Kowalske Kitchen & Bath was hired as the bathroom remodeling contractor for this Delafield master bath and closet. This black and white boho bathrooom has industrial touches and warm wood accents. The original space was like a labyrinth, with a complicated layout of walls and doors. The homeowners wanted to improve the functionality and modernize the space. The main entry of the bathroom/closet was a single door that lead to the vanity. Around the left was the closet and around the right was the rest of the bathroom. The bathroom area consisted of two separate closets, a bathtub/shower combo, a small walk-in shower and a toilet. To fix the choppy layout, we separated the two spaces with separate doors – one to the master closet and one to the bathroom. We installed pocket doors for each doorway to keep a streamlined look and save space. BLACK & WHITE BOHO BATHROOM This master bath is a light, airy space with a boho vibe. The couple opted for a large walk-in shower featuring a Dreamline Shower enclosure. Moving the shower to the corner gave us room for a black vanity, quartz counters, two sinks, and plenty of storage and counter space. The toilet is tucked in the far corner behind a half wall. BOHO DESIGN The design is contemporary and features black and white finishes. We used a white cararra marble hexagon tile for the backsplash and the shower floor. The Hinkley light fixtures are matte black and chrome. The space is warmed up with luxury vinyl plank wood flooring and a teak shelf in the shower. This old farmhouse (ca. late 18th century) has undergone many renovations over the years. Spring Creek Design added its stamp in 2008, with a small mudroom addition and a complete interior renovation. The addition encompasses a 1st floor mudroom with extensive cabinetry and closetry. Upon entering the space from the driveway, cabinet and countertop space is provided to accommodate incoming grocery bags. Next in line are a series of “lockers” and cubbies - just right for coats, hats and book bags. Further inside is a wrap-around window seat with cedar shoe racks beneath. A stainless steel dog feeding station rounds out the amenities - all built atop a natural Vermont slate floor. On the lower level, the addition features a full bathroom and a “Dude Pod” - a compact work and play space for the resident code monkey. Outfitted with a stand-up desk and an electronic drum kit, one needs only emerge for Mountain Dew refills and familial visits. Within the existing space, we added an ensuite bathroom for the third floor bedroom. The second floor bathroom and first floor powder room were also gutted and remodeled. The master bedroom was extensively remodeled - given a vaulted ceiling and a wall of floor-to-roof built-ins accessed with a rolling ladder. An extensive, multi-level deck and screen house was added to provide outdoor living space, with secure, dry storage below. Design Criteria: - Update house with a high sustainability standard. - Provide bathroom for daughters’ third floor bedroom. - Update remaining bathrooms - Update cramped, low ceilinged master bedroom - Provide mudroom/entryway solutions. - Provide a window seating space with good visibility of back and side yards – to keep an eye on the kids at play. - Replace old deck with a updated deck/screen porch combination. - Update sitting room with a wood stove and mantle. Special Features: - Insulated Concrete Forms used for Dude Pod foundation. - Soy-based spray foam insulation used in the addition and master bedroom. - Paperstone countertops in mudroom. - Zero-VOC paints and finishes used throughout the project. - All decking and trim for the deck/screen porch is made from 100% recycled HDPE (milk jugs, soda, water bottles) - High efficiency combination washer/dryer.

Complete Master Bathroom remodel! We began by removing every surface from floor to ceiling including the shower/tub combo to enable us to create a zero-threshold walk-in shower. We then re placed the window with a new obscure rain glass. The vanity cabinets are a cool grey shaker style cabinet topped with a subtle Pegasus Quartz and a Waterfall edge leading into the shower. The shower wall tile is a 12x24 Themar Bianco Lasa with Soft Grey brush strokes throughout. The featured Herringbone wall connects to the shower using the 3x12 Themar Bianco Lasa tile. We even added a little Herringbone detail to the custom soap niche inside the shower. For the shower floor, we installed a flat pebble that created a spa like escape! This bathroom encompasses all neutral earth tones which you can see through the solid panel of clear glass that is all the way to the ceiling. For the proportion of the space, we used a skinny 4x40 Savanna Milk wood look tile flooring for the main area. Finally, the bathroom is completed with chrome fixtures such as a flush mounted rain head, shower head and wand, two single hole faucets and last but not least… those gorgeous pendant lights above the vanity!

Feast your eyes on this modern master bath renovation by Thompson Remodeling. Gorgeous hickory cabinets with a slate finish set an upscale tone. The linear lines created by the center storage cabinet are nicely offset by a quartz countertop with round sinks. The walk-in shower features rich, ceramic tile walls and ceiling set in a repeating pattern and a pebble stone floor. Storage niches were set into the wall so that soaps and shampoos are kept hidden from view.

When demoing this space the shower needed to be turned...the stairwell tread from the downstairs was framed higher than expected. It is now hidden from view under the bench. Needing it to move furthur into the expansive shower than truly needed, we created a ledge and capped it for product/backrest. We also utilized the area behind the bench for open cubbies for towels.

This early 90's contemporary home was in need of some major updates and when my clients purchased it they were ready to make it their own. The home features large open rooms, great natural light and stunning views of Lake Washington. These clients love bold vibrant colors and clean modern lines so the goal was to incorporate those in the design without it overwhelming the space. Balance was key. The end goal was for the home to feel open and airy yet warm and inviting. This was achieved by bringing in punches of color to an otherwise white or neutral palate. Texture and visual interest were achieved throughout the house through the use of wallpaper, fabrics, and a few one of a kind artworks.
