This 1926 brick fraternity had arch windows at each end of the third floor. This end was originally the focal window for the Chapter Room. We turned turned it into a bedroom floor with a central hall and a stair at each end.
But we loved the arched windows. So we kept the original transom sash over the new opening to the addition. And we put a new arched window in the room at the end.
Hall floors are carpet for quiet. Room floors are wood for long term maintenance.

This was a long term project that took almost a year to complete. Owners bought a unique Sea Pines home that required some major remodeling. We also added artwork and furniture to complete the modern design. The plexiglass and brass railing was replaced with a sleek wire, metal and wood design. A cumbersome back staircase was removed and a sleek spiral staircase added to the living room. We used the clients existing coffee table, console table and end table from the early sixties and painted them a glossy black. They add a mid-century look to the design. The long hallways on either side of the living room were used to display abstract art.

This family wanted a locker for each person for coats and backpacks, as well as some closed storage and lots of adjustable shoe storage. The shaker doors add to the modern design and the space allows for closed long term storage up above each locker for seasonal items like swim gear, gloves and scarves.
