Close your eyes, and imagine…You just finished Thanksgiving dinner – all the fixin’s surrounded by friends and family in your new Demlang home. In this kitchen with Zodiac quartz countertops, Kohler Vault stainless sink, and a pull-out Tournant faucet, you’ll make short work of the dishes. Leftovers are quickly stashed away in the Bosch French door stainless refrigerator, leaving you to enjoy the again clean island, adorned by a hand-scraped birch soffit with industrial pendant lights.
Gather in the great room and gaze up at the soaring ceilings with rustic beamed treatment, unbuckle your belt a notch and let the food coma kick-in while the tranquil flames dance in the Heat & Glo corner gas fireplace.
As the ritual game of Sheepshead is kicked off in the rustic covered retreat, the bargain hunters browse ads preparing for the big shopping day. The kids land in the Command Center, playing computer games while dishtowels and linens are washed in this multi-functional room.
All you can wonder is when everyone is going home – leaving you to retreat to your master suite, thankful you only have to host once a year!
Black Friday arrives, and the aroma of fresh brewed coffee fills your master suite. As you sip coffee in your mirrored dressing room, you make sure your Black Friday yoga pants look just right. Who says life has to be stressful!

The Glass is the water line.
The elegant early lines of the golden era of yachting owe much to the eye of the master tradesman.Half models of intended designs were carefully shaped by our early boat builders.
Once happy with the shape of these half hulls, often only 18” or 2’ long, they would “loft” the lines onto the floor of their workshop and create full size plans of the intended boat from these early prototypes.
All done with the keen eye of a true craftsman. “The Bailey is a tribute to the skill and passion of New Zealand’s early shipwrights”. It is with this attention to graceful lines and technique in mind, we created the Bailey Table. Using traditional techniques and tools such as the draw blade and spokeshave these tables are crafted by hand and eye to an almost silky, fluid finish. A joy to touch and view from almost any angle.
Almost organic in touch and line, there are few straight lines to this sculpturally aesthetic piece.

It’s always a blessing when your clients become friends - and that’s exactly what blossomed out of this two-phase remodel (along with three transformed spaces!). These clients were such a joy to work with and made what, at times, was a challenging job feel seamless. This project consisted of two phases, the first being a reconfiguration and update of their master bathroom, guest bathroom, and hallway closets, and the second a kitchen remodel.
In keeping with the style of the home, we decided to run with what we called “traditional with farmhouse charm” – warm wood tones, cement tile, traditional patterns, and you can’t forget the pops of color! The master bathroom airs on the masculine side with a mostly black, white, and wood color palette, while the powder room is very feminine with pastel colors.
When the bathroom projects were wrapped, it didn’t take long before we moved on to the kitchen. The kitchen already had a nice flow, so we didn’t need to move any plumbing or appliances. Instead, we just gave it the facelift it deserved! We wanted to continue the farmhouse charm and landed on a gorgeous terracotta and ceramic hand-painted tile for the backsplash, concrete look-alike quartz countertops, and two-toned cabinets while keeping the existing hardwood floors. We also removed some upper cabinets that blocked the view from the kitchen into the dining and living room area, resulting in a coveted open concept floor plan.
Our clients have always loved to entertain, but now with the remodel complete, they are hosting more than ever, enjoying every second they have in their home.

SUPERB SYMMETRY - House plan # 3710 by Drummond House Plans
This model is characterized by symmetry and balance. Modern lines are achieved by the use of symmetrical windows and vertical cladding accents.
The large vestibule provides ample storage with nearly 8 ft of closet space. The living room is oriented forward and the back of the house is commanded by a generous open kitchen with walk-in pantry and dining area. Ample windows and a triple patio door turn the kitchen/dining area into a fabulous al fresco experience. The plan includes a suggested laundry room/bathroom combination on the main floor.
Upstairs, the master bedroom will easily fit a king-sized bed with room to spare plus his and hers closets and a writing/computer desk. Two secondary bedrooms include 6 ft closets. A large family bathroom includes a double vanity, laundry chute and 60” x 40” separate shower.

BEFORE: 1920s Colonial Hunting Lodge to family home: Historical Renovation & Addition. Residential Building Design by Susan P. Berry, CPBD,. Onterior remodel of center 2 story section converting the existing kitchen to a laundry room. The existing side structures were removed. A new barn, lake bath, large kitchen , butler's pantry, computer desk and potting shed were added to the left side. A large master suite and powder bath were added to the right side. A sun room was added across the rear of the home. The center 2 story potion is the existing home. The rooms were too small for contemporary living. A large luxury master suite, including a claw foot tub and 300sf closet was added to the right. Garages, mud room, lake bath, potting shed, home office, pantry space and a very large kitchen with views to the lake were added to the right. A large glass room with a sun deck above was added to the rear. The little window to the left of the front door is the old kitchen, which is now the laundry room, using the existing cabinets, while switching out the stove and fridge for the washer and dryer. The client wanted a front porch to protect them from the Florida rains. The roof of the front porch follows the line of the existing pediment over the door. Benches will be placed at each side of the porch with Confederate Jasmine covered trellises. This home was a multiple award Parade of Homes winner. Farina & Sons, Builder

Adjacent to the kitchen, we designed a homework station to seat two for this family with two school-aged children.
