We really opened up and reorganized this kitchen to give the clients a more modern update and increased functionality and storage. The backsplash is a main focal point and the color palette is very sleek while being warm and inviting. Like most high rises in the city, this kitchen was lacking in square footage. To give the illusion of more space, super white cabinetry from Grabill Cabinet Company and Arabascato quartzite countertops were installed. Perfect for entertaining, dual peninsulas comfortably provide seating for four people. The multi-tiered ceiling provides both general task lighting & ambient cove lighting accentuating the architectural details in this kitchen. The Wolf induction cooktop and single oven, along with the Broan ventilation system, fit perfectly on limited available wall space. Neutral arabesque glass backsplash tile was used on the wall behind the hood to create an eye-catching focal point.

A stainless Dacor microwave drawer was installed in a base cabinet with a functioning drawer beneath it. This design choice helps maximize the amount of usable countertop space and makes the kitchen more visually appealing by tucking it out-of-sight instead of atop the counter. This also aids in the minimalistic and contemporary feel of the space.

A whimsical bathroom created for my children, but sophisticated enough to be enjoyed by adults. It is wrapped in an aviary toile, and accented with a bold mirror. The lowest drawer pulls out and has a lid on it. It can hold up to 90 pounds and acts as a stepping stool for young children. When they grow, you can pop off the lid and it returns to full use as a drawer. Home located in Star Valley Ranch, Wyoming. This family room provides an ample amount of seating for when there is company over and also provides a comfy sanctuary to read and relax. Being so close to horse farms and vineyards, we wanted to play off the surrounding characteristics and include some corresponding attributes in the home. Brad Knipstein was the photographer.

We removed three walls to open this kitchen up to the great room and breakfast area so the family and guests could visit while meals are being prepared. The custom cabinetry, designed by Bay Area Kitchens, was meticulously hand crafted to our exact specifications by Wood-Mode Custom Cabinetry in Kreamer, PA. A medium gray stain was applied to the solid walnut 1" thick doors and drawer fronts. The cabinets were designed and accessorized to maximize storage space and convenient access, including various sizes and depths of drawers, pull-out racks, tray dividers and a heavy-duty mixer base. The built-in Sub-Zero refrigerator, combination convection steam oven and single convection oven, 48" rangetop with six dual burners plus a flat-top griddle, and microwave drawer are the heart of this true gourmet kitchen. Appropriate appliances are Wi-Fi connected for maximum convenience. Topping off the custom cabinetry are Cambria quartz countertops, plus two solid walnut countertops with "live" edges by Grothouse. We also installed an automated LED lighting system including cabinet interior lighting, under-cabinet lighting, and LED recessed cans, all controlled by Lutron's RadioRA wireless lighting control system. All the lighting can be controlled by any of the five wall panels, or by an iPhone or iPad. The cabinets are also equipped with an integrated stereo sound system completely concealed within the cabinets. The interior of the cabinets in this kitchen were not working well for the homeowner. They wanted to keep their kitchen design and improve the functionality with convenient storage options. We added 2 garbage drawers that worked around the sink plumbing, double tiered corner cabinet pull out system and roll out drawers in other cabinets.

Crisp white cabinetry was accented by a dark patina-ed cherry with heavy distressing. The rich island color is mimicked by original hardwood oak floors stained a darker shade than the original honey oak of the past. Two tone counter tops compliment one another with a rich Leathered Black and the dramatic patterned granite of the island. The fresh white ceramic backsplash shines with mitred bricks from an era past, and herringbone detail hemmed by elegant gray marble accents. The built in refrigerator is flanked by matching pantry pairs on each side, handily equipped with plenty of functional pull out drawers to store every cook’s required ingredients. The island seats the entire family, but also houses handsomely a glass front beverage center, a microwave oven, a trash pull out, and a warming drawer; all hidden behind customized matching panel doors. Just across from the island a custom matching cook book cabinet fits in nicely holding all of the cook’s favorite recipes just a few steps from this cook’s new dream kitchen.

These floor to ceiling book shelves double as a storage and an eye- capturing focal point that surrounds the head board, making the bed in this master bedroom, the center of attention. The 1790 Garvin-Weeks Farmstead is a beautiful farmhouse with Georgian and Victorian period rooms as well as a craftsman style addition from the early 1900s. The original house was from the late 18th century, and the barn structure shortly after that. The client desired architectural styles for her new master suite, revamped kitchen, and family room, that paid close attention to the individual eras of the home. The master suite uses antique furniture from the Georgian era, and the floral wallpaper uses stencils from an original vintage piece. The kitchen and family room are classic farmhouse style, and even use timbers and rafters from the original barn structure. The expansive kitchen island uses reclaimed wood, as does the dining table. The custom cabinetry, milk paint, hand-painted tiles, soapstone sink, and marble baking top are other important elements to the space. The historic home now shines. Eric Roth
