Kowalske Kitchen & Bath designed and remodeled this Delafield master bathroom. The original space had a small oak vanity and a shower insert.
The homeowners wanted a modern farmhouse bathroom to match the rest of their home. They asked for a double vanity and large walk-in shower. They also needed more storage and counter space.
Although the space is nearly all white, there is plenty of visual interest. This bathroom is layered with texture and pattern. For instance, this bathroom features shiplap walls, pretty hexagon tile, and simple matte black fixtures.
Modern Farmhouse Features:
- Winning color palette: shades of black/white & wood tones
- Shiplap walls
- Sliding barn doors, separating the bedroom & toilet room
- Wood-look porcelain tiled floor & shower niche, set in a herringbone pattern
- Matte black finishes (faucets, lighting, hardware & mirrors)
- Classic subway tile
- Chic carrara marble hexagon shower floor tile
- The shower has 2 shower heads & 6 body jets, for a spa-like experience
- The custom vanity has a grooming organizer for hair dryers & curling irons
- The custom linen cabinet holds 3 baskets of laundry. The door panels have caning inserts to allow airflow.

On the top of these South Shore of Boston homeowner’s master bath desires was a fireplace and TV set in ledger tile and a stylish slipper tub strategically positioned to enjoy them! They also requested a larger walk-in shower with seat and several shelves, cabinetry with plenty of storage and no-maintenance quartz countertops.
To create this bath’s peaceful feel, Renovisions collaborated with the owners to design with a transitional style in mind and incorporated luxury amenities to reflect the owner’s personalities and preferences. First things first, the blue striped wall paper was out along with the large Jacuzzi tub they rarely used.
Designing this custom master bath was a delight for the Renovisions team.
The existing space was large enough to accommodate a soaking tub and a free-standing glass enclosed shower for a clean and sophisticated look. Dark Brazilian cherry porcelain plank floor tiles were stunning against the natural stone-look border while the larger format textured silver colored tiles dressed the shower walls along with the attractive black pebble stone shower floor.
Renovisions installed tongue in groove wood to the entire ceiling and along with the moldings and trims were painted to match the soft ivory hues of the cabinetry. An electric fireplace and TV recessed into striking ledger stone adds a touch of rustic glamour to the room.
Other luxurious design elements used to create this relaxing retreat included a heated towel rack with programmable thermostat, shower bench seat and curbing that matched the countertops and five glass shelves that completed the sleek look. Gorgeous quartz countertops with waterfall edges was the perfect choice to tie in nicely with the furniture-style cream colored painted custom cabinetry with silver glaze. The beautiful matching framed mirrors were picturesque.
This spa-like master bath ‘Renovision’ was built for relaxation; a soothing sanctuary where these homeowners can retreat to de-stress at the end of a long day. By simply dimming the beautifully adorned chandelier lighting, these clients enjoy the sense-soothing amenities and zen-like ambiance in their own master bathroom.

Cleanse the clutter in your bathroom by selecting a coordinated collection of bath furniture with spare sensibility. Dura Supreme’s “Style Six” furniture series is designed to create sleek, minimalist appeal. Bookended on both sides and across the top, a set of doors and/or drawers are suspended beneath the countertop. If preferred, a floating shelf can be added for additional and attractive storage underneath.
An offset sink is sensitive to space limitations and maximizes countertop capacity in this small bathroom. Louvered linen storage adds drama and coordinated beautifully with the vanity style. Style Six furniture series offers 10 different configurations (for single sink vanities, double sink vanities, or offset sinks), and an optional floating shelf (vanity floor). Any combination of Dura Supreme’s many door styles, wood species, and finishes can be selected to create a one-of-a-kind bath furniture collection.
The bathroom has evolved from its purist utilitarian roots to a more intimate and reflective sanctuary in which to relax and reconnect. A refreshing spa-like environment offers a brisk welcome at the dawning of a new day or a soothing interlude as your day concludes.
Our busy and hectic lifestyles leave us yearning for a private place where we can truly relax and indulge. Beautiful relaxing freestanding tub surrounded by luxurious elements such as Carrera marble tile flooring and brushed gold bath filler. Custom dark wood linen storage cabinet sits across from a spacious shower (see previous photo). Our favorite feature is the custom functional ledge below the back window!

This project was not only full of many bathrooms but also many different aesthetics. The goals were fourfold, create a new master suite, update the basement bath, add a new powder bath and my favorite, make them all completely different aesthetics.
Primary Bath-This was originally a small 60SF full bath sandwiched in between closets and walls of built-in cabinetry that blossomed into a 130SF, five-piece primary suite. This room was to be focused on a transitional aesthetic that would be adorned with Calcutta gold marble, gold fixtures and matte black geometric tile arrangements.
Powder Bath-A new addition to the home leans more on the traditional side of the transitional movement using moody blues and greens accented with brass. A fun play was the asymmetry of the 3-light sconce brings the aesthetic more to the modern side of transitional. My favorite element in the space, however, is the green, pink black and white deco tile on the floor whose colors are reflected in the details of the Australian wallpaper.
Hall Bath-Looking to touch on the home's 70's roots, we went for a mid-mod fresh update. Black Calcutta floors, linear-stacked porcelain tile, mixed woods and strong black and white accents. The green tile may be the star but the matte white ribbed tiles in the shower and behind the vanity are the true unsung heroes.

This after picture took a full transformed look. These custom off white cabinets with feet are just gorgeous! The cabinets also had a roped design adding the cabinets design. The stainless steel hardware compliments these cabinets beautifully. The granite tops blended perfectly with the porcelain floor and wall tiles the scone lighting controlled on dimmers gave the client options in their lighting. These gorgeous vanity lamps are from Shades of Light. This beautiful bench was from Vanguard Furniture with a selected designer line of fabric that was selected. The accessories with the trays add a lot to this area to make it complete. John Magor Photography took a great shot here to show the after transformation.

Our clients wanted a master bath connected to their bedroom. We transformed the adjacent sunroom into an elegant and warm master bath that reflects their passion for midcentury design. The design started with the walnut double vanity the clients selected in the mid-century style. We built on that style with classic black and white tile. We built that ledge behind the vanity so we could run plumbing and insulate around the pipes as it is an exterior wall. We could have built out that full wall but chose a knee wall so the client would have a ledge for additional storage. The wall-mounted faucets are set in the knee wall. The large shower has a niche and a bench seat. Our designer selected a simple white quartz surface throughout for the vanity counter, ledge, shower seat and niche shelves. Note how the herringbone pattern in the niche matches the surrounding tile.

A classic, elegant master suite for the husband and wife, and a fun, sophisticated entertainment space for their family -- it was a dream project!
To turn the master suite into a luxury retreat for two young executives, we mixed rich textures with a playful, yet regal color palette of purples, grays, yellows and ivories.
For fun family gatherings, where both children and adults are encouraged to play, I envisioned a handsome billiard room and bar, inspired by the husband’s favorite pub.

One of the main features of the space is the natural lighting. The windows allow someone to feel they are in their own private oasis. The wide plank European oak floors, with a brushed finish, contribute to the warmth felt in this bathroom, along with warm neutrals, whites and grays. The counter tops are a stunning Calcatta Latte marble as is the basket weaved shower floor, 1x1 square mosaics separating each row of the large format, rectangular tiles, also marble. Lighting is key in any bathroom and there is more than sufficient lighting provided by Ralph Lauren, by Circa Lighting. Classic, custom designed cabinetry optimizes the space by providing plenty of storage for toiletries, linens and more. Holger Obenaus Photography did an amazing job capturing this light filled and luxurious master bathroom. Built by Novella Homes and designed by Lorraine G Vale

Vivid Interiors
It all began with an aqua Terrazo tile as the inspiration for -our client's master bathroom transformation. A master suite built for an Edmonds Queen, with walk-in closet, master bathroom, and 2 vanity areas were included. The project also included updates to her powder room and laundry room- which was relocated to the lower level. This allowed us to reframe her master suite area and create a larger, more dramatic, and very functional master bath.
Angled walls made space-planning and reframing a challenging puzzle to solve and we not only had to measure the interior, but the exterior angles as well since we were removing walls. Luckily, the large “wet room” concept met the client’s needs and overcame this obstacle. The new space features a stand-alone tub open showering area, as well as sink vanity, and seated makeup area. Additionally, storage needs were addressed with a wall of cabinetry installed adjacent to the new walk-in closet. A serene color palette and a variety of textures gives this bathroom a spa-like vibe and the aqua highlights repeated in glass accent tiles.
Our client enjoys her choice of a walk-in shower or soaking tub with bubbles in the modernized space. Storage was desperately needed, as you can see from the before photos, so the en-suite closet was designed in a linear wall configuration. The original Terrazo tile was used as the vertical accent in the corner of the shower and on the top of the rounded shower bench. Our client held onto her inspiration tile for years while she saved to create a budget worthy of this project and its amenities. Budget is always a consideration, and here our client chose to spoil herself.
Some unique design features include:
• The angled end of the makeup vanity with shelves for toiletries within easy reach of the tub and hidden view.
• The makeup vanity side lighting, seated counter and a convenient laundry chute
• The free-standing tub is perfectly positioned to create a direct sight-line through the master bedroom to the Puget Sound views beyond.
• Wall-mount waterfall filler and controls at the tub eliminate a bulky floor mount faucet.
• An angled countertop and glass shelving add interest between the sink vanity and closet cabinetry.
• The toilet is tucked out of sight just past the first tall cabinet.
• A glass partition blocks overspray from the shower.
She now enjoys a spa like retreat every day!

A Brookfield master bath was in desperate need of a makeover. The bathroom was dated with vinyl flooring, a claustrophobic stand-up shower and a tub that wasn’t used. Kowalske Kitchen & Bath designed this bathroom with two main goals – give the couple a spacious walk-in shower and give them a bold, fun design.
The design is stunning and on-trend. The highlight of the space is the patterned floor and aqua blue cabinetry. The new vanity spans the entire wall, giving them additional storage space. The glass shower features subway tile walls and hexagon carrara marble floor tile. The room is completed with Kohler fixtures, oil rubbed bronze lighting and hardware, open shelving and antique gold mirrors.
