade and needed to be preserved. The solution was sectional. The first floor level was elevated from the street by 12 feet, with French doors facing the park. We created a courtyard at the first floor level that provide an outdoor entertaining space, with French doors that open the home to the courtyard.. By elevating the first floor level, we were able to allow on-grade parking and a private direct entrance to the lower level pub "Mulligans". An arched passage affords access to the courtyard from a shared driveway with the neighboring homes, while the stone fountain provides a focus. A sweeping stone stair anchors one of the existing mature trees that was preserved and leads to the elevated rear garden. The second floor master suite opens to a sitting porch at the level of the upper garden, providing the third level of outdoor space that can be used for the children to play. The home's traditional language is in context with its neighbors, while the design allows each of the three primary levels of the home to relate directly to the outside. www.leichtCA.com MODO | DESIGN OPTIONS A functional vision for the backsplash. The house of LEICHT has designed the MODO system, focusing on the exciting contrast of metal and natural wood. It will enhance every modern kitchen with it's clear lines and puristic form language. It provides easy access to the required cooking utensils and eases the straight lined kitchen architecture at the same time. A horizontal square railing of stainless steel colored aluminium screwed directly onto the niche back wall, provides the basic support element. Several function elements in lacquered solid oak are suspended here in various positions. The choice of instruments: shelves, paper roll holders, hook rail, utensil holder and a knife block. Separate function items can also be used as a shelf for smaller items. All lighting developed and designed by LEICHT demonstrates energy efficiency class A+ UL listed and is thus highly efficient. premium LED light with 4100 K (Kelvin) luminous color.

The playful design solution incorporated natural palette of materials such as recycled timber, stone and weatherboard creating a blended connection between the indoor and outdoor environment. The controlled interplay of details and natural materials have developed a language reminiscent of the Currumbin Beach style and develops an aesthetic that provides a soft human scale appropriate for children. The Timber battened Entry façade creates a contemporary cubic form of which replicates consistently through the integrated hubby house playground design. Renovation of the existing house created three classrooms, staffroom and utility spaces creating a feeling of home and strong connection to the Currumbin creek through the dappled landscaped vista. Extension areas created two classrooms and administrative areas are linked by a series of breezeway covered areas which provide shelter and safe sanctuary. Joint Venture between the Childcare and Wellness Centre to the front enabled carparking and accessibility of the battle-axe site.

This project provides a new two-story addition to an historic converted stable barn that was once associated with the 60-acre Hamilton Estate in Irvington, New York. The new design continues the unique language of the converted brick stable and Second Empire slate mansard roof. The addition provides a proper kitchen to the ground floor. Large single-pane glass windows continue the existing architecture to maximize interior natural light and provide panoramic views of the adjacent Hudson River. The kitchen features reclaimed cherry custom cabinets, white marble countertops and new oak hardwood flooring. On the second floor, the addition expands the master bedroom to include an ensuite bathroom and changing room. The second floor features reclaimed pine floors, and white Turkish marble bathroom tiles.

The goal. A modern reinterpretation of a Mediterranean home with light, airy spaces leading to jaw dropping views of the ocean and private beach. Architecturally, the character of the existing house was respected while creating larger spaces to distinctly alter its appearance.The design language was simple, organic, and elegant. Classic details and a modern approach created a sophisticated and refreshing new layout. Prominent works of art featured upon entering this seaside escape by Picasso, Allora & Calzadilla, Anish Kapoor, Robert Pruitt to Blair Thurman invigorate the overall calming color palette. Contemporary furnishings, bright red color accents, luxe finishes and textures with elements of classic and contemporary design tell a story about the transformation of this property into an exquisitely bold and refined personal paradise.

The shelterbelt house is a nod to the aging buildings of the western prairies. The residence is sited on a small rural parcel enveloped by a mature windrow. The exterior language focuses on the use of local natural materials, incorporating a durable wood surface finish and a calming charcoal palette. This is further complemented by the structure's simple layout and gabled roof form. A large central void on the ground level forms the main living area, becoming the focal point centered with the entry road to the site. Edged by flanking glass walls, it provides effortless access to an adjacent surrounding terrace, allowing occupants to associate with the adjacent sylvan landscape. Some projects just come together beautifully, and this Lymington home was one of them. The main kitchen pairs two gorgeous finishes: painted timber doors in Little Greene's Delicate Blue, a soft, gentle blue that works so well with the coastal light, alongside warm natural oak. The island is entirely bespoke, while the fridge housing features bespoke oak doors, concealing a Fisher & Paykel fridge freezer behind cabinetry. The rest of the kitchen is fully equipped with Miele appliances. Just off the kitchen, the boot room and utility space carry the same design language in a slightly softer register. Tucked behind the kitchen, the pantry is dark, dramatic and utterly inviting, with deep indigo blue doors paired with dark walnut-effect shelving, all softly lit with task lighting.
