By honoring the architectural features and majestic shade trees, the landscape was revitalized to create a lush and vibrant environment. Careful selection and incorporation of diverse plant species added aesthetic value and enhanced biodiversity across the expansive two-acre property. Leveraging the presence of large shade trees, a unique microclimate was created, allowing for the cultivation of distinctive plant styles that thrived in their canopy. This project seamlessly integrated "revival" elements, preserving aesthetics and embracing a revitalized future, harmoniously blending lushness, color diversity, and the advantages of existing shade trees.

This 600 SF, three car garage with a living unit above takes advantage of a wide site and a recent zoning change. Globeville continues to see investment and change due to the upcoming expansion of the National Western Complex. This was one of the first projects to leverage recent changes in the Denver Master Plan to allow ADU's in the area. The project consists of a shifting metal box with the void space becoming an entry. A perforated facade screen creates a unique character for the entry, both day and night. The glass garage door opens to expand the side yard and provide a covered option for outdoor events.

Through the radical embrace of nature, guests are greeted by a 16’ tall Australian Brachychiton tree as they enter the double-height entry. The home is organized around a large, outdoor courtyard which creates fluid continuity and access between the indoor and outdoors. From a chandelier of ceramic bells to a locally sourced, custom dining table, every major element has been calibrated to add to timeless composition of the home.

this Traditional-inspired kitchen remodel, we aimed to transition an outdated, warm-wooded space into a vibrant, expansive gathering spot with minimal layout alterations. By introducing new cabinets and adopting a fresh color scheme, we swiftly revitalized the area, giving it an added brightness and a sense of airiness. The key to the transformation lay in reimagining the layout – removing the counter barstool space and replacing it with an island instantly ushered in an open-concept plan, enhancing the kitchen's spaciousness and facilitating seamless movement within the area. What's remarkable about this renovation is that it leveraged existing elements while making only minor adjustments, yet the impact was nothing short of profound. Through thoughtful design choices, strategic modifications, and plenty of smart storage solutions, we achieved a complete new creation.

Space and light are well leveraged in this mid mod main floor, where spaces are both open yet defined from kitchen to lounge to dining area, and all well lit by a wall of windows and sliding glass doors. Originally designed by esteemed PNW mid century architect, Ralph Anderson, this renovation won Historic Remodel Excellence award with Master Builders of King and Snohomish County in 2024.

The skylight was maximized to its full potential by surrounding it with pristine white walls, creating an airy and luminous atmosphere. Original windows were restored and reopened to bring natural light into the work, collaboration, and meeting spaces. Many wall finishes, including large marble slabs, were kept and integrated with the new finishes. Thoughtful programming completes the transformation of the former 1920s bank and creates a new benchmark in call centers for PNC. JURY COMMENTS: This project leverages the existing qualities of the building. The result is that this outstanding building will be retained as a vibrant use in the city.

A Fond Remembrance This renovated kitchen harkens back to simpler time, mixing old-world style with sleek modern appliances. We chose traditional materials for some aspects like the pewter handles on the natural cherry cabinets. Other choices merely look traditional but leverage modern construction like the two tone basket weave frosted glass back splash and the granite like acrylic counter tops.

Client wanted another staircase added to the existing deck that leveraged the small space and accommodated a wide walkway. The tree added a fun center point to the staircase and nice shade for this area of the home.

We were given the challenge of designing a house overlooking a pond on a site constrained by wetlands. Our client had an interest in permanence and solidity and a desire to work with architectural concrete. Additionally, the client desired interiors that would showcase their substantial art collection. Our design approach began with the footprint of an L-shaped courtyard house, which in part, was determined by the limited buildable area. The house is sited on a natural rise in the land, allowing the first floor elevation to rise 15 ft above the pond’s surface; this height provides dynamic views through the trees that separate the house from the pond. Ultimately, our design leverages the inherent capabilities of architectural concrete i.e. its structural capacity; the material allows for bold cantilevers and expanses of glass, creating greater transparency between interior and exterior environments. The interior palette is comprised of rift sawn oak with 16-inch wide oak plank flooring, oak casework and millwork, a stainless steel and glass main staircase, and minimalist concrete details throughout. On the upper level, the plan accommodates a master bedroom suite, three children’s bedrooms, and a family room. The first floor includes a guest bedroom, living room, kitchen, dining room, office, and family room. The ground level has a recreational room, a mudroom, and office/studio. The site plan employs native plantings and includes a small resistance pool in the courtyard. Concrete will be utilized for all of the house’s structural and insulation components. This method modulates the fluctuation of interior temperature, creating both an energy-efficient envelope and enough concrete mass to keep temperatures moderate and consistent throughout a 24-hour day. The employment of triple-glazed windows and a triple-glazed aluminum curtain wall further increases the project’s energy efficiency and allows the house to have abundant glass. Natural light permeates the interior and affords spectacular view in all directions of both Todd Pond and the neighboring woodlands.

Room by room, we’re taking on this 1970’s home and bringing it into 2021’s aesthetic and functional desires. The homeowner’s started with the bar, lounge area, and dining room. Bright white paint sets the backdrop for these spaces and really brightens up what used to be light gold walls. We leveraged their beautiful backyard landscape by incorporating organic patterns and earthy botanical colors to play off the nature just beyond the huge sliding doors. Since the rooms are in one long galley orientation, the design flow was extremely important. Colors pop in the dining room chandelier (the showstopper that just makes this room “wow”) as well as in the artwork and pillows. The dining table, woven wood shades, and grasscloth offer multiple textures throughout the zones by adding depth, while the marble tops’ and tiles’ linear and geometric patterns give a balanced contrast to the other solids in the areas. The result? A beautiful and comfortable entertaining space!

Refurnishing this Melshire Estates home with a fresh, transitional look and feel was just what this client wanted. We mainly leveraged neutrals and some blues to keep things visually calm and then it was all about delivering comfort for their active family. The fireplace was updated with a cast stone surround, giving this family room focal point a much needed facelift. The powder bath received a sophisticated renovation and light fixtures throughout the home were replaced with fixtures that uniquely reflect the client’s personality in every room. The star of the show in this home is the dining room, featuring a large, commissioned original art piece as well as the most stunning ceiling light fixture. It’s impossible to feel anything but cheery when you walk by this room!
