They desired their own separate oasis with more privacy and asked us to design and add a 2nd story addition over the existing 1st floor family room, that would include a master suite with a laundry/gift wrapping room. We added a 2nd story addition without adding to the existing footprint of the home. The addition is entered through a private hallway with a separate spacious laundry room, complete with custom storage cabinetry, sink area, and countertops for folding or wrapping gifts. The bedroom is brimming with details such as custom built-in storage cabinetry with fine trim mouldings, window seats, and a fireplace with fine trim details. The master bathroom was designed with comfort in mind. A custom double vanity and linen tower with mirrored front, quartz countertops and champagne bronze plumbing and lighting fixtures make this room elegant. Water jet cut Calcatta marble tile and glass tile make this walk-in shower with glass window panels a true work of art. And to complete this addition we added a large walk-in closet with separate his and her areas, including built-in dresser storage, a window seat, and a storage island. The finished renovation is their private spa-like place to escape the busyness of life in style and comfort. These delightful homeowners are already talking phase two of renovations with us and we look forward to a longstanding relationship with them.

Clients were wanting to expand their 50's era semi-bungalow to a full two storey so they could add one more bedroom and bathroom to their second level. Part of the plan was to create an actual master suite with proper ensuite bathroom and walk-in closet space. Phase one took the project to drywall stage, but later we added phase two where we finished the rest of the second level to finish stage along with a complete refresh of the main level with new finishings including flooring and counter-tops. The exterior of the home was also re-done including new windows, doors, and siding plus roof shingles of course. The result was a great and expanded character bungalow in a very desirable area located close to downtown.

From a sliding glass door off the living room one steps directly onto an enlarged deck of epi, surrounded by a glass railing. A hot tub at the far end takes full advantage of the property's perch above the ocean beyond and is a perfect spot to watch the waves or the expanse of stars above.

A second oven, microwave drawer and warming drawer were located close to the range. A dishwasher was installed in the island, and for additional storage, new, tall pantry cabinets were placed across from the island. Cabinets were painted cream with a charcoal glaze. A focal point was created by a buffet that includes a wet bar, sink and ice maker. The buffet cabinets are painted black to match the island, along with a decorative backsplash and granite counter in "Ice White." A chevron pattern tile backsplash blends the colors of the cabinetry and the floor, while pendant lights over the island create a striking effect.
